He might not have too many fans, but so far Asia Cup win, CT win, A drawn series in England with some great selection like Sundar (he was getting abused for picking him but then Sundar literally changed the series around).

The real shame was the home white wash but that was also the fault of the players included

He has had a successful stint so far. I do wonder given the talent and quality of players available to him, does he actually deserve any credit or he is feeding off the good work done by Dravid and co?

GG is highly passionate and he is really working with the team .. he is injecting the right approach and aggression in young players … his selection can be questioned but so far he is doing well with youngsters I think he matches the
Energy with youngsters … I wonder if someone like layman would match to the same the level of energy … gg at most needs to chanell this high energy in the right direction …which is to win games …

Only credit i give him is the he altered the team make up. In the IPL team with batting depth most of the time won the IPL even at the expense of weakening the bowling. IT is verifiable. But when it comes to batting order, personnel he missed the mark badly. Listening to Tilak varma after match it seems like Gambhir asked everyone to bat anywhere in the batting order.

One of sky or Gill should go and have to make way for Jaiswal. It doesn't inspire confidence having absolute softie like Gill.he never played well in a crunch situation or on a tough pitch.if bcci needs poster boy Gill, sky should make way as his form is atrocious past 1 year.if any solid player like xyz can play a decent knock of 35 or 40 at 3 in finals, it should have been a cake walk instead of tense affair.

In eng series itself, some opener (samson?) Said apart from openers, every one have to be flexible. But this is chaotic than planning. Team should have fixed positions with one floater depending on the situation not the other way around.

Yea it is somewhat confusing the roles of players

Maybe this is the next stage of evolution of cricket

May be but this approach will need 2 years of time as every time a match situation is different and player in that position will be different. It needs lot of understanding among the team and same squad to acclimatise. If one or two new players are coming later , its again chaotic.

From the interview when he said he was preparing for different situation would mean different stage of game , different game situations … and I think this is a good approach… all teams should prepare like this prepare batters or bowlers for that matter who can deliver at different potions and game situations … even for bowlers you can be asked to bowl at different stage of the game … dube for instance is an example he opnef bowling ahead of Bumrah …. Can anyone imagine that… I think this is a evolution for both bowlers and batters.. GG is taking game ahead.. he may fail but this is an evolution

India's white ball team needs a tweak or two. This despite the recent success.

SKY's time is up I am afraid. Age is not on his side either. He has to go. Gill stays IMO.

I see Sharma, Jaiswal, Gill, Varma as top four in that order. In white ball for India. All of them 25 and under. So long term set. There's Pant, Iyer and I am sure a few others that cannot even get into the team currently. So plenty of bench options for India.

I would say, Dube is someone that can/could/should be replaced. Not sure if there is a replacement available tough. Pandya is ok for now. But he is getting on in years as well. So that all rounder position is a question mark for the long term.

Bowling, seems fine for India. Bumrah, Singh, Yadav, Chakarvarthy, Patel and I am sure there are a few more in the IPL pipeline.
