Nah it's ok brother you don't need to apologies even i believed some of the propaganda content on social media only to realize later it was fake later there is a whole dirty war going on social media not just against PTI but against almost every party and leader. People are using out of context pics, videos and even using old pics to further their own agendas.

All this shows is that more Dawn readers are voting for PTI than last time. Other than that, this survey is useless.
I saw the clip where Jibran was pretty much cornered by group of religious extremists forcing Jibran to abuse Ahmadis and he refused to do so. It was brave of him and completely support his stance but it was sad at the same time as he almost looked speechless after explaining it multiple times.
I am sure he will still stand his ground but he will be asked same questions again and he will spend more time on explaining his belief than real issues which is a shame but this is reality of society. He won't win this battle through arguments unfortunately. Imran Khan had similar views and eventually had to accept the reality so he could concentrate on bigger issues which does not mean he agrees with beliefs of these people but he knows this mentality needs long term solution through education and awareness rather than arguments.

Could you please show me where Imran Khan held similar views to Jibran Nasir in respect of his stance on the Ahmadi issue?
Jibran has repeatedly stood up for the rights of minorities and has actively refused to label Ahmadis as non-Muslim whilst being pressured to do so by fanatics. Please show me where Imran has done the same.
Even before the last election in 2013, Imran had caved in to the fanatics (https://blogs.tribune.com.pk/story/17157/no-place-for-ahmadis-in-imran-khans-naya-pakistan/). I also remember he had to do a big u-turn on the Atif Mian when he discovered he was an Ahmadi.
Instances like this made me really lose heart with Imran and PTI. We need politicians who support all our minority groups, and not vilify them for political gain.

For sure, but the seats in that region will probably end up being split approximately 30:70 between PTI and PML-N, giving PML-N a total of 51 out of 73 seats. The rest of Punjab will be 70:30 in PTIs favour against all opposition. Winning in central Punjab alone is definitely not enough for PML-N to win the election, them winning relies on them completely sweeping Punjab and winning 75-80% of seats in the entire province.

PML-N have really mastered the art of biradari politics in Central Punjab. Its amazing they have done so well there.
I think its going to be a tough fight in the rest of Punjab but PTI will be in with a very good in other regions.

They have already formed a panel which is looking into the entire logistics and planning for it I think? I don't think they have announced which specific areas yet. From what I remember, PTI have promised to put the whole thing into motion as soon as possible, probably very soon after being elected.
The only problem is that creating new provinces requires a 2/3 majority in the National Assembly and in the concerned Provincial Assembly. Getting 2/3 in the National Assembly is manageable, but getting 2/3 in the Punjab Assembly is a steep ask as they are going to have to convince PML-N MPAs to vote against their party.

Interesting. If PTI wins this many seats they wont be able to form a govt straight away and will be reliant on independants many of which will just move and join the PMLN. Unfortunately it looks like we're in for another PMLN plus PPP five years!!
The big difference being Imran will be the leader of the opposition and another five years of fighting a political insurgency!!

1. To form a simple majority PTI will need 137 seats. So they can win 100 seats themselves and make up the shortfall of 37 with independents and small sympathetic parties.
A simple majority means many major bills and reforms will have to be approved by voting in parliament and with a simple majority this will be difficult. So PTI may not get to implement their big reforms that easily.
Still at least PTI will form government and they can get the ball rolling and still do many things.
2. A two thirds majority. This is what all parties want and desire. It's the ultimate aim and more or less means they will be able to do their major reforms and get things passed easily. It's a strong mandate.
To get this 180 seats will be needed. So PTI can win 100 seats and make up the 80 shortfall with independents and small sympathetic parties. But this is not going to happen as they won't get 80 seats to join them as these won't be available.
A wonderful scenario would be if PTI wins 140 seats all by itself but this may not happen.

In order to get your passport and ID card you are required by law to declare Ahmadies non-Muslims. He talked about it during his press conference. So anyone who ask him this question his answer is very simple; it is not his place to abuse a certain section of community and at the same time he is not answerable to anyone about his religious beliefs.

I didn't know he's planning to launch a political party after these elections. I am really hoping he wins his Sindh Assembly seat, will be a really valuable asset in opposition and it will be a good platform for him to launch a party. I would love to see more options in Pakistan because right now there is a serious dearth of centre-left parties. We need new voices, new ideas, and serious debate on the issues.

They can sell whatever they want but my issue is why media and majority of desi liberals show hypocrisy they still defend this party this is not the first time PPP did something like this. Mujahideen of 80s were turned into Taliban in Bibi govt and she supported them. His father declared Ahmedis as non muslims. There are countless examples where PPP were on bed with ASWJ and Rah e Haq org. But still PPP is progressive liberal party? I mean come on they should stop selling this manjan its getting boring

There are too many petty divisions, like Talpurs vs this and that, that it is impossible to unite people against PPP. More often it is the case that if a person from a rival clan joins PPP the other rivals join Grand Democratic Alliance (GDA) and vice versa. The peasants follow their masters, voting for whichever political parties their masters are happed to be in. Similarly, politics of MQM in Karachi and Hyderabad made sure that the majority Urdu speaking voters will vote for them, either out of fear of the alternative or out of fear of MQM itself. All in all, things are quite bleak in Sindh.

Not necessarily on Ahmadi issue but extremism in general and blasphemy law. Even Salman Taseer said in his interview that Imran Khan has similar views on this and Imran Khan has talked about amendments in the law. My PMLN friends often quote him on blasphemy laws, stance on Mumtaz Qadri and even Ahmadi issue. No doubt he does not talk about those issues anymore because he knows he is not winning this debate so better concentrate on things that he could achieve.
Jibran is still not a politician , he is a human rights activist and by the time he becomes a politician, you will see softened approach on this as well. Not that he would change his views but he would need to compromise on this stance to some extent especially if he forms his party and gains some more popularity.
I could clearly see real frustration on his face while repeatedly answering same question.

As i said, he will for sure IF he decides to build a political party and expand it nationally. Till then, he will stand his ground as this is his strength.
Anyway, as a Pakistani i wish him success. We need more people like him and i would take him in Sindh assembly over Imran Ismail of PTI.

The entire survey is a joke anyway, nothing scientific about it. If they were truly unbiased though, they would have highlighted the 33% of PML-N supporters switching to PTI in this survey.

I think there was mismanagement and IK arrived before time because he had to go to Lahore. (But also heard lot of grouping in PTI Jehlum because of both tickets given to same family)

Yes but siraj will lose most probably in his own NA seat,upper dir is relatively weak but i hope pti will be the winner..IA.

If PTI's situation is messy then think about other side as well, PMLN will most probably need to form alliance with PPP, MMA and MQM to form the government which won't be the strongest government.
Tricky times head.
For Pakistan's sake (not just PTI), i hope PTI gets around 110 - 120 seats otherwise very weak coalition government.
