but not for reforms like corruption
No party will be able to openly vote against bills that are in support of building institutions that will hurt the party at national level

Yes, it would be a great assurance!
My only worry is if she will be able to handle a massive province like Punjab at this age? she is 67 and a lady (we all know the issues females have to face in our society)

I hope Asad Umar comes up with an attractive investment scheme with good returns for overseas Pakistanis... I would be willing to invest a major chunk of my life's saving in it. Pakistan needs money and lots of it.
Might be a worry, but I'm sure she will have plenty of people around her supporting her. She's a tough lady, and I'm sure she can do it.
if she is good enough then that is all that matters. look at qaim ali shah in Sindh!![]()
I don't know but she made PMLN sweat twice now in arguably their strongest constituency. The lady certainly seems capable. However, yes age might be an issue.
Wasn't Asifa Bhutto Zardari contesting too? Did she win her PS seat? And will she be CM Sindh?
Then I'm expecting Murad Ali Shah to retain his post?Nah she wasn't given the ticket.
why is it a mistake? If MQM joins now, that means PTI gets more reserve quota. After Mqm leaves will the reserve quota also leave?
We are going to get many women reserve seats in Punjab, KP, Sindh and Federal i was wondering what Fozia Kasuri must be thinking now? opportunity missed?
Happy for Dua Bhutto she will be able to get a seat in Sindh assembly she worked really hard on ground with Haleem Adil in interior sindh.
Syed1 Mian and everyone, was a joy to read the posts. I still come here for updates!
Thanks buddy loved your posts we are going to keep this thread active for a few more days or maybe will rename and turn this into a politics thread for next 5 years.

Then I'm expecting Murad Ali Shah to retain his post?
Gotta turn this into a politics thread!![]()
I was also thinking the same about Fozia Kasuri. She would have gotten a guaranteed reserved seat had she stook around.

bohat lightweigh aadmi ho yaar!! hussein.r97 give this guy some help...lol
Guys look how Allah's help has arrived:
1. We have won the elections CONVINCINGLY.
2. We have won seats from the top to the bottom of the country.
3. We are the number 1 party in Karachi now.
4. We have a significant presence in Balochistan.
5. We are about to get LOTS of reserved seats which means we can start grooming the next generation of PTI leaders from all backgrounds.
6. We are about to form Punjab provincial gvt.
7. Full control over KP which means we can do even more.
8. We are about to form a string opposition in Sindh provincial assembly.
9. We will be able to get many of our bills passed in assembly.
10. Imran now has the power to bring change across the country.
Alhamdulillah.
How does the above make you feel?
hahaha thanks bhai! barfi and ladoo to mene utha liay hen baaqi taqseem kerden![]()
Kamzor banda hun bhai Nawaz Sharif wali jisamat nae meri
I don't see any gulab jamun.... hum iss mithai ki taukri se muqammal la'taluqi ka ilaan kartay hein

Aleem Khan is way too controversial.
Tahir Sadiq is way too unreliable.
SMQ lost his seat.
We need a loyal , clean and a sensible individual for CM Punjab post.
Ind candidates to start meeting IK tomorrow and they will announce the support right there after meeting him.
you need some roagani nan
in other words they have already agreed and the meeting is a mere formality!!
wow Habib Akram saying Dr Yasmeen Rashid is being considered for CMship of Punjab by IK himself and he thinks she is the face of change.
An excellent choice would be extremely happy if she gets it. I think she can do a lot of good stuff for Punjab.
Najam Sethi is going to be removed apparently according to news.
He wrote an article criticising PTI today in his newspaper. He can see the writing on the wall.

I'm not too familiar with the reserve seat system, how does it work? We don't have that here in the US. Who picks reserved seat candidates, the party the seats have been allocated too? Mian hussain.r97

Here is the article for those interested.
"The constitution may also be targeted for amendment. The 18th Amendment, for starters, has become irksome because it shaves the federal pool — which is required to pay for increasing defense expenditures and pensions— by devolving financial resources to the provinces. A need may also be felt to reduce the size and strength of Punjab in the scheme of things, especially since the development of a critical fissure in the historical pro-Miltablishment character of the province. Plans remain on the anvil to carve it up into three or more “units” that are politically more “manageable”."
Centralizing power and breaking up Punjab is part of the Bajwa doctrine but constitutional amendments would require support of either PMLN or PPP. Don't see them budging.

Read through the thread it has been explained a few times or just google
Reserved seats Pakistan national assembly
There are a total of 342 seats in the National Assembly. Of these, 272 are filled by direct elections. In addition, the Pakistani Constitution reserves 10 seats for religious minorities and 60 seats for women, to be filled by proportional representation among parties with more than 5% of the vote.
I did read that from earlier on in the thread, I guess I should rephrase my question, why is this system in place? These officials are not elected into government like the others, do they have less power? Who picks the reserved seat candidates? The party or are they pre-picked? I see PTI has Dr. Yasim Rashid for first pick (for PPA), thus was confused.

Reserved seats are for women and minorities.
The reserved seats are for women and religious minorities as in a society like ours it will hard for them to get propotional representatives in government. This ensures that we have women and religious minorities participating in the goverment.
First time i listened to the dude KASHIF on ARY NEWS and i had to close my streaming after 10 minutes.
He is sooooo ill mannered, don't know how to speak with some one. Can't even give respect to his fellow hosts.

I don't think this is that accurate, but TLP did help PTI win some seats.
We need a more scientific analysis with age breakdown and who TLP voters voted for previously to come to a better conclusion.
Majid Agha is a known clown and jiyala but news is interesting lets see when the more details come out. PTI also calling rigging in NA73 and NA129

From what chaudary was saying looks like PTI can't get majority in Punjab or be safe in national assembly without them and they plan to use it to get Punjab goverment
I am not even from Punjab
Link is working now. PTI candidate still appears to be the winner.
WTH, selfish a** people! IK should not have involved himself with idiots like these.
Chaudary Elahi is after Punjab CMship.
Chaudary Elahi is after Punjab CMship.
This was also my fear.
PMLNQ are not going to join PTI in Punjab unless Parvez Elahi is made CM Punjab.
Yeah listened to him and it was clear he wants to join PTI but he will demand CMship.
Chaudary Elahi is after Punjab CMship.
