Credit goes to Azam Khan
he holds the wicket at crucial time.

I am impressed with this kid.

I was really impressed with Naseem and Hasnain. Naseem stuck to the plan against Babar, bowled with good pace and was economical. Was unlucky that ultra edge didn't work, that looked out against Babar.

Hasnain was executing those yorkers perfectly. Didn't bowl as quickly as he can, but he was accurate.

The selectors are gonna have a big headache (good headache) about who to select for the World T20 in terms of fast bowlers.

Shaheen is the only pacer locked in. imo Amir shouldn't play, he really has dropped in performance a lot. He has become predictable, lost pace and swing.

finally we can look past the likes of Irfans, Tanvirs and Anwar..right?

Azam Khan should be MOM this time otherwise it will be unfair on the lad

You forget the impossible match he won us vs sri lanka already, hasnt happened since then for pak

Every single shot in that inning was a wild slog over midwicket. The Sri Lankan pacers were just feeding him with full tosses and length deliveries on leg stump. If you bowl anything outside off or a yorker then he is done.

It was a bakwaas match, Karachi wanted to lose and Quetta couldnt get over the line. Baby Azam was given several lives by Arshad by failing to be on the striker end where Azam was having problems to reach.

When Azam and Imad can speak English, Why is Rameez talking to them in Urdu? They really need to change the post match presenter.

Well deserved man of the match to Azam Khan. I hope he remains working hard and his father being Moin Khan doesnt effect him in a negative way

Karachi lost the match by getting shazhad out very early. Had the lengend stayed on the wicket a bit longer Karachi would have won.

Gladiators and Kings fined for slow over-rates

Karachi, 23 February 2020:

Defending champions Quetta Gladiators and Karachi Kings have been fined for maintaining slow over-rates during their match in the HBL Pakistan Super League 2020 at the National Stadium on Sunday.

Players from both teams were found to be one over short of their target after taking into account time allowances and, as such, playing members from either side have been fined 10 per cent of their match fees as per Article 2.22 of the HBL PSL Code of Conduct for Players and Player Support Personnel, which deals with minimum over-rate offences.

If either side is again found guilty of a slow over-rate during the tournament, then it will be deemed as their second offence and each playing eleven squad member will be fined 20 per cent of his match fee.

The charges were levelled by Faisal Khan Afridi and Richard Illingworth (both on-field umpires), Asif Yaqoob (third umpire) and Syed Imtiaz Iqbal (fourth umpire), while match referee Roshan Mahanama imposed the fines, based on the applicable sanctions for Minimum Over Rate offences.

Karachi, 23 February 2020:

Match referee Roshan Mahanama has clarified Quetta Gladiators had retained the review after ultra-edge technology was not available for their referral against Karachi Kings’ Babar Azam during the sixth match of the HBL Pakistan Super League 2020 at the National Stadium on Sunday

Mr Mahanama said: “It must be remembered that there needs to be conclusive evidence for the TV umpire to inform the on-field umpire to over-turn the decision as the DRS has been designed to eliminate the obvious umpiring errors.

“In this case, ultra-edge technology was not available. This means according to 3.3.7 of the playing conditions, the third umpire informed the on-field umpire of the technology’s failure and shared with him whatever factual information he had from the available resources. Based on this, the on-field umpire upheld his original decision

“I subsequently exercised the powers vested in me as per 3.6.8 of the playing conditions and allowed Quetta Gladiators to retain the review as their review couldn’t be completed due to the failure of the technology.”

Notes to Editors:

The two articles quoted above read as:

3.3.7 In circumstances where the television technology (all or parts thereof) is not available to the third umpire or fails for whatever reason, the third umpire shall advise the on-field umpire of this fact but still provide any relevant factual information that may be ascertained from the available television replays and other technology.

3.6.8 A Player Review categorised as ‘Unsuccessful’ may be reinstated by the PSL Match Referee at his/her sole discretion (if appropriate after consultation with the television broadcast director) if the Player Review could not properly be concluded due to a failure of the technology. Any such decision shall be final and shall be taken as soon as possible, being communicated to both teams once all the relevant facts have been ascertained by the PSL Match Referee. A Player Review categorised as ‘Unsuccessful’ shall not be reinstated if, despite any technical failures, the correct decision could still have been made using the other available technology. Similarly, a Player Review categorised as ‘Unsuccessful’ shall not be reinstated where the technology worked as intended, but the evidence gleaned from its use was inconclusive.

Azam khan first MOM and rightly deserved it has the power game and rotates strike and doesnt get bogged down need to loose weight but has a chance to get in world cup squad if he continues to perform

Let's see how Azam develops, he has what a wk/Bat needs to have in T20 cricket, the ability to clear the boundary.

Karachi lost the match by getting shazhad out very early. Had the lengend stayed on the wicket a bit longer Karachi would have won.

Agreed. Big mistake by KK. Shehzad's wicket was the turning point.
