Today, on Friday, March 15, Islamabad United is set to face Quetta Gladiators in the first Eliminator of the Pakistan Super League 2024. Islamabad United secured their spot in this match by finishing third in the PSL 2024 standings, while Quetta Gladiators, who finished fourth, also made it to the qualifiers. The victor of this match will go on to compete against Peshawar Zalmi, led by Babar Azam, who were defeated by Multan Sultans on Thursday night.

Earlier in the tournament, during match 8, Quetta Gladiators emerged victorious over Islamabad United by a margin of three wickets. However, their rematch was unfortunately disrupted by rain and had to be abandoned.

Islamabad should win this one. Quetta is not the team that will be difficult to beat when compared to multan or Peshawar so my vote is for Islamabad.

Amir vs Naseem?

which bowler will outshine the other?

65m on the square leg side, 68 towards point; it's pitch number 1. Michael Clarke, in the pitch report, says the pitch seems a little tired, and there could be some inconsistency in bounce and pace. Some balls might come quicker than others, and he reckons the key will be the rotation of strike. The middle period for both teams is going to be the most important. He thinks 160-170 is going to be game on; trying too hard could get batters in trouble. There could be some reverse swing, and he advises batters to take some time before cutting loose.

Toss Update:

Islamabad United have won the toss and will bat first

Two Changes in Islamabad United: Martin Guptill and Obed Mccoy comes in in place of Colin Munro and Tymal Mills

After 9 seasons the quality of product is still at infancy level, appalling state of affairs

Dead crowd . Looks like some club game going on . Wonder if crowd will come for finals

What a shame that Munro didn't make it in the end.

Hard for Guptill and McCoy to come in for their first game and that too in an eliminator.

United electing to bat first after winning the toss. United have preferred chasing throughout, what has Shadab done

All the hard work by Amir's first over gone down the drain courtesy Wasim Jr

His game really is poor.

QG kinda recovered from that disastrous first over by Wasim JR

Typical Pakistan cricket team player he is

Don’t mind a bowler getting smashed but 5 wides to begin your spell is so frustrating!

Tariq approaches the bowling crease as if he is going 2 run away out of the stadium with the ball - 62/1 in 8

Wasim Jr absolutely leaking here

Pathetic bowling. It’s as if he is bowling under Babar Azam here

2 overs for 34

Kuch sharam hoti hai

Kuch hayaa hoti hai

Quetta is completely losing it out there, runout miss and a drop catch don't help you in a knockout game. United are clear ahead atm.

Zero intensity

This is why Sarfaraz is key for them. He keeps the Pakistani players in check behind the stumps

That’s the lady who snaked Parizad for a good looking guy

Saim and Saud both can give overs

Much rather have these two instead of frauds Babar and Rizwan

What’s the point of Rutherford returning if they didn’t want to play him in an eliminator?

Shadab hitting sixes! Man he's a smart cricketer. Have to admit good decision to bat first

just look at the bowling line up :D

It's not as bad as ISLU is making them be. Akeal Hossein has been a regular wicket taker and had one of the best economy rate. It's just that Shadab has worked on his hitting game, especially against spinners

They nearly made a meal of that catch too

QG is totally out of sync

PCB should make the entry for the Final match free. Or very cheap like 100 Rs.

It will also be a good test to know if Karachi crowd can come if the entry is virtually free.
