I'd say Dravid and Gavaskar are the only batting greats from India.
It was Gavaskar who first broke the Don's number of Test Centuries, and it was Gavaskar who first scored 10000 Test runs.
Barring Dravid, all other Indian batsmen went to school on Gavaskar's batting.
Fair enough. Your definition of greatness and quality must be different then. General consensus however is that Tendulkar is greater.
