Seems that Shaheen has refused to take on the VC role for the T20 World Cup.

Quite apart from why he would take that on after being removed as captain, would he be a good choice?

What's even the role of VC? It's only useful if the captain gets injured and you need a replacement or if the captain needs a consultant.

Babar and shaheen's leadership tactics are worlds apart so they won't gell well.

And babar won't get injured, dude's a batter and doesn't usually occupy tough positions in the field as he's not a keeper nor a slip 90% of the time. Shaheen is more likely to get injured then him.

So I don't see a point of Shaheen being vc now with such conflicting ideologies on captaincy.

It’s just rubbing salt into his wounds, he’s a fast bowler, why do they want to cut his cricket balls for? are they looking for a scapegoat or something, they are really testing Shaheen. Amir wouldn’t stand for such politics and unprofessionalism, hence why he’s not a favourite. They need an expert who analysis bit by bit from their run up to bowling action and works alongside them to help them get better and extract the best out of their abilities.

Pakistan Cricket Board Breaks Silence On Shaheen 'Turning Down' Vice-Captaincy Row

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) on Saturday said the national selectors never offered vice-captaincy role to Shaheen Shah Afridi in the run-up to the next month's T20 World Cup in the Americas. Several reports claimed that Afridi was given a chance to be the deputy of Babar Azam when the Pakistan squad for the ICC showpiece was picked on Friday, but the left-arm pacer rejected the proposal. “The selectors were shocked with this news because when they held their nearly two-hour online meeting on Friday, six out of seven selectors were not in favour of having a vice-captain to Babar Azam,” a source close to one of the national selectors told PTI.

“The minutes of the meeting are on record as per the instructions of the PCB Chairman. So, today's news about Shaheen declining the vice-captaincy came as a big shock to the selectors,” he said.

However, it was revealed that in March a selector in his individual capacity had asked Afridi if he would be interested in the vice-captaincy in future. But the pacer declined the offer outrightly.

It was not surprising either because by that time it was obvious that Babar was going to replace him as the T20 captain after just one series.

On Saturday, several reports suggested that the offer of the vice-captaincy was made to Afridi earlier this week.

The source termed it as an effort by some outside elements to tarnish the image of PCB and selectors.

“Shaheen was obviously not happy when his captaincy term was cut short after he captained in just one series in New Zealand in January,” he said.

Fakhar is way too soft to be a captain, the tines he captained he led LQ to 4 losses on the dot?

Purpose of vc is to guide and lead, Babar is not gonna listen to anyone in the first place but even if he does fakhar is not the consultant to take advice from. He's a proper batter, but he's not captain material.

Shaheen knows that he could be a scapegoat in the future so he rightfully said NO. IMO, he should just focus on his performances atm and win games for Pakistan with his main Job and that is bowl nicely. No need to take extra work which makes no sense in the end for him.
