wow..101 pages..i think i should also make a comment on this page.. Shoaib Malik was the ideal batsman to come at 3/4, and one of the better fielders in the side..but he didnt have the personality..the character of a captain..and even the physique..if he had a wider frame and didnt look so shy, he could have stayed as a captain for longer..he had the talent..just didnt have that x factor..

Put Malik with those Abbotabad players and we will see. Leading a team with Nazir Rana Hasan and Shahid yousaf is easy. YK has been carrying his team so far. No one expected them to win a game. And YK has won the ultimate prize leading likes of Malik. His name will remain in history books for ever.

We Pakistani do not rate players for their x-factor...we like players who wins us matches :inzi and dislike selfish players :yk :srt

today i asked my neighbours for their wifi password and got it..a korean girl..anyway, really? what about shahid afridi then..he is liked for the x factor otherwise his stats are average... he is the most popular player in pakistan..shoaib maliks biggest achievement is sania mirza..and that's all

Yes... he got 4 wickets in the match vs mighty Quetta Bears ...and yet he did not bowl in this match against minnows like LL.

He was even bowling in President's cup!

I'm a Hafeez fan but a Stallions supporter, knew he'd be a boost to the Lions. Even if not batting (which honestly I think he is), definitely in spin and captaincy, both of which were weaknesses in the past few editions for the Lions. Lions look the best team in the tournament really by some margin, Stallions were the weaker team. Not surprised the Lions beat us, but thought we'd at least end up second in the group. Didn't realise we'd be behind on run rate. Wasn't to be unfortunately.

I'm surprised Malik didn't bowl, but don't think it'd make much difference. In fact the rest of the bowlers there are probably better bowlers than Malik anyway.

2) Nope, hafeez actually costed LL the match...it was Rana/Razzaq combination that fluked in LL's favor.
3) Yes.still the best...

lastly, this is a fake tournament...Real T20 will be held soon.

In first inning, LL's fast bowlers got late movement in last few overs..
19th over was fine...
so bringing-in rana was not a bad choice...

He got Kami out..(I thought Kami would win the match for LL)

but it seems Rana got carried away... and lost the match from a winning position... (lhe gave 16 runs in 2 balls)

Malik should have bowled earlier ...
but if we see..it was btw him and his brother adeel...so not real advantage as adeel got few wickets in previous match.

Malik himself seemed to be doing fairly decently, getting the odd wickets here and there and maintaining a good economy rate, so one would think that he would be bowling in such an important (do or die) match.

A tactical error there by him, I'm afraid.
 
BZ please see below.... the first picture is Malik's test career stats... average of 33.45.

Second picture is .... batsmen with 900 or more test since January 2011 (about last two years).... and notice Sachin's average of 32.79.

Question for you BZ:

Has Sachin become as good as Malik ..... or Malik has become as bad as Sachin?

I can never like Sachin type players...who can't perform under pressure.

as you asked a comparison, so I will just remove the period restriction as it's not fair to Sachin...as just b4 this period he almost broke moyo's record...

Plus, Malik is competing Pakistani players for a place...so it's just academic to compare him with a non-pakistani player..

No. It was not... the other possibility was that BPL official would have EXCLUDED from the list like they excluded Mohammad Irfan and others. But as usual you fabricated this one also.... as you always do.
 
Probably make or break for Malik this series. He'll definitely play against India as the T20 squad is been picked so that there is just enough batsmen (no batsman will be left on the bench). It's against his favourite opponent and if he does well, might even be called up to ODIs.

He shouldn't be part of the squad IMO given his performance over the last three years or so, but if he fails, I don't see even Malik staying in the squad.

That's what BZ and his other couple of fans said when he was picked for Sri Lanka series in UAE and in Sri Lanaka.

I dunno what Malik's favourite opponent is, but his record's a lot better against India and that what his fans say it is. Still didn't perform when we needed him in the T20 world cup against India though.

Part of the reason he's included in this squad even after a failure of the t20 world cup where he played all the matches, is because people think he'll come good against India. If he fails against India too, not sure how he can be picked anymore, people won't even be able to claim "at least he performs against India". The no. of failures as you've said is ridiculous.

Not really fair Malik's in the squad over others, but I do really believe if he fails now he'll be dropped. Course if he performs, he might stay for a good while longer based on these games against India. Which again not sure is fair (unless he keeps up that good form against other opponents), but will probably happen. Still as a fan of the Pakistan cricket team, hope he performs.

By the way BZ.... what is your "fall flat on your face yet again" prediction for Malik in these two matches? 200.. 100... 50....or a 40 like last time that he didn't? Come on .. you are used to this!

Fundamental point that I am trying to convey,,,that Malik ought to be leading the team and not some sub-standard captain...
