Should Malik be in the plans for the 2019 WC?

Give any domestic batsman(Faisal Iqbal included) 50 international innings and he will do more then 2 fifties and handful of 20s and 30s at strike rate of 60s in ODIs and 90 odd.

After today's another great innings (24 in 30 balls) of the century, Malik move up one spot .... from the previous position in the list;

1) His average takes a huge jump from 16.35 to a whopping 16.77.
2) Malik is now ahead of ZE Sarkari of Canada in batting average!
3) His S/R jumps from 65.25 to Galye like S/R of 66.22!

Well played. He tried his best to take Pakistan to get reasonable target, and had to play risky shot in order to accelerate the run rate up. Better to play according to the situation than to play for average.

Congratulation Pakistan, Time to celebrate.

It's kinda sad that people here are cynical now. Instead of celebrating for victory, backbiting like this - in this thread, presents ungrateful character in order not to appreciate the hard work and gives credit to where it belongs. It looks like people are used to be cynical. ;(
 
Malik is having a great series, and deserves his place on the plane to sa for limited overs cricket.

Anwar ali should also go as his bowling may be more useful in sa than the spin of hafeez or malik.

and reason seems that Indian players are against Dhoni.

Otherwise there is no logical reason for india not to chase 250.

I see a lot of changes going on BZ..... first you admired Misbah and Hafeez's leadership ..... next you drop Malik down from 3/4 to 3/4/5.

You had been saying all along that Misbah is going to get "found out' out side Asia (UAE).... and would NEVER win in Aus/SAF/ENG.....

BZ, I don't understand your blind obsession with Malik.. he is an ordinary cricketer whose only value is that he performs against the arch rivals India.

a) Maliks is better ODI captain than Malik.
b) Malik is better opening batsman than Hanif Mohammad.
c) Malik is MUCH better batsman than Younis Khan.
d) Sialkot Stallion are the BEST EVER domestic side in the world - because of Malik's leadership.

He was ideal for current situation but cannot play good pace bowling to save his life/career

I can understand that Malik has fans but seriously the guy is doing nothing for last 3 years. Scores a fifty and his fans say he is BAAAACK. Heard good things about kid named Haris Sohail. Where is he? Why is he not playing?
 
Time to update his ODI charts until his next 100 vs South Africa ... in South Africa.

Unfortunately he dropped below ZE Surkari of Canada and JK Kamande (Kenya) but on a positive side he is still ahead of brilliant batsmen like....
DT Johnston (Ire), NO Miller (WI), GP Swann (Eng), R Rampaul (WI) & KMDN Kulasekara (SL).

Malik is a must selection for South Africa for all three formats!!!!

BZ you think if we make malik the captain of the Pakistani team, and open the batting and bowling with him, we will become the no1 test team within a few months?
 
Was clearly not out today, got a bad decision. Pakistan have lost the games he's failed in.

Oh well, that's the end of the Indian specialist for another series, now he'll most likely go back to being a poor ODI player.

sory to say he has scored just 650 runs (combined in odi and t20) in last 58 matches at an pathetic average of 16 and only one 50 plus score latest against india in t20.
 
Malik has always been a mediocre player and still flatters to deceive. He is an India basher and that's it. Shouldn't be in the team.

what are you up to...... he bat at number 6 and averages pathetic 16 at shameful strike rate of 65 . . . look at dhoni he bats at 7 and averages 50 plus. . . . Angleow mathew bat at 6 and he averages around 40, raina bat at 6 he averages 35

I think that changing the captain might help.

Kami is attacking players and as we have see one by one all our attacking players have failed under Misbah...

in 3rd ODI, at half time I was so confident that Pakistan would win this match so easily that I didn't bother to watch Pakistani innings...

and was shocked to read the result at cricindia in the morning.

He and Afridi won us the T20 WC.

He played good innings in FBT20 ... so it's the job of support staff to sort out his issues...when he is not clicking...(Misbah, YK UA no one really clicked.

I do not think that there are any problem with Captain...but he is not clicking under this mind set...(defensive batting)

Re: Hafeez performed in this series and batted aggressively...
so as a second preference Hafeez is fine...

I think Hafeez is the best choice.

What are your predictions about Malik, Jamshed and Hafeez in SA?

Whenever Malik performs in India , Pakistan wins otherwise you know the result...

^I agree he was not out. He has had a decent time against time, but its no where close to what he use to deliver earlier. I think that he has stable a plateau and needs to do something his mental approach.
