Unlike you, I put the NATIONAL team interests above all other domestic team or favourite player loyalties.

Im surprised you havent been asking for Sania Mirza's inclusion somewhere

if he was the answer we would have been winning series long ago. he is just a flat track bully. record in england sucks.

Hafeez and Akmal were the only batsmen to show fight today infact
 
defienetly malik is not the answere in the first and secound odi thread against england pak made scores like 250 in 41 overs and 280 in 50 overs. If Mirza was there ( 28 consecutive fails) then pak would had lost 5-0.


Now i can even say that hafeez is much much much but way better then malik, infact hafeez is a legend infront of malik.

Yes they were good but there was no one to carry their good work through the innings.

Malik will have value on slower wickets like you have in Sri Lanka and India - where most of the WC is played.

I would consider bringing back Malik - not as a starter - but in the squad of 14-15 players. He is one of the top 15 players in the country and should be in the squad. He's still in his 20's and in his prime. A good fielder - which is always ignored when talking about Malik and a useful bowler.

IMO Malik will have more value to us in the WC pitches than Razzaq. I would take both to the WC and rotate them into the lineup and shuffle my batting lineup accordingly.

I'm fine with Waqar's coaching. All our bowlers have done great under him. Don't recall this much clean bowls and the success of Aamir, Asif, Gul and Akhtar in one season. Waqar has given the young guys a chance and we had a pretty good summer IMO considering where Pakistan is right now and what they faced. Had Aamir been available for this series, I think we would have taken it in 3-2 .

What people ignore in bringing in a foreign coach is that they haven't gotten any results at the world cup level nor do they communicate well with the players. Pybuss failed in 2003. Woolmer in 2007. When we won in 1992 Inthikab was coach. Really coaching is extremely overrated. You need talent, a good captain and a team that plays together.

OK tell me y the hell r u soo inlove with him, r u SANIYA MIRZA or r u Malik who comes to PP Everyday and tries too convince ppl to like him.

There use to be a time when malik was some kind off good.

But now he has just lost it.
 
I dont see malik coming back into the side for UAE, but then again you never know what :ibutt has planned

First of all where on the earth this Dare thing came. Pp is an open forum with keeping healthy discussion in mind but as far as I can see a senior and a reputed poster who is also one of the Mod is clearly trying to bully one of the poster with his post and authority only because he differ from his point of view. I am highly disappointed with this post of Oxy bhai.

Back to this bump there is no shadow of doubt that Malik is not in the league of Younis when it comes to batting but as far as batting against spinners is concern Malik and Younis are the only two batsman who can play spin very well as per now. Both of them knows very well how to use their feet and to nudge balls in fielding gaps.
 
Only way Malik should come back into ODI side is as an Opener if he prepared to go for his shots and attack! Otherwise NO recall!

Where I come from, using the term 'how dare you.....' is an indicator of what I think of his opinion of YK & Malik in the same sentence - NOT a reflection of me trying to prevent him have his opinion.

Interesting thought - but if Malik does come back to the side, and you keep Hafeez as opener does that pave the way to replace Ajmal? You would have Malik and Hafeez as off break bowlers and Afridi who can bowl leg spin. While clearly Ajmal is the best of the lot, assuming you could go with Gul, Asif and Akhtar as your attacking bowlers, would that be enough?

With Shoaib you may strengthen your batting.

Akmal (Keeper)
Hafeez (Off Spin)
Shafiq
Malik (Off Spin)
Akmal
Alam
Afridi (Leg Spin)
Razzaq (Medium)
Aamir (Fast)
Gul (Fast)
Akhtar (Fast)

You would have 4 quicker bowling options and 3 spinners. You'd probably be able to get 20 overs out of Afridi/Hafeez/Malik. 30 overs between Akhtar, Aamir, Gul and Razzaq. In cases where the pitch is more spin friendly, you use Hafeez/Malik/Afridi closer to 25 overs.

Just throwing out a way the Pakistani team can improve their batting while still staying a strong bowling team.
 
Malik should play the WC. If it was being held anywhere else I'd say no thank you.
Probably get Hafeez to make way.

He was not needed today had they picked a better squad. The top three was hideous.

P.S. nothing wrong with his form (comparatively with peers).
 
We really need him in the side...he wouldnt have been nearly as bad as this current lineup...

Regardless of what you think of them off the field the absence of Malik, Kami and Butt can be felt immensely atm...I dont even mind if his bowling is up to scratch anymore...in T20 and ODI's we could do with Malik the batsman at the very least...

Well Afridi didn't want Malik in squad.
ODI result wont be different.
 
Malik may get back in T20 and ODI sqaud if hes willing to maybe open.

Otherwise cant see him been selected for a while.

Which isnt a bad thing :)

Yes, he could be a useful addition to the LOI squads in subcontinental conditions and could do a good job in batting out the middle overs in ODIs

Thats all I see him doing. Should be in the world cup squad though
 
looks like most happy with thrashings if Malik is not in the team...

Just for a record, it's not good for Malik to be in team until butt is in charge...and rest :afridi :yk are just puppets.

but I do think Malik would have a difference, yes a difference of 5 runs maybe to the overall score which would have made South africa play 2 extra balls maybe. That's a big contribution!
 
I don't think Shoaib Malik is the answer.

Hafeez is almost the same guy, with less baggage
 
Hafeez has no clue how to bat.

Malik is a bit better with the willow.

But its basically a question of crap vs Bull Crap...

And Hafeez takes the Bull honors, cuz his batting is always very ordinary, and his bowling might be working in Abu Dhabi, but he gets pelted often enough everywhere else.

Even is Malik scores consecutive ducks throughout the year I'm sure our great Anwaar sahab will come up with some sorts of stats to declare Malik being the best sportsman to ever exist in any and all fields
 
Shoaib Malik should be a permanent member of T20 and ODI team. He couldve been used as a replacement for any of these players (for ODIs): Hafeez, Shahzaib, Farhat, Misbah, Umar akmal, Razzaq and Saeed Ajmal.

Our batting Line-up definitely needs Malik - but he's banned isn't he? Also age can't be on his side.. Otherwise only a fool would argue against his inclusion into the T20 and Odi side..

I just remember his clueless batting against Sri Lankan fast bowler Kulasekara.

If you ask me Afridi sucks as captain. And so have so many others before him.

No matter what Younus Khan did, he achieved what no other captain cud do. Unite a team to victory in a World Cup. I stand beside Younus Khan!!!
