Oh for goodness sake, how did we miss him? Even the younger players had better averages than him. And umar akmal playing at his position, 6, actually did quite a good job.

Yes, we chased down the target, didn't we...

what do you mean by "you"? Is that his personal team... and not yours..... or you are an Indian?

Afridi's fault?

yes, to some level...
but this downfall started when naseem ashraf resigned...lawson sacked...players refused to play under malik...malik was labelled loner..by pcb management..and was sacked...

afridi was also key player in revolt against yk...and then his childhood dream came true...and was made captain...(we all know he doesn't deserve to be in 11, on merit)...

now talk about this series, he and waqar are the culprits...
their infighting lowered the morale and sinked players confidence and hence you got the result.

Gr8 if Shoaib Malik returns

It would be fantastic if Shoaib Malik comes back, not only Malik but Kamran Akmal as well with Misbah captaining the side, with Saleem Malik or Ijaz Ahmed as coach, what a team that would be!!! Pakistan would achieve greater "successes" which I would abstain from watching, the matchfixer circle will be complete, just one thing though, if someone fixes Pakistan to get out under 100 runs, that'll be sheer delight as Shoaib malik has gotten his team out for 75 in the last Sri Lankan tour of Pakistan.
My ideal matchfixer XI
Ahmed Shahzad
Kamran Akmal[Wicket Keeper, CFO countryseller brokerage firm]
Umar Akmal
Misbah-ul-Haq[Captain, CEO countryseller co.]
Shoaib Malik [Vice Captain, C.O.O countryseller co.dressing room handling, recruiting new players towards matchfixing]
Faisal Iqbal
Danish Kaneria[special ops. for countryseller co. in county cricket]
Afridi
Gul
Raza Hassan[Ijaz Ahmed's favorite player]
Wahab Riaz
Adnan Akmal;12th man
manager:Saleem Malik[adviser, countryseller co.] coach and brother in law:Ijaz Ahmed

sorry, this team is not the real pakistani team,,,

:))

Just becuase your hero is not in the team?

Last time I checked, all of them were carrying Pakistani passports. None of them had Kanaydian (Canadian) citizenship or carrying Canadian passport! :P

why so many people selling the same item (pakistan)?
and who bought it, just wondering?

:asadrauf
yes, to some level...
Why " to some" level? Let's blame everything on Afridi!
How about global warming, Tsunamis, Earthquacks, etc etc etc.

but this downfall started when naseem ashraf resigned...
This? Does "This" mean "malik getting kicked out of the team"? ;-)

So, OK... Afridi planned DNA's resignation! Bad afridi!

lawson sacked...
Afridi strikes again.... bad bad ...Afridi!

players refused to play under malik...
Afridi must me the leader of those players. Bad, bad, bad, ... and very bad Afridi!

malik was labelled loner..by pcb management..and was sacked...
My heart goes out for you and Malik. You need a hanky to wipe your tears?
4qr3w2.jpg

afridi was also key player in revolt against yk...
Zore kiss pe hua...??? "also" peh! You mean, after planning DNA and Lawson's ouster, he planned a revolt vs YK??? What a scumbag!!!

and then his childhood dream came true...and was made captain...

How dare this rascal dream in childhood.....when everybody else dreams and plans in their adulthood! Specially when you have PPP govt in power and you ask Baji Fordous Sialkoti (or PM's son) to force you into the team! ;-)

(we all know he doesn't deserve to be in 11, on merit)...
yeh, yeh, yeh... he got all those 400+ international wicket with the "sifarish" of your Baji Firdous Sialkoti or was it PM's son?

now talk about this series, he and waqar are the culprits...
Why are you blaming innocent Waqar Bhai? It was always Shahid "Evil" Afridi and will always be him!

their infighting lowered the morale and sinked players confidence and hence you got the result.

So the win in the ODI series was at the sifarish on Baji Firdous or PM's son who called WICB to lose purposely?

do you respect head of state of pakistan :zardari ?

No......... but he is a genuine Pakistani (unlike you and me who ditched Pakistan for Kanaydian and umreekun passport) and he still carries a Paksitani passport and rides in a car with Pakistani flag on the hood of his car.

So... going back to your comment about "not real" Paksitani team.... what did you mean? If PM's son or Baji Firdous had tiwsted :ibutt arm to select your hero, do you think then it would have been REAL (sifarishi) Pak team?

Second... do you ever stop and think why there is no "personal" stuff out there for Misbah, Hafeez, Umar Gul and other players like these three ...for fans to act so defensive like you are?

Youre missing the point. It shouldnt concern fans if players have issues off the field (Malik) or if they dont (Misbah, Hafeez etc.). You just seem a bit too intrigued with cricketers' personal lives

Let me tell why it does and should concern the fans. Main reason being that these types on incidents define (or explain) the character of a player (or any celebrity). Let me show you the link....

... Malik marries a girl secretly. Admits marrying her on TV. Then he keeps denying it. He calls her a liar. He calls her parents lairs. He keeps threatening them with law suits. Then all of sudden admits marrying her and divorces her. Simply put , it means he has no respect for a woman who was his wife, law or religion.

... Now translate those moral values into Cricket when Ijaz Butt publically stated that he was pressurized by PPP Govt officials to include Malik into the team and lift the ban imposed after Aus/NZ tour. Again shows the moral values of this person...who is wanting to get selected by sifarish.

... Now lets translate the same moral values of Malik into cricket field. All the talk in the media that how he planned dirty politics in the dressing room for his own benefits, would have been easily refuted by fans if they did not know about above two incidents.

See the connection?

Malik (and all other celebrities) have to pay the price of being a celebrity. Media will dig dirt no matter what. In case of players like Malik, media does not have to dig deep or too hard. They present their dirt on a platter to the media.

You just seem a bit too intrigued with cricketers' personal lives

You are most welcome to ASSUME anything you want... but in this case, you are dead wrong!

We should judge them on their performance on the field, that's it.

As i said in the post above.... a lot of times, their off-the-field activities and behaviors do carry over into cricket ground. Why was Shoaib Akhtar banned/suspended most of his career...?? As yo know, rarely for what he did on the field.

At the end of the day, its up to the fan whether he/she regards a sportsman as a celebrity or not. I can safely say that Im not one of them. All of this is news to me and Im a fan of this guy as a cricketer. You on the other hand devote most of your time criticising the bloke and yet seem to be so updated about his personal life. Which is up to you if we you consider sportsmen as celebrities.

Not to draw comparisons with Imran Khan or anything, but one would think that given his quite 'colourful' life off the field, he would embody some of those traits when he was playing the game, but the man was the opposite of that when it came to cricket. Hence, the way a person if off the field, does not always mean that he is the same on the field

I see where you're coming from but it happens all over the world, not just in Pakistan. Guys like Warne, Shoaib (as we all know) and Flintoff also had their off field issues. They're remembered as greats for their countries. It's up to the player to ensure it doesn't affect his on field performances.

When was the last time you looked your avatar or looked at your post count? :)

Can hardly believe that you are so naive! Since you are a fan of him just a cricketer... then you must be happy that PPP govt forced Ijaz Butt to lift his ban imposed after Aus/NZ tour. Are you?

Sportmen are celebrities. I am not sure what you are saying. Just look at your avatar! How else people follow celebrities’ or famous people? Just in case, you do not know the meaning of "celebrity";

There is a huge difference between having a "colorful" life and being genuinely crook, cheat and liar. Imran never refused or denied his "colorful" life. He never denied any marriages. He never asked to be included in the team with Govt/political pressure.

Hence, the way a person if off the field, does not always mean that he is the same on the field
True... that is why there was only ONE Imran Khan where as players like Malik are dime a dozen!! At least three of them are sitting in a court in England right now! :)

But when a players forces Chairman of the Cricket Board via political pressure then it does impact cricket and the team. That's all.

If Malik can change himself and stop being such a d***, he would be a useful cricketer.

Im a fan of Malik (the cricketer). I have already stated this

Can hardly believe that you are so naive! Since you are a fan of him just a cricketer... then you must be happy that PPP govt forced Ijaz Butt to lift his ban imposed after Aus/NZ tour. Are you?

If he had so much power, surely he would have managed to make a comeback for the World Cup

You have the option of being interested in the personal life of an individual or not. I dont take much notice of the personal lives of sportsmen. They are not that interesting to me as oppose to say musicians or actors. Like I said, if you regard sportsmen as celebrities then so be it. Im not judging you.

And the rest of your post is just the usual hate.lol.

I'm sure it has an effect, however, that chapter needs to be closed now and a new leaf must be turned over.

Hold it Fireworks. On what basis is W63 even making this claim? And if he could use his :quote:political power:quote: to make a comeback in the past, whats stopping him returning now? Why didnt he use his :quote:political power:quote: to force his way into the side for the World Cup?

Was there any proof of that? I'm just assuming what he said was true.

Please refer to the picture in post #2624.

lol. You make no sense. I thought there was rational reasoning behind your dislike for Malik, but you just seem to be obsessed with him and kinda immature in your hate posts :ajmal

Why am I suppose to care what Anwar or Black Zero said? :))

And you can bring up all his off-field issues you want, Im not remotely interested. Im a fan of Malik the player (and yes I dont care if you or anyone else dont rate him). Let Allah judge him as a person ;-)

Since the day anwaar changed his name this thread is not the same.

Few reasons:

- actually now so many other to support and answer general queries about Malik.
- There is actually no new objection/question that I haven't addressed already in this same thread.
- Plus, no fun in telling kids that there is difference btw ayesha bhabi and maha appa.

can we please stick to the cricket, thanks.

AZ bro you know and I know, which guy is going personal. I dont mind him bringing up over complicated stats to make a point, but more often than not, he tends to become irrational and go overboard :yk

I am referring to all of you, not one person in particular.

Malik continues to be THE divisive figure in Pakistan cricket.

fascinating!

His past endeavours always spoil a cricketing debate about his potential recall; it needs to be quashed now.

ecm..as you have seen these clips, if they talked anything about cricket, could you provide summary...please?

things they talked about cricket I picked up were

Talked about Wasim Akram ''Wasim Akram is the best fast bowler of all time''

about MoYo ''Mohammed Yousuf's still very good friend of mine''

about Shoaib Akhtar ''Shoaib Akhtar's a legend, I have seen batsmen literally shaking even Aussies when they used to face him he has single handedly won us many games''

plus the usual stuff about himself keeping fit, cricket is my passion and I am working hard on my comeback stuff like that.......

hard to believe :)

in limited overs cricket no one is batter then shoaib malik even mohammad yousaf has avg over 40 but he is a poor fielder poor runner can't bolw and not fit for t20.malik with 35 avg better fielder and runner, can bowl also...

ODI XI

Hafeez
Opener
Malik
Misbah (c)
Umar
Shafiq
Hammad
Wicket-Keeper
Gul/Riaz/Junaid
Gul/Riaz/Junaid
Ajmal

why not?! :malik

the (apparently) major stumbling block to his selection is gone, so he should make a comeback.

If you mean Afridi then ...why is Afridi saying that the team was selected without his consultation? Why did Board play the "show us your assets" game with Malik then?

Malik could get another run in the team now, he's an experienced all-rounder. I'm sure he'll be ready to prove many doubters wrong.

- Afridi's reluctance/refusal to have him in the team.
- Lack of probable cause & cowardice of PCB.

Afridi had enough of a say in the first throes of his captaincy, and had made it clear then that he did not want Malik around.
