Fair pointsI have not seen the match (was not working from home today) so not in position to analyse accurately.
But as I said before, SS bowling is the root cause..
I know you rightly rate Adeel Malik , but I suppose there was a blame of nepotism on Shoaib so he tried to play safe so no one can point finger.
Regarding batting low, then it comes to Imran Nazir to provide some sort of platform.
If malik comes at 3 and get out (as it happened against LL) then you lose even fighting chance.
I have to agree on this point that his captaincy wasn't that sharp like before...
He failed to stop the flood of runs...previously, with little resources he performed really well..
One more point also need to be taken account for is the impact of Toss...
You win the Toss, Bat first and you win the match...
Isn't it strange that both (LL n SS) lost by similar margin?
You're right Nazir does bear responsibility as a senior batsmen. But that's his style, his batting is brainless, one day he'll win you a game, another he'll throw away his wicket. He doesn't bat with any sense of maturity. Which is why he isn't international class. And quite frankly everyone knows what to expect from him.
Shoaib should have come in at no3, as even coming at five with such a big total despite Malik's innings, the game was effectively gone by then. If Malik had scored big and no.3, and it was clear that other batsmen were batting much better with Malik at the crease too, we would have had more chance. Better to have taken the risk. Anyway, what frustrated me most was really the bowling changes.
Yeah batting first usually meant you won. Stallions put much more of a fight than I thought they would, in fact credit to them they looked one of the better sides chasing overall.
Disappointed with the fast bowling resources, is that all we have? Spin is decent with Adeel, Rehman and Shoaib Malik and Mansoor Amjad chipping in. Ali Khan looks good young batsmen though. Overall I fear stocks are wearing a little thin, while teams like Karachi, Rawalpindi, Lahore seem to have quite a few promising youngsters
