Seriously, it is a joke of the highest order. I have always campaigned for this useless player to be dropped, but even I couldn't imagine him being continually selected on the back of his current performances!

If he's not dropped now, he never will be.

The biggest tragedy is that this sifarshi is keeping Umer Akmal out of the test squad. Say what you like about Umer, that he needs to calm down or whatever, but Umer could never even dream of being as bad as Malik. So now the best batsman on tour so far is going home and the worst one is being treated with test cricket. Only in Pakistan.
 
Add Sohail Tanvir to the list too - what gunnah did we all do to deserve him. Disgrace of a bowler

Umar has more talent, ability and natural skill in his little finger than Mr. and Mrs. Mirza do in their entire clans.
 
Malik was actually quite good in the past...especially against India.

But unfortunately his time is up.

on the point above, im embarressed that i got my one and only award of qtw while praising this nobody..(it was in the woolmer era so maaf kurna)..

any youngster could have been there..the only reason we are prepared to destroy shafiqs career is to molly coddle this guy!

I really hope selectors and captain see sense and replace Malik and put Umar Akmal back into the test sqaud.

by the way where was yk at the same point in their career? and i mean career averages in all matches??
 
Never rated malik even when he was Bob woolmers brown eyed boy all those years ago. I said he was an average batsmen and would be found out and so i was right in the end!

and he gets three wickets and cleans up the minnows..que the return of Riff, BZ and that other annoying one!..

still not good enough..I would still drop him like a brick and bring in raza hasan in future if anotehr spinner is required!!

is there an easy way to see his domestic stats over the last couple of years, cant seem to find them on cricinfo.
 
OK now its time for his fans to compare him with Muralitharan or Shane Warne. And start saying He is better than Murali and Warne.

I think 200 ODIs are good enough for Malik... Now he should think of family planning and leave Pakistan team!

I will still remember some good innings that he played against India!

Wickets or not, Malik should do the honorable thing and withdraw his name from selection. Tanvir and Farhat should do the same.
 
what a change..when he failed his supporters go quiet..when he gets a couple of cheap wickets he's back to being a champ..cowards!

He was only bowled in the end so he could take some cheap wickets enabling him to have some sort of stats to justify his selection.

Misbah could have bowled anyone - Gul, Afridi, Tanvir...but no the malik cause is above anyone else.
 
So how does it work?

He's not expected to make runs against minnows and will only score against top teams BUT is it ok to accept a few wickets against a hopeless batting line-up and on a slow track offering spin??

Let's put this into perspective then.

Malik makes a second ball duck and takes 3 wickets for almost nothing.
Mahmadoulla takes 3 wickets or next to nothing and makes 30 odd runs.

Mahmadoulla must be the next Sobers!! Lol
 
Meh... i used to defend malik a lot back when he used to kick ass on Asian wickets.. now it seems the only team's ass he can kick is Pakistan's. It's been that way for a while now though... everyone's seen enough of him. he's only got himself to blame for his downfall.. his ego was too big to actually keep on playing cricket properly in the domestic circuit when he was dropped as skipper. plz leave now before ur effigies are burnt down!

Ok so in one hand, there is the option to post on PP and on the other hand, make use of the education that I have paid for. Its a difficult dilemma indeed :ajmal

It only took 12 years for this great discovery ....given the fact that Malik made his ODI debut in Oct 1999. ;-)

Malik fans must be ecstatic after Malik's final flurry of 3 wickets. Malik came back from the dead. Unbeliavble.
If it was not for those 3 wickets he was a gonner. Absolute gonner.

Somehow Malik conjured up some magic out of nowhere.

He was on a tight rope there but he's still hanging and lives to fight another day. He has confirmed his seat for the England series. Congrats to Malik fans

Your forgetting the long period when he was told to solely concentrate on his batting after his action was reported. Now it seems Malik is going back to his roots and trying to rediscover his love for bowling. Lets support him :14:

I used to like his ODI and T20 game (still thinks he is a better ODI player than YK and Asad Shafiq in ODIs). But right now he is just hurting Pakistan. He should not be selected for the England series on merit.

Talent is for real talent.... Malik is just a tailunt!
 
Give him some credit at least. We all know his batting has been worse than Ajmal and Gul combined but his bowling has been excellent and todau he was a factor why we won the match.
 
MashaAllah after a good performance with the ball Malik has jumped to 82 in the ICC bowling rankings!

Hopefully this upwards curve continues.
