THE RULES

The rules of Sixes cricket are very simple and quite different to any other format of the game.

Games are played between two teams of six players, and each game consists of a maximum of five six-ball overs bowled by each side.

Each member of the fielding side bowls one over, with the exception of the wicket-keeper.

Wides and no-balls count as two runs.

If five wickets fall before 5 overs are completed, the last remaining batsman bats on with the fifth batsman acting as a runner. He always takes strike. The innings is complete when the sixth wicket falls.

Batsmen retire not out on reaching 31 runs. The idea being to reach 36 runs by hitting 6 sixes. A retired batsman can return to the crease after lower-order batsmen either retire or are out.

I don't think this format is a good way to judge someone's cricketing ability. Especially a newbie's who is just starting out and this is his first "tour".

If honk Kong circus was some sort of a standard then Imran nazir would have been a cricketing great and we would be seeing the likes of Kohli and Smith participate in these tournaments regularly.

The one thing you actually can praise here is if the bowler goes for only a handful of runs, like Hammad giving away only 3 runs and taking 1 wicket in the semis.

The opposition quality and pitch and ball state make it a bit hard to accept but I see where you're coming from, keeping it tight is perhaps something that can be fairly evident in this event.

This tournament is absolutely no yard stick into judging a batsmans potential. The reason he's struggling is he isn't someone that muscles the ball, which is essentially the only primary skill required in this tournament.
