South Africa [141/4] demolish Pakistan [140/9] with 6 overs to spare in 2nd T20I; series tied 1-1

I am not worried about this series we will win it. But lower order need searching big times. I think If Amir can make a come back and we have hassan ali at 8 and amir 9 we have good decent lower order.
 
It appears as though neither Babar nor the bowlers are communicating.

Markram will flay his hands at anything on the pads, full, or short in length outside off. What's the only area he hasn't hit the ball convincingly? Top of middle stump.
 
Markham can accelerate like not many can. Just needs to learn to bat big and be more sensible with shot selection.
 
Hopefully its a lesson for Babar never bat at wanderers, its a batting paradise on second time batting.

And they did last match when he tried to tonk and went out, posters were showing he should just play his normal game.

True, but our bowling has been quite poor to say the least. Not targeting his weak areas. Instead, bowling right into his strong zones.

It's poor captaincy to take off Shaheen at this stage. This is where the game will slip from us, need to use your best bowler in this situation.

This is how he will build confidence. Once you score big a couple of times, it builds confidence.
 
Out of 4 innings so far that Nawaz has appeared in (2 batting and 2 bowling), he is currently 1 for 4. That's not good enough at the moment.
 
Looking like a very close game here. Too close to call at this point.
 
Markram has improved immensely against spin.

This year has been very important for him.

Pakistan has put him in form

Classical Pakistan. Bringing average players into great form.

No bowling plans, no bowling matchups, nothing.

I know that our batting choked today, but still. A team can at least try to fight before losing. Pakistan is just playing horribly right now.
 
All the people who are praising Babar for his worst innings in a T20 vs SA D side prove that as a cricketing nation we now have minnow's mentality.
 
There was so much pressure on Babar hence he played this slow knock and what benefit did it cause to Pakistan here ? Those slow runs are as good as nothing , SA still chasing this with ease. Should have rather tried to get some quick runs and give the team a small chance of a victory by setting a target of 165-170.

Markham is not average but it's been a poor day for Pakistan in all facets.
 
Compare the fifty scored by Babar to the knock played by Makram here.
 
That's the only way Qadir will get wickets. Someone throwing it away essentially.
 
It doesn't even look like the bowlers are trying to win the game. No match awareness, no use of fielders, nothing.

Babar also showing his poor captaincy right now by taking Shaheen and Hasan off. Use your best bowlers, if they can't do it, then at least you lost knowing that you've tried your best bowling options.

I am genuinely concerned with Babar's captaincy. Anyone with any cricketing sense would bring their best bowlers on right now to cut a hole in South Africa's middle order. Instead, we bring Nawaz who's been clobbered today.

Spinner is the only thing that will bring us back. Pacer will for easy runs.

I'm fine with Qadir but Nawaz was carted around. It may look like he bowled a good over but SAF have done the job. They will take singles and win unless you bring a bowler who can strike.
 
This is where a positive intent gets you. These 2 can take a bit of time as they started so well. Babar playing slow because of the middle order is kinda dumb logic. If the middle order is so so crap, what can they do if we are on 120 with 5 overs left on a flat track lol?

Pakistan need to get over obsession of spiners who are merely slow bowlers and are average with bat , you need to bring in couple of specialist spinners

Yes, we shouldn't confuse the current bowling with being good. The batsmen are taking it easy now.
 
There is spin in this wicket and we bring.qadir so late ...also nawaz hasnt bowled well.at all. I would even bowl hafeez

Imad cant spin the ball to save his life...this is the first bad game for nawaz as a spinner..

Any good batsmen can hit RISK FREE boundaries in T20 after facing 25, 30 balls. Come a run a ball is pathetic, even 50 ball 70 would help Pak reach 160. Smith, Kohli, Willimason can hit boundaries at will, on the ground without taking risk after facing 25, 30 balls

Harsh considering he was man of the match in last T20 match in Pak. Bowled really well in third ODI (His two in an over were crucial) and bowled well in last T20 too. Yes batting other than last T20 in Pak has struggled.

Thank you for saying something logical.

Babar doesn't have the shot selection to get runs without risk. He can find singles and doubles, but boundary hitting without risk is tough unless it's in his zone.

Given Pakistan's logical thinking, being as marvelous as it is, they'll save Shaheen for the 19th over thinking that their other bowlers can hold the rate.
 
You can question Babars captaincy here . Why not bring Shaheen on? Lol the game won't even go to 20 overs. Don't care if Faheem gets a wicket now. Top batters will take him apart at this stage so this tactic won't work often.

Yes was a poor knock by his standards but, unlike today his SR is generally decent. However, power game requires improvement.
 
This really is poor bowling and poor captaincy from Babar.

Yes, Usman is doing well right now. But you can't bring on an all-rounder when you have two wicket takers in Hasan and Shaheen.

No thinking whatsoever.
 
Klassen is a good player. He didn't show it in the ODIs but has shown quality in the T20s.

Yep, the goal was to prevent a major over right now and to take Klaasen. Faheem should not have bowled right now. Shaheen and Hasan should be bowling right now because there's not much left in the game.

so what happened to the rest of the batsmen, hafeez is meant to be in the form of his life, sharjeel was ou power hitter saviour, whi is it always babar? babar is not superman that he gonna score every game. Lets deal with facts rather than xx batsmen would do this or after xx balls you should hit this many boundaries. Our top order collapsed, babar had to consolidate to ensure we got a decent ish total, otherwise it would have been 110/120 to chase. You guys put babar in a catergory he doesnt belong to then expect him to bat like kohli. LOL

Pakistan are playing it's top team (according to selectors and management at least) almost in every match, but they just can't win any match or series emphatically even against second string teams, every win is a torturing one. But the rubbish management get's over-happy and think they have acieved alot.
 
I am genuinely surprised with this captaincy. Babar sees that his all-rounders are being bashed by South Africa's D team, and opts not to use his main bowlers. Does he think we can defend this total? The goal is to take wickets. If Hasan and Shaheen bowed their complete quotas, and we still lost, it'd be understandable. This is asking to lose the game.
 
The games we have won in this series have been close. This is a South African C side and they will beat us easily. This is not acceptable . Losing can happen. But this has not even been a contest.
 
Sharjeel is even worse fielder than I remember. He doesn't look like he's even trying in the field.
 
What a one sided thrashing it has been, SA are batting at almost 10 rpo. Atleast SA fought till the last over in the first T20 but Pakistan gave no fight today.

A contest would have been bringing our best bowlers instead of our poor all-rounders.
