Hopefully, we will get to watch SA middle order bat this time.

This same pitch will turn into bowling paradise when bd batsmen will be batting.

It seems to be on the slow side. That has to do with the pitch being under covers due to rain the past few days. Will probably get quicker as the day progresses.

This partnership has been a lesson in strike rotation. Only 3 boundaries but they're going at 5 an over

So far, 4-0 to us ..... we have won all 4 toss. Even Sarfraz is trailing 1-3, that too against Srilanka.

It's too easy for AB you score 60 balls hundreds. Isn't it? This would take a bit more balls though.

Ab is in a different league when it comes to hitting abilities.

Kohli is not in his league in that regard

SA is going to win this by at least 140 runs. Tamim will make duck or less than thirty. Sir Imrul and Sir lito will make 20 odds. Mushfiq will fail today. Shakib too. Who to score more than 7.5 runs per over rate

Bangladesh were lucky he didn't played 3 OdI series Vs SA in Ban in 2015 when he was at the peak of his powers.

ABD is absolutely insane, Has no respect for pitch and conditions, He was batting on a different planet. Amla did well as well, Decent knock.

P.S. Was going through ABD's stats on cricinfo and found an interesting stat, ABD has played 20 ODIs in India and has 7 Hundreds in these 20 matches which is crazy, 7 in 20. This guy has almost done it all, Even performed in KOs and will possibly end up The Second Greatest of All time behind King Viv.

AB reminds of Jayasuriya at his peak time and Sehwag. Both destructive players. But AB has taken the game to another league, he makes the best bowlers look like street bowlers when in hitting mode.

Tamim is one of the best opener in a modern day cricket

Better than De Kock, Amla, Dharwan, R. Sharma, Warner, Finch, Guptill? Basically what I'm saying is there's a bunch of good ODI openers right one.

He is equivalent to Viv of this era. For people like me who never watched Viv bat live, I can only relate to AB in terms of sheer brutality. Obviously, for people who have watched them both bat live can have their opinion being Viv being far better, which I know is also true.

But come to think of it, 20 years down the line from today. AB would be spoken of as Viv is remembered now.

Tamim > De Kock, Finch, Guptill but < Amla, Dharwan, R. Sharma, Warner,

Dude Tamim averages 34 at a strike rate below 80. He's better than anything Bangladesh has produced before but lets not over do it.

CRICKET SOUTH AFRICA (CSA) today congratulated the Standard Bank Proteas on their achievement in winning the Momentum ODI Series after they beat Bangladesh by 104 runs in the second game of the three-match series at Eurolux Boland Park on Wednesday to take an unbeatable 2-0 series lead.

“This is another important step forward for our new leadership team headed by national head coach Ottis Gibson and captain Faf du Plessis and congratulations are due to them and all the players and management staff,” commented CSA Acting Chief Executive, Thabang Moroe. “This also marks the start of our campaign to achieve a successful outcome at 2019 ICC World Cup and it represents a significant start.

“There have been many fine individual performances by the likes of Hashim Amla, Quinton de Kock, AB de Villiers, Andile Phehlukwayo and Kagiso Rabada but a standout feature has been that this has been very much a team effort with our experienced senior players making their mark and younger players also coming through to broaden our playing pool.

“Hopefully they can complete a clean sweep of the series at Buffalo Park in East London on Sunday to regain the ICC No. 1 ranking in this format.

“I would also like to thank and congratulate the unions that have hosted these matches. They have been extremely well supported,” concluded Mr. Moroe.

AB DE VILLIERS announced his return to international cricket in the most emphatic, imperious and sublime manner possible with his 25th career ODI century and remarkably his first ever against Bangladesh in the second Momentum One-Day International at Eurolux Boland Park on Wednesday.

The fact that the Proteas won by 104 runs and clinched the series with a 2-0 series lead paled into significance against the backdrop of De Villiers brilliance.

It is almost vulgar to describe a De Villiers innings in terms of statistics because that is not what this great player is all about. He is a player who radiates class, flair, improvisation and a determination to challenge convention.

Yet this was one day when his statistics did tell a sort of story. When he came to the crease the Standard Bank Proteas had scored 90/2 in 18 overs for a scoring rate of exactly 5 runs to the over. Unbelievably, the Proteas top three batsmen had hit only 3 boundaries although this was in a large part due to the slowness of the outfield following 3 days of rain.

By the time he had finished he had made a career best 176 off 104 balls and made possible a total of 353/6 that was to prove way beyond the capabilities of Bangladesh and thus played the major role in clinching the series. It was the fourth best for South Africa behind the 188 of Gary Kirsten, the 185 of Faf du Plessis and the 178 of Quinton de Kock. Kirsten’s record was his for the taking going into the final 3 overs but then De Villiers it not the sort of player who would be worried about that.

The real statistic of his innings was the fact that he hit 15 fours and 7 sixes while the total contribution of all the other South African batsmen was 5 fours and 1 six. At one stage at the crescendo of his innings he hit 6 sixes and 2 fours in the space of 14 deliveries.

As always, his ability to hit boundaries where others were struggling were the result of his innate gifts of timing, silver quick footwork and the ability to pick length quicker than most mortals. His cover driving was peerless but the shot of the innings was his pull to midwicket off a delivery from the left-arm spin of Shakib Ul Hasan to a delivery that was not particularly short.

After the business as usual opening stand of 90 between De Kock and Hashim Amla, De Villiers was involved in stands of 136 with Amla – this was both a ground third wicket record and a third wicket record against Bangladesh – and a further 117 with JP Duminy. The latter contributed only 20 to the first 100 runs of that partnership.

And so one could go on. He has now scored ODI centuries against all his major opponents. Ireland remain on his still to do list as does Scotland and he has yet to play against Afghanistan.

The South African total was a ground record but fell 5 runs short of South Africa’s best against Bangladesh.

Rubel Hossain (4/62) was the most successful Bangladesh bowler although Shakib was undoubtedly the best (2/60). It was his double strike to remove De Kock and Du Plessis that must have given Bangladesh hope after they had won the toss but then they ran into the full might of De Villiers….

The visitors nevertheless gave it a good shot in going for the runs with both Imrul Kayes (68 off 77 balls, 6 fours and a six) and Mushfiqur Rahim (60 off 70 balls, 4 fours and a six) reaching half-centuries but what has been a problem throughout the tour – the inability to put together match-winning partnerships) – once again cost them.

They went into the last 20 overs needing 187 for victory and the game gradually drifted away from them.

Imran Tahir did his normal wicket-taking job in the middle overs (3/50 in 10) and the bowling performance was generally better than in Kimberley although they were not helped by some missed chances in the field.

Andile Phehlukwayo finished the match with career best figures of 4/40, his second four-wicket haul, improving on his previous best of 4/44 against Australia.

De Villiers was named Momentum Man of the Match.

Series result would have been same - check the margin. I am not happy today indeed, but SAF got whipped in that decider more than this; no point bringing such comparison.

SAF toured India just after that and AB won his team 5 match odi series by smashing 3 hundreds in them.He was at insane peak back then.

You think it would be harder to beat Bangladesh in Bangladesh.SAF would have won that series because they have always been dominant in bilaterals.

IND lost to SAF 3-2, and 2-1 to BD. SAF lost one in 27 overs by 7 wickets, one in 26 overs by 9 wickets - do you think one AB was that good to reverse those? Then, why he has failed to win a single ICC KO match in his career?

If you look at SA team, they generally collapse when they lose two three wickets early.Whenever they have scored big, its because of top4. Someone like Jp is useless from dinasaur's time. AB on song will take the game away much faster than anyone else. That is why his skills are regarded as so outrageous.

And most importantly for SA, winning a bilateral series away from home is much easier than winning an ICC KO. Its not the case with Asian teams who generally struggle overseas in ODIs and tests both. That's why they never won it in past and won first time recently under AB's captaincy thanks to Tahir's bowling.

Would have, should have, just leave it, even if you are in your life’s form it is not given you will perform on all surfaces.
BD won that series, credit to them and here AB smashed them so well done to him.
