As soon as people write Anderson off, he comes up with a ripping spell. Beautiful swing bowling.

'can't swing the Kookaburra', lol.

The Coward looks on course to scoring another hundred, albeit a meaningless one.

A few whisperings out there that South Africa's priority is to avoid defeat in this game as opposed to win it, and the scoring rate so far would support this theory. Abbott will be unable to bowl for the rest of the match as well. And there is still some rain expected at some point. So England are by no means guaranteed losers. For me currently it's:

60% SA win,
30% draw,
10% England win.

SA is a defensive squad....that's why i respect OZ more than them even with all those sledging BS.

What a shot from Bavuma, ridiculous :))

Why do people say 'ridiculous' when they mean 'good' ? :20: To me an example of a 'ridiculous' shot is the one that Hales hit down backward point's throat.

ABdV had better declare soon. There is rain on the way and Poms can get a draw here.

Get to 400 and declare. If Rabada can get Cook and Compton early, South Africa will have nothing to worry about.

SA rarely does declare without safety..one match I remember when Smith declared early in last match of series where OZ leading 2-0...Ponting hit a winning 100 along with another 100 in first innings of his 100th test.

Can't really complain about the rain, farmers haven't had a good season. Still annoying...

What choice do they have? Abbot can't bowl . Mirne had to share the new ball.

1. Nobody chased more than 300 in this ground

2. They can bat quickly rather than playing slowly @ <3 RR

You should take chances, series is lost but if you don't even try to win matches not going to help.

ATG Cook makes an ATG exit. South Africa should win this game now.

Nice captaincy by AB so far..have to appreciate even when his form is gone down he is managing well....

SA have found a real superstar in Rabada. I hope that SA protect him from workload as it's important that he doesn't play every single game especially at his age if he wants to have a long career. If only Steyn was fit for the whole series, I think SA would have won the series. Delighted to see Amla back in form. He is such a joy to watch and I can't wait for SA's next test series.

As for England, it looks like they would be trying another opener again as Hales has looked like a deer in the headlights.

I have personally lost respect for him with the way he chickened out of captaincy mid-series with the team in crisis. Simply has no heart and is a failure outside his comfort zone.

Doesn't have the stomach to lead an unsettled side. Classic fair-weather captain.

Like you ever respected him to begin with. But keep crying as Amla is making your life even more miserable and I'm loving it. :))

Root getting away with one there. Big miss by SA.

SA need 7 wickets & England need 330...90% SA win, difficult even for Stokes to produce a magical innings in this pitch.

Excellent attacking captaincy by AB , Series should have more closer if he is Captain from beginning.

England need it to rain. They've lost too many wickets already.

South Africa most likely to wrap up the win and they deserve it to be honest.

2-1 to England would be a fair overall result.

He would most likely have failed with the bat in the first and second tests too!

That he did any way :)

What do you think about tomorrow? England will last 2 sessions or match over in first itself?

I hope we get 80 overs..don't think Root/Stokes going to just defend whole day if they last long.

One long partnership and England can still save it - more rain is coming. Though I don't expect Stokes and Bairstow to dig in for long.

SA will probably win with a session to spare if the rain holds off.

Ridiculous -> preposterous -> ludicrous -> something so shocking that it's actually hilarious.

That was most definitely a ridiculous shot.

Shoaib Malik chickened out and gave up tests, it did not made him lose respect for SM. Getting bounced at 80mph thunderbolts and eventually giving it up. :)))

Poor understanding as usual. Malik wasn't the captain and he doesn't deserve a place in the Test team anyway, except as an all-rounder in UAE with Hafeez unable to bowl. Overall he had a good series. Double century + bowled better than so-called specialist spinner Babar.

Amla is the best Test batsman in South Africa and was also the captain. In these difficult times with the team not doing well, he has opted to chicken out of captaincy because he has no heart to lead an unsettled side. Simply a fair-weather captain.

I knew has no heart, but to this extent? No.

He definitely has made life miserable for his fans on this forum, who are desperately attempting to make his act of cowardice look honorable. :))

You and your obsession with the # is 'ridiculous' as Robert would put it. Give it a rest and stop whining. It's better to focus on your 'ATG' Alistair Cook who has scored ~150 runs in the series iirc. :amla >> Cook :)

Pitch misbehaving quite frequently now. Will be very hard to get past this session.

As expected not going to last long...

Congrats AB....better captain than his predecessor.

Aa a batsman yes, as a leader and captain it is not even a comparison.

The ODIs are going to be great. Stokes, Bairstow, Taylor, AB, QdK, Miller, Faf, Morgan and Amla. Some exciting batting to admire.

Fielding let you down..,.i guess all 3 first innings centurions dropped early.
Allowing Dane piece to play 100 balls..lol

Yep that's where we lost it. I looked right from the start batting last will be very hard. It's a shame we couldn't hold on to our chances.

Hopefully this loss will remind them to keep working hard.

Lol

Game changed quite a bit since I've been away for the whole 40 minutes
