Yasir scored a 100 in Australia, in 2016-17 the tail and Asad almost chased down 500 on there own against Australia. A tail of Hasan, Yasir, and Nauman is much better than what we’ve had in the past.

Man we’ve never had a good opener apart from Saeed Anwar, even Saeed’s best format wasn’t Tests.

But this current top order is awful, Azhar’s been great for us in tests but it’s time for him to retire he’s washed. As for the openers we playing they should stick to FC.

Pakistan tail had potential before as well , but they were never serious , never worked on their skills.
For example Fawad and Azhar Ali both are steady bowlers , but they seldom bowled.
 
Excellent session for pakistan. Lets hope we can get lead over 300 and hopefully rizwan can get a 100.

Saeed was an all-conditions test opener and has played extremely impactful test innings everywhere.
His record in SENA in tests is substantially better than what it was in odis; the kinds of hundreds he scored were literal ATG knocks in terms of their impact.
An average of 45 for a fast scoring opener in the 90's is also ATG level; too bad he didn't play enough tests to get counted by everyone.
 
Pendulum swings again, good fightback from Pakistan. They surely will have enough runs to play with now.

That was a beautiful shot from Rizwan. I don’t know if the pitch has become more friendly but Pakistan are doing well.
 
I think this game is out of reach for SA now.

250 would have been a difficult chase and I would have taken that this morning but now 320 and over is going to be very hard.

Rizwan has played a gem, again.

This hopeless and hapless South African side can try their guts out and won’t score anything above 200 they just don’t have it in them nor they are determined to go for it. De kock has shown a giving up attitude and body language since day one. Their coach amidst the series has already said he will be let go of the captaincy burden after the series he was just a temporary captain so I see no reason why Pakistan need to be scared of this South African side chasing 200+ let alone 300

I know SA are poor but no harm in getting lead up to 350 and then having a go at SA and really turning the screws.
 
Knowing Pak batsmen record for scoring centuries I would not be surprised Rizwan going out fee runs short of the landmark.
 
Highest successful chase at Rawalpindi is 220.

That was Sri Lanka beating Pakistan in 2000, in a match where YK scored his first ton.
 
I was thinking we should declare after Rizwan's 100 but that would deny Chacha his 50 or even more.

Only those that change their judgement on players on series basis. In last test someone was arguing with me Rizwan is not world class just because he had not yet scored a century in short career batting with poor tail support uptil now.
In this test posters were calling Rizwan tick just cause he got couple of reviews wrong.
 
I hope some of our main batsmen are looking at the defensive technique of Nauman against spin. Yes he is a left hander and it can be easier to play ball coming in but his technique overall has been pretty decent.

He has never gotten out to spinner in his test career till now so we can even say the best player of spin in Pak test lineup.

Solid defense gets behind the ball, doesent play around it. This guy should have debuted way earlier. chacha is a handy batman and good spinner.

We will get bowled out soon so just go for shots after Rizwan century. There is plenty time to bowl out SA,but we should put the score beyond their capability to chase. They have some decent batters who are capable of big innings like Elgar, Dussan, DuPlesi and the captain, if Pak bowl rubbish and wicket remains flat.
 
SA has bowled 94 overs till now in 2nd innings of Pak and Rabada has bowled just 11 overs. Knowing how good Rizwan has been against spin and Rabada being their best bowler I think SA missed the trick.
 
To those saying chacha should ve debuted earlier needs to know that he started putting these kind of performances in last 2 seasons
