Odds on for a draw here, the SA attack doesn't look capable of finishing them off and de Wet is limited by injury.

LOL smity must be tearing his hair apart now :))

Maybe he needs to take captaincy lessons from Ponting, he knows how to finish off matches.

Or may be he start to play against Pakistan so that we can gift him matches for free.

222 balls to block...

S.A only need one wicket to get into Englands tail . I cannot see Bell and collingwood block 222 balls

I can. A wicket hasn't looked like falling. Anyway apart from Onions England has the strongest tail in world cricket. This match is a draw. SA will be disappointed that their bowlers just haven't shown the penetration to break through.

Tea and still 5 wkts left to get. England will have to do a pakistan to loose from here, and they are capable of it.

Prior averges 40 in tests, Draco 37, Swanny 45....

Eng 230-5 @ TEA

Looks like a draw but you never know..!

W-O-W. This has far exceeded any of our realistic expectations. It's not over yet, but what a great effort. Even Jimmy for 45 minutes, absolutely critical. And to survive the new ball completely was a mild miracle. I hardly dare dream it could happen. But if this happens it will be massive for us and the series.

The fact that Anderson was in for so long showed that it was going to be virtually impossible for SA to bowl them out. You'd have to be a poor batsman to get out on this highway. England would be embarrassed not to force a draw here. Since day three it's been a bowler's nightmare.

told ya . . what do SA need to surpass iindia ? . . :inti

Pitch is as flat as you can get.

No spin for the spinners.

South Africa's only chance was with the new ball after lunch. Steyn bowled beautifully. Credit to Collingwood. He didn't edge anything.

Both Bell and Collingwood are settled now.

However Steyn is back. What can he do?

These two have batted for over 40 overs up to now .

Please make note Moyo and co.

SA won't be ranked #1 in the near future, their bowling attack is too powderpuff.

26 overs to go. If these two can remain there for another 6-7 overs I will say England will be able to secure the draw. But if one of them fall in that time, I reckon SA will run through the rest.

150 balls to block. Thats twice as many balls required to take 11 pakistani wickets :)

I think RSA can forget about No 1 now not only in the immediate future but also in the entire future.

if the quota system is to be expanded, RSA can very well join the ranks with zim and kenya

They lack a good spinner.

Harris doesn't cut it. I'd get in Imran Tahir asap.

Only the Pakistani team make average spinners look world class.

still 150 balls to go. The key danger zones have been survived: straight after lunch and tea, and the new ball. Home stretch baby! Still could go wrong though.

Harris is a really poor spin bowler. Proteas need to replace him with Imran Tahir

Under 20 overs to go now. I can't see England losing from here. Even if one of these two go, I reckon Prior, Broad and Swann can keep it together for less than 20 overs.

14 overs to go...

Current partnership 111 runs, 55.3 overs, RR: 2.00 (Collingwood 38, Bell 68)

Now that's how you save a test match.

17 overs to go. The 2 captains might as well shake hands and call it a draw :)

Hopefully England draws this match. And if S.A can't win the next Test (which means they lose the series), India remains on top of the rankings for a much longer period :D

will RSA drop down rankings if they lose this series???

I reckon they should be down to No 5

indian looking for charity, not unusual :))

Collingwood out !

Will England collapse now like Centurian?

CHOKEafrica strike finally!

Phew, will england be england and collapse or show some spine?

just as I check the ENg vs SA score on cricinfo..Collingwood goes..I guess I jinxed him..

prior, Broad, Swann all can bat so england should be ok here!

Duminy is a better spin bowler than useless Harris

13 overs to go - I reckon Bell might fall , but Prior , Broad and Swann will be able to see it through.

S.A needs to get Steyn to bowl now. Another wicket and they could sniff a victory

Steyn tried
morkel tried
de wet tried
harris tried

and finally who gets the wicket? DUMINY! Shows a lot about RSA bowling

Prior out!!!

Duminy on fire....

S.A can now smell a win

Duminy msut be made South Africa's first choice spinner. He is much better than useless Harris

Broad edges!

Duminy unlucky not to get his 3rd wicket

Another wicket here and cat would be among the pidgoens.

I think thats a hasty call from the umpire.. should have gone with a few more replays

can RSA Choke again?

I dont know how a bowling side can choke.. maybe if Smith suddenly starts captaining like yousuf but thats unrealistic, smiths a smart guy.

:))) :)))

Duminy is absolutely bamboozling Broad. Broad is clueless onhow to play duminy

I belive RSA choked in the first test rite??
they could not get ONIONS out for god's sake?

Steyn if he reverses a few might get a breakthrough here. Has to make the batsmen play.
