When was the last time a #1 ranked team had an innings defeat ?

I am just glad that the batsmen fought back. A draw will be nice but it will probably take a miracle. Anyway, hoping that this test fight back will give the boys the confidence to do better in the next two tests.

Saffer - do you think SA wasted too much time waiting for a Kallis double hundred when they knew well that forecasts werent that great?

No way. I would have batted until tea. Why risk batting again ?

Harris is a seriously underrated bowler. Has proved me wrong and others I'm sure.

I've been saying it for a while - the more that people underestimate him, the more wickets he'll take.

He may not get much turn, but he has height which means he gets lots of flight. Flight is one of the things that can deceive you, not just turn.

match is not ovr guys. India will score anouther 160 runs and set a target of around 130 for SA. SA will choke and crumble for 125.

And the same evening, the Kashmir problem will be amicably resolved and peace will reign in the subcontinent!

yea and at the same time ICC will clear Butt, Asif & Amir and will punish England for fixing the matches! ;)

Cmon India! Fight as much as you could today..Let us bat as much as we could if not go down fighting. Sachin would be determined to not give away the match he conquered the cricketing 'Everest' (even against all odds)

I am sure he would give his all to fight as much as he humanly could. Cmon Sachin..we are all behind you.

One thing this match illustrates is no matter how much India talk up the rest of their team, they ride on the wings of Tendulkar. You take Tendulkar out of this team and they would struggle big time with belief.

Anyway, come on sun, let the Saffers deliver the pwnage!

Bright and sunny right now.

So looks like 1-0 down going to Durban for the 2nd test. WOuld love it if we can wipe out the SA lead and make them bat again. That would be quite an achievement and give us some confidence ahead of the Durban test.

I am surprised mate that you - an Aussie are discounting VVS 'the Aussie slayer' Laxman. :yk

I would wait till the end of the series to pass on definitive comments on the rest of the batting line up bar Raina..

surprisingly in the last 5 years, there is hardly any match between SA and India which is evenly played, it's like either team pummelling the other. the only one I can remember which was some what evenly fought was the third match during our last tour.

What I am saying is the house is built on one foundation. You understand?

Disagree. VVS has bailed us out off late from difficult situations as well. Dravid used to do it previously...not offlate, so you might have a point there.

Once again I am talking about the mental side, not the performance.

Nearly there :hamster: 9 down

Tendulkar wants to go not out and exposing the No 11 on the first ball of the over. What a great batsman

Tendu taking a single of the first ball of the over while batting with #11 ... says it all about him.
