South Africa v India | 2nd Test | Durban | Day 4 | 29/12/2013

India should aim to bat throughout tomorrow (score about 250/3), get some batting practice. Plan for future. NZ Tour should be relatively easier. If this young team can come up with goods in NZ, that will be launching pad for future.

India should go with 5 bowlers (Jadeja and Ashwin together on any condition until they find formidable pace bowlers to rely on), Bhuvan & Shammi (at least pick wickets with new ball) plus few new pace bowlers somewhere (Enough of Zaheer, Ishanth....) To be honest, Zaheer can wisely retire.

And India needs a different captain (at least for Test Matches). It would be nice to see how Kohli goes with it. And India can even think of a different wicket keeper batsman for Test (Dhoni is still good as both captain and wk-batsman in ODI/T20) There are some good wicket keeper alternates in the country! Let us give them some chance. We can't keep doing the Dhoni-Bhajan/Mantra....

All the compromises S.A had to make to give India the best chance in this series speak wonders as to the motives of the BCCI and everything they do. Including not using DRS. nobody is fooled.

BCCI are a cancer to cricket. But the indians on this forum dont care as long as they dominate using bully means. Thank God their test side is crap.
 
SA need to take at least 4-5 wickets by end of today.

If it was my board acting this way I would support the opposition. It's against our culture to be happy to win when you haven't earned it. We rather would feel shame

I imagine if S.A insisted not to use DRS and then had 5 decisions go our way because of us bullying someone. The very next game Saffers would be the ones insisting we use it. Because we would feel a deep sense of being cheaters.

Well the test side is new and have shown fight here in South africa,even bowlers had there moments here.

It will be demoralizing for team India if they lose this series with one poor innings with bat! It will be unfair to their efforts in the tour (they already lost ODI series).

Let's hope Vijay, Pujara, Kohli, Rahane fight out another day (Dhawan, Rohit prove their worth in the team)
 
India have shown some character on this test. Wish them the best for the future but SA deserve this win.
 
india should be careful of not being overtly defensive,because that will only get them into a huge hole!
 
saffers gonna win this..couple of good for nothing players in indian team. no matter what they will be in team for ever.
 
I give it to SA, They did played like a No 1 team.
This young Indian team will loose this match, no surprise there.
But they had good times on this tour no doubt.
Up coming tough away tours will build a new team.
Let us hope they will try to play as long as possible.
 
Just woke up. Great going SA. SA is going to win this test match. Steyn/Vern/Morkel/Kallis in full flow on 5 day pitch with cloud with full motivation to give a winning send off to Kallis and then other side it's a newbie team. They may crumble under pressure.

I give 80% chance of SA to win this test.

Game is far from lost. The pitch and conditions don't look difficult judging my Steyn's first over.

If india manage to save this test. Will you appreciate them or call this pitch flat? I know you didn't call this pitch flat. But just asking this generally.
 
Vern has a good chance to get Dhwan here.
 
True test of indian youngsters has begun. Three good fast bowlers in overcast conditions and with a healthy lead.

If Indians can save this test, hats off to them to handle the pressure. Pitch is not a minefield but I am giving a very high chance of SA win due to quality of attack, cloud and 5th day pitch. Newbie batting line up may not be able to handle the pressure to save this test. Just need to get Kohli and Pujara.
 
if indian batting come good this test then india will be a good test team in future. it will do wonders to confidence of indian team.
 
If India manage to draw this test, my hatred for them will increase 10 fold.
 
Dhawan won't last long. Just keep feeding him outside the off stump and he will nick one.
 
i would be surprised if we get even 20 more overs today . can they pick up a couple of wickets ? forecast for day 5 is decent .

Lol both of the teams were like fish for going for the win towards the end. Credit to india, they performed above expectations, it would have been nice to see them against the sought of movement pak had to face when we tourned SA but i doubt that will take shine of their performance
 
One down and 9 to go. Dhawan will go soon. Just need to get Puraja/Kohli and match is done and dusted. I don't see this newbie team handling the pressure to save this test match against Vern/Steyn/Morkel/Kallis.
