South Africa v Pakistan | 2nd ODI | Johannesburg | 4th April 2021 | South Africa innings

It was straight catch for Shadab, Bad decision by Rizwan, I hope he doesn't score ton like Dussen did.

Hasnain is being made into a swing bowler it seems. He should just bowl his natural length at pace.

Shaun Pollock saying he would teach Babar's technique to any youngster? Unless you have the God-given hand eye coordination of Babar, I would personally not recommend not moving your feet and wafting your bat outside off stump constantly.

Bobby has many plus......1....still ...2.. the way bat comes down...straight and vertical.....3... Plays under his eyes...4...plays late.....many virtues to learn...

Pakistan may not get away with it today unless they play really well.

I think 300 on the cards, If SA score more than 300 than it will be gr8 test for pak batting line up, Looks a good wicket, You can play on the up & through the line, Just see out 1st few overs of new ball swing.

We know which Pakistan has turned up today, the one not to be afraid of.

Rarely do we repeat a good performance especially away from home. Looks like we're headed for a decider.

Haven't taken enough wickets upfront which is worrying because our change bowlers suck.

Markham doesn't seem to have an issue with starting. He just can't kick on after that.

The series will be sealed right here. South African cricket is done and dusted. From being a top ranked team to currently ranked 7th, the fall has been insane, especially the humiliating test series losses to Sri Lanka at home and World Cup losses to Bangladesh and West Indies.

Quinton de kock and Kagiso Rabada don't seem interested enough and are probably waiting for their stints with the Mumbai Indians and Delhi Capitals this year.

Markram and Van der dussen are the only ones SA have any hopes from.

Babar > SA's whole batting lineup.

When did SA lose a test series at home vs SL?

For all of Markram's smash bang, he made only 39 off the 34 balls he faced, that too including a life.

I suspect Fakhar will have to do a similar thing, with slightly better SR.

Tembu Bavuma reminds me of Shiv Sunder Das....similar stance, batting style and probably same level of talent too. And to think of it, he is the captain of SA team, a side that was previously led by likes of Cronje, Pollock, Smith, Faf etc. Sigh

SAF should target middle overs with the inconsistency of Rauf, Shadab and Danish being a vulnerability for PAK.

300+ surface this. Lets see if we can chase down something big later.

Quinton De Kock is a world class player. Just going through a tough patch. He has the same demeanour so don't get why people saying he isn't interested when always has this demeanour.

But don't get it twisted, he is a world class player

Remeber SA have a much better bolwing line up. Pak won't be able to chase a score in excess of 260 on this wicket

There is quite a lot of bounce on this wicket. Nortje will be a handful

Pakistan winning 2 tosses overseas and both the time opting to chase. Good aggression and confidence shown by Babar Azam. Not sure other previous captains would have taken such risk.

So MoYo is credited for improving Faheem's batting. Who do we credit for improving his bowling?

Pak will not be able to handle saffers fast bowlers on here...the cracks are strange it hits a corner and it leaps up

What an awful batting this from South Africa.

Their most skillful player, de kock needs to get his act right if SA have to atleast win matches and series at home.

Hmm chasing is more defensive if anything. Real confidence is batting first knowing you'll put up a total you can defend.

Bavuma is at one down only because he's the captain... Reminds me of my childhood days where some kids bat at the top just because they're the captain or they own the bat :yk

Bavuma can be a good LO player. The problem is he keeping out at least 1 of Kyle Verreynne,JP Malan, and Zubayr Hamza. All these 3 players have much more potential than Bavuma.

Junaids is right. Fahim is invaluable to the team. His growth is so visible. Not convinced on Shadab though, because his bowling is just not kicking on.

Bavuma... :91:

Bavuma is a liability.

Good that not only I feel the same way. No way Bavuma should be even in SA team as a player let alone captaining them. I do understand its African side and certain skin colour is given preference but this is being taken to a different level...lol.

I recall Mickey saying that having Shadab and Faheem in the team is better than having a bowler and batter respectively. They bring more to the team and they did in the beginning, in both tests and limited cricket.

Shadab has not played a lot of cricket lately due to his fitness issues. The more he play the better he will get. He was bowling well uptil and including 2019 world cup. Both these players are vital clogs in the team as they will provide something in bowling or batting. Shadab fielding also save s plenty of runs.

I hope SA batsmen just smash Shadab all around. Why Qadir isn't being given chance?
