South Africa v Pakistan | 2nd ODI | Johannesburg | 4th April 2021 | South Africa innings

Shaheen taking his frustration out on the stumps. Just had a bad day

Pleasantly surprised by Rauf’s control today a d Pak’s overall ground fielding especially Asif Ali.

Hasnain has got much better consistency with the opening middle overs length maybe can be a bit fuller with new ball on occasions but, he definitely needs some work with his death bowling.

Shadab have made a case to be benched in the next match and Qadir to be given a go but, that would require either Hassan to be in the XI or Wasim Jnr to be given a debut to get that batting depth.

Shaheen is absolute garbage with the old ball. Waqar Younis has done absolutely nothing with him.
He is good, but he is incredibly over-rated here. No other bowler is as hyped to the moon as Shaheen, and he fails to deliver more often than not when under pressure.

Today is the real test for Babar and Imam as they need to maintain a required run rate of over 6 from ball 1. Babar has never played a match winning knock when chasing over 320. Lets see if this is the day he gets the monkey of his shoulder.

He's decent by Pakistani standards. It's like in the land of the blind, the one eyed man is the king. But he's surely overrated. Wouldn't be a first choice in Australia, England, India, NZ.

Shaheen has been out-performed by every other pace bowler in this bowling line-up today. He is not good enough to be a spearhead of a bowling attack.

Shaheen should have relied upon his yorkers rather than slower balls. Slower balls against good hitters is rarely a good idea unless you have a very deceptive one which Shaheen’s isnt.

Why only them.....it's a test of all the batters

What about other batters... I think pak need fakher to click today to get any close of this total.

Cant afford a slow 1st 10 overs like the 1st game.

Congratulations on restricting South Africa to 325-330.

Seriously whats your issue? Are you actually a Pakistan fan? Always so negative. Yes Pakistan is not a top rated side but my god your so negative all the time.

How many of their frontline pacers outperformed Shaheen in the WC19?

Pakistan winning by chasing a score of 342 is a once in a blue moon happening so not holding any hopes for that - but can Pakistan get close and lose by less then 50 runs?

In other words can they score near 300 and make it into an entertaining run chase or will they just do the “normal” when chasing a big score and collapse to 130 for 6 with a few big blows at the end by Rizwan and tail to take it near 200 ? And lose by about 150 runs margin ..

Time will tell ...

Babar Azam hasn't shown it in him so far in his career that he's good enough to chase these totals down. Won't get a better chance than today to prove that wrong.

Yes true, What every post i have seen of him are all negative no matter what.

Can Pakistan chase this score after struggling to score 270s in last game. Historically Pakistan success has always been setting a score. I don't think you should experiment on a away tour when batting is not their strength

Just make a fight of it pak, chances are slim to none for a win just get close in the last ten and you never know . This was on the cards when you put home team in on a pitch like this.

My first thought during the innings break

He Never won a match when target is 320+

SSA just isn't in the rythem

I never believed in a rythem bowler until I saw him

He'll be garbage for couple of games and than one day out of no where he'll become world class

Than he takes a break from crick or that format.of cricket and when that happens the cycle repeats itself

Boundaries are small.
Pakistan need couple of good partnerships here to win this match

Not only our batsmen but bowlers too struggle on pitches with extra bounce especially the inexperienced ones like this group

I think this innings gives a much better representation of where Pakistan’s bowling stands.

Today South Africa played with much more intelligence and in accordance to the situation. They did not look to be over aggressive early and instead played with a simple plan of quick singles and putting the bad ball away.

This plan was so simple yet so effective against our bowling line up as each of the 5 front liners share the same thing in common- 1 bad ball per over. This what things easier for SA as they realised that even if they ball 2-4 dots per over, they could still get a boundary ball and then a single keeping them at a run rate off 5 po.

This performance is however just the tip of the iceberg. Teams like India, Australia and England will be much more ruthless and we can see totals of 350 plus consistently stacked against us.

All these issues really just stem from the low IQ of most our team
