Cummins is going to be massive if he doesn't get injuries.

MJ has gone to bowling dross as per usual!

very overated bowler!

Lyon looks rubbish.

Go back to Hauritz, at least he was half decent. Improved his batting considerably too.

So much time left today, SA with a very strange approach today.

Another wicket and they could be in trouble, yet both batsmen still going for their shots.

There's rain forecast for this weekend so maybe they're trying to create a result in case there are any interruptions?

Could be JD, or perhaps they've been instructed to pressurise the Aussies bowlers.

50 up for Prince and 100 partnership, well done guys. 350-400 would be a good score on this track.

SA batsmen have pretty much thrown most off their wickets away in this game through sum very rash and stupid shots. Kallis, AB and prince were all well set as well.

Aussies will be glad to be back in this game, South Africa were making the Aussie bowlers struggle!

Now games back to an even balance!

I see even the SA batsmen have been affected by T20s. Kallis and AB looked good, but rather than settle down kept attacking and have let Australia back into the match.

Look forward to seeing Steyn and company tomorrow though, there is no better sight in cricket then seeing Steyn steaming in. Also dying to see if and how the Aussie line-up bounces back.

What a royal screw-up. Wonder if there will be a few overs bowled by SA today, because it could be an interesting 30 minutes.

There is some thing in this series is very fishy could all about bookies, these two teams have a history of playing .
25 runs and six wicket after tea it is stinking the place .

Haroon lohart sort it mate.

:sarfraz...too many these days..

now that they are showing where england bowlers bowled to hughes

i remember in ashes 2011 he could hardly play off his legs/chest

everybody knows he can't play off that high bounced ball off his chest but saffers haven't bowlers one there

wonder

hughes on fire

p.s seem as if PPers don't watch matches unless Pakistan are involved

thats lame

this is a golden match up

watson was injured..wasn't he

wonder what goes in this mysterious world of cricket

there again..dropped by amla

man this hughes has to sort this leg side problem

huge problem

it would be a travesty if rain plays a role in the result

forecast for next two days is not very encouraging

Watson is being giving hints for months now

he doesnt want to bowl .. or at least shift his batting order to lower middle order

after taking 5fer as well when he failed in batting he excused its because of bowling...he mentally couldnt transfer himself from bowling to batting .... so quickly

i also thought that was not out

and in reply to pommie i said "there's alway two noises"

but one of them was actually bat

All Australia. Steyn has bowled poorly so far today, he needs to help his team turn this situation around.

robin jackman is my fav commie. the guy is so much fun to listen to. even the "mischievous" jokes rarely get nasty/offensive/crude. classy guy.

Cover drive on the stroll from Hughes against Steyn, brilliant brilliant shot. He might be inconsistent but he is a destructive player on his day, in the most important position (right at the top). Underrated on PP.

Imran Tahir has no variety and cant keep the ball on one spot either. Very inconsistent with his length and doesn't loop the ball enough imo.

He's an odd player. If he scores a 100 here, it'll be his fourth - all abroad. Also, batsmen who are inconsistent due to aggressiveness are usually better flat-track-batsmen . Jayasuria for example, and Sehwag to a lesser extent (don't kill me anyone, I still feel Sehwag is a great).

Yet with Hughes, I feel he would be equally inconsistent / dangerous on a flat pitch or a green top. He's fighting his own technique out there sometimes, as much as he is the bowlers and conditions.

Another player who was blatantly going to take a few tests to get going, yet received a lot of hype he probably didn't want.

Hughes is unlikely to have a 50 average but he might just help the team win a match one day, from any situation, which is the most important thing in a top order batsman. If a bloke gets twin hundreds in a test in South Africa he has a lot of talent...

Things looking great so far, Oz cant let this position slip,, some solid batting needed, should get upto around 450 runs which will setup the WIN... Lets go OZ...

Limited overs bowler at best.
You need more variety in limited overs actually. In tests if he just bowled good line and length and sets the batsman up for a wrong one after plenty of stock balls, you're containing the runs and getting a wicket. In limited overs you cant be this predictable.

The more I watch leggies the more I believe that Afridi has the most variety of all the spinners I've ever seen:

1. Stock ball that dangerously drifts
2. Googly
3. Flipper
4. Offie with an offie's action
5. his exclusive yorker
6. his exclusive BOUNCER

Imran Tahir in the meanwhile is busy bowling his full tosses.

Two seriously superb innings there, a joy to watch in the background while I continue half-studying. Cor blimey.

Tahir at risk of being warned out of the attack for running on the pitch...

Aussies need to really take advantage here and aim for 450-500!

Aussies have been really postive today, the SA bowlers havent help with some wayward bowling.

Tahir has looked in effective so far...

You called it Whip, if he gets to 40 look out.

He just doesnt get to 40 often enough.

Lol 169 in a session for no wicket, PP called it and now I agree.

We are the new Pakistan. :imran

You can diss Imran Tahir if you like but at least he has the balls to go out and represent a country in Test cricket. No over restrictions no field restrictions every leggie could suffer like Bryce McGain did. Competing on his merits not retiring every time the house looks like it has a good hand.

I accept your point about Afridi but given everything you say about foreign-born players in English shirts, your defence of Tahir on national grounds is a wee bit naughty.

:D

Usman the Aussie number there needs to make a score here, else he will go back into the pack of contenders.

Kallis is hitting 145 km/h at 35 years old. Gets Watson out with that last one.

Ponting likes this ground, will be interesting to see if he regains his form on it.

Hmmm. The speed gun says 145.4 kph on that last bouncer from Kallis that got the wicket. The old man still has some venom left in him, eh?:akhtar
