What's new

South Africa vs India | 1st Test | Cape Town | Jan 5-9, 2018 | Day 1 | Discussion Thread

Had goosebumps when Steyn took the catch. What a privilege to be watching the greatest bowler of all time in action again. Certainly didn't think it would happen after his injury in Australia.

What was that Dhawan? This is not T20 cricket

Keep donating wickets you idiots.

I understand when you lose wicket to good balls. These two are remotely wicket taking balls. They probably thought they are playing suranga lakmal in kolkatta. Bad bad shot. Absolutely horrendous. Irresponsible T20 batting.

Both shots could have been avoided and India should have been 18/0.

With only 5 batsman, losing 2 for lose shots is a crime.

To all indian Fans Our next batsman to come is the greatest ftb of all time, some really fantastic selections here. Great Selections :dada

SA also lost 3 quick wickets - Kohli has to play now!

One more wicket and its Saffers game to lose

What is unexpected in this?

We gave away too many runs.

No wicket taking support for Bhuvi. 4 pacers couldn't blow out their tail. Loose balls.

If not for Ash's efforts in snaring 3 wickets (run out included), SA would have scored 350+.

Batting wise, picking Dhawan and Rohit over Rahul and Rahane.....lol

Dhawan on top of that drops Maharaj at 0 who goes on to score useful runs.

Both shots played by Vijay and Dhawan are inexcusable.

Vijay chasing a wide delivery like a tailender and Dhawan still in T20 mode trying to play pull shots against new ball.

All the openers had to do was to play the first 15 overs cautiously and then cash in on the old ball. Dhawan is too dumb to realize that.

Ok you have posted that five times... we get it

LOL @ all the people that keep saying Steyn is done. He looks damn hungry and up for this to me.

Pace is not automatically good bowling... otherwise guys like Riaz and Sami would be the best bowlers in history

I didn't say that. But from someone like him, you expect pace and I'm glad to say it.

And to get my point across, I'd rather have Riaz or Sami over someone like Abbas.

Every South African bowler is better than the last. Morkel is in some killer form and get's Kohli along the 5th stump line, like always.

Kohli is replaced by Sharma :))) :))) :)))

Lets see what FTB does

HAHAHAHAHAH!!!!

Worlds best batsman, aggressive captain......etc...etc....my foot!

Kohli is useless on a green track, just like rest of the Indian batsmen.

That height did it to him. soso_killer, Morkel got the big fish.

India into tail now.

Sharma walking out instead of someone like Rahane is hilarious. Even Karun Nair would have been better. He simply doesn't have the eyes to play Rabada and Morkel.

Morkel to Kohli, OUT, he gets Kohli first ball! He pokes away from the body and gets a nice healthy nick on this! Oh the crowd's gone wild, and it's absolute dire straits for India at the moment. :)) :)) :))

This is not even like the green track which Nz, Aus and Pak had to play on last time they visited SA. This is relatively and okay pitch.

First two deliveries that Sharma has faced is enough to show the opposition he is not confident at all at the moment. Rahane not being selected is perpexling.

Oh boy, the mighty Indian falls pretty quickly, pace and bounce and bit of juice in the wicket...

This year will tell us where exactly India stands...

It would be lovely if India is bowled out under 100

LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL the hisab ad immediately after the over. This is hilarity on another level.

I knew this would happen, I predicted it earlier.............. Indians need to get to 180-190 Runs, somehow..

Kohli could have left the ball too. He needs to fix that feeling the ball on the bat thing ASAP or India will be lose this series badly.

Holding with a classic joke there, compares Morkel's wicket of Kohli and Masakadza and calls it "only a tad bit more important". Legendary stuff. :)))

This is sensational test match cricket. We are witness' here to arguably one of the best bowling attacks to ever step on to the cricket field.

That was a big surprise for me, they selected Sharma and Dhawan for those phatta ODI runs, it was not deep thinking on their part ;-)

Irony died a thousand deaths. India 20-3 and an advertisement comes on tv "ab lenge south africa se 25 saal ka hisaab" :))

Its a tough pitch dude. Indian pacers didn't use it properly.

Yes, we have away wickets but it ain't some easy pitch to keep batting.

And to think all the SA commies were waiting for 2moz morning as that would be when the ball will move most.

Carnage awaits.

Morkel is getting steep bounce from good length. The advantage of having a super tall bowler who can make the ball do that.

Aek aur mil jai stumps se pehlay dil khush hojaiga

LOL @ all the people that keep saying Steyn is done. He looks damn hungry and up for this to me.

They say it because it is a general consensus- it is something which happens to everyone yet Steyn proves them wrong everytime.

Joke players.

Fools who compare these FTBs (all sides, not just India) to guys who played on uncovered tracks are fools.

Good by tailender Pujara to take single of last ball to shield nightwatchman Sharma

Did you watch the NZ series last year? The amount of movement Steyn and Vern were extracting was crazy. Nothing like today.
