It happens, Did not Pakistan get friendly pitches in Lords and Oval 2016 tour of England. And Proteas are not out of the match. They posted about par score. Even if India scores 400 here, it will be them batting last. And chasing small total 170+ can be tricky.

Yes but you need a goat spinner like ashwin,lyon or yasir shah. Is maharaj good enough. Looks ordinary tbh now
 
Kohli and Vijay looking like champs. SA do not want to give India a lead or come near their target. Ashwin on this pitch on Day 4 will be threatning especially around the wicket and to elgar and dekock who are walking wickets against him
 
Africa did big mistake by giving this kind of pitch to india. Kohli and Vijay won't let this change go to score big now.
 
Worried about our batting line-up. After these two we have only Rohit, Pandya, Parthiv, Ashwin and the rest of the tail.

These two should ideally look to go big.

If these two go really big, then next up should be Pandya and not No-hit Sharma. Even a run a ball fifty from Pandya would be enough to deflate the saffers then.

On this pitch, let Rohit come. He can do some serious damage.

This pitch has no lateral movement for the fast bowlers. Kohli should look to score a big big 100 here .

India just not grabbing the crucial moments in this series. Vijay's wicket could be the difference between a win and loss. If these two had stayed till the end of day's play it would have severly dented SA's confidence.

Seems like he was doing it many a times in the previous over and all his luck ran out.
 
If Rohit does not score on this pitch then it should mark the end of his test career.
But you never know with kohli :facepalm:

I wanted Rohit to succeed here. He was applying well.

But inability is inability.

When you get a ball to come in, Rohit can't survive.
 
Well This dismissal of Rohit could be and will be the turning point of this match and perhaps Series as well.
Rohit Sharma's Test career is over.

1 more wicket in the next one hour could be huge boost for Proteas.

Hard work for bowlers.. some surfaces , any part of ball touching or clipping, should be given out, umpires call or not.
 
Maharaj bowling well but the Indians definitely seem more comfortable facing him than any of the other pacers. Faf should try to give Rabada and Philander a spell towards the end of the day. Try to get Kohli before the close.

India will make the biggest blunder if they dont look to stay out there and minimize the gap between the totals. This pitch is going to be a raging turner after a few sessions. SA might collapse at that time in their second innings. India's best chance is to minimize the gap between 1st innings totals. If SA get a lead of of over 100 runs after 1st innings, then it will be extremely difficult for India.

India's only hope was to get a lead of over 100 runs in the first innings. SA won't gift two run outs again. Don't trust India to chase anything over 125 in fourth innings.

On theory yes. But right now, India should have been fully on top.

The amount of tactical decisions by Kohli in this series has hurt India terribly.

This could be the last test match of Rohit's career unless he performs in 4th innings of this test.

If india loses 1 or more wicket - SA day

if india loses no wicket from here- match in balance(even then SA slightly ahead)

Good to see ashwin having some real success for the first time outside SC.Pujara must be disappointed
with his run out.This was ideal pitch for him to score runs.Vijay's dismissal was also disappointing
 
If SA can nick Kohli before close of play, they will be firmly in the driver's seat.

How exactly are we in balance, we have managed to lose 4 wickets before scoring 150 on a 450 wicket, all the hard work bowlers did to nearly stop SA from getting 300 was wasted by kohli and his selections dropping catches. We even dropped the guy who played most balls last game thus leaving us a rather long tail, so please tell me how is this in balance, if Kohli goes now we will give them a 100-120 run lead when we should have been the ones getting that lead so tell me how is this game in balance. SA are 1 wicket away from winning this match and 1 man is particularly to blame for this.
 
I have no damn idea what the hell is rohit sharma doing in test team.. seriously....

Tall and powerfully built, consistently operating around 140kph. Doesn't seem to bring the ball away from the right hander much.

Seen many young fast bowler bowling erratic with no control
