South Africa vs Pakistan | 1st ODI | 19 Jan, 2019 | Port Elizabeth | South Africa innings Thread

Maybe Abbas? Once he is fully fit again?

Abbas's chance is over for WC - this series was his only chance to make an impression. UAE isn't the place to test him (though they might pick him), while ENG series is too close to WC to make such a major decision. I am sure, PAK WC squad will be almost similar to this SAF Series - good, bad, ugly only time'll tell, but I am not impressed at all.

There’s enough cricket there, to try him out I think. It’s Pakistan cricket, there’s always an inury or some other drama around the corner

This is an extraordinary combined spell from Hassan and Shadab

I mean the guy just got a wicket and the next ball you are like 'dheeli karai rai ho' when the ball wasn't even that bad.

So frustrating.

Agreed. But, he is most probably our captian for WC so better support him.

Surprise surprise the bowlers who are actual bowlers are bowling well

This is as good as I have seen shadab bowl. Unlucky not to have 1 more wicket.

Can we kick Imad out and get in a specialist spinner. It’s beyond me how this guy has managed to be a mainstay in our side for 2 years.

Rameez gets unusually cocky telling Pommy not to count out Pak and a boundary is struck on cue.

Pakistani captains for the last 30 years or so. If two bowlers are doing well for 8 over or so, hold them back for end of innings

Imran Khan used to do the same.
Don't see anyone opposing him for doing it

I cant believe you are comparing Imran with Sarafraz

Perhaps you can send a video link or something of him doing that btw?

Good thing about limited overs cricket is that it is limited in overs. So Pakistan don’t have to bowl SA out to win this game. My prediction: Pakistan will win this match IF we score more than SA.

29 wickets in 32 matches @avg 35
He has brilliant stats to justify his selection

The only time hafeez struggles to ‘throw’ is when he is in the deep

SAF are setting this up nicely for Millers and the Klassens to explode at the end.

I don’t think we should hate on Imad so much. It’s more of a selection issue: he shouldn’t be selected as a front line bowler

By every game, I am getting a bit disappointed with Arthur - this "all-rounder" syndrome isn't PAK's strength; apart from Hasan & Shadab there hasn't been any wicket taking threat. SAF will press hard, so in return spells Fahim, Imad can get some wickets, but what PAK need is strike bowlers - this team can't operate in the range of 300-325 per score even if we pick Shadab at No. 10.

Fakhar would have been a better bowler then imad if he concentrated on bowling.

Fakhar has an action which can deceive a batsman. Can be a could part time option going forward

Sarfaraz's bowling changes reminds me of Gully cricket days
Where (almost)everyone used to get to bowl atleast 1 over

Fakhar is a part-timer among part-timers. His bowling career should have been ended after what Pandya did to him in the final.
