Rameez talking about Kaneria not being picked for the ODI series and how it might affect his bowling and performance in the 2nd innings after getting to know he'll be flying back!

Also saying that teams hesitate announcing their squad once in a test match going on!

Begs the question - and YK may take this into consideration before he thinks of declaration etc

is the pitch getting easier to bat on ?

good question!! since we have two spinners, is the wicket still taking turn? does it look slower then the first two days? not watching it live...anyone?

yeah strange that...pakistan is team comprising of three or four players who do nothing and then just enough to keep getting selected...

quiet brilliant from these players if its actually ture (not!)...

Only 1. His poor batting technique and inability to stump against the spinners means we should look elsehwere regardless of what he does in this game. He's had enough chances.

Malik and Misbah are quite different...............I see that they have outscored Younis in this series. Maybe he should look at himself before he points the finger at others....................

I think if they have to declare, probably declare at lunch tomorrow. And a lead of 375+.

242/5.

Lead of 308.

Well then those that keep selecting them need to be criticised

We also have wicket keeping dilema along with opener's problem.....

Looks like Akmal doing his usual trick of just scoring enough runs to save himself from the chop. A few, albeit vital, runs shouldn't mask his poor technique with both sets of gloves.
This is Cricket Pakistan version.....England played james foster in the T20 world cup only bcz of his keeping skills and he delivered that while keeping......only in Pakistan we are always shortsighted.....once a player scores a century he is guaranteed a spot in the playing eleven with scores of 30s 20s for the next year......

Akmal is way behind Sarfaraz in terms of keeping.........since Akmal has arrived at the scene he have not seen a single genuine diving catch from him......we are just shaking the confidence of our bowllers...they don't have the surety that their keeper will catch all the available chances to him......If he is good enough a batsman in the eyes of team management then he may be considered as a pure batsman in the team and we can have a speciallist keeper specially in test matches....as test cricket is not a joke man.....remember we are the only country in the cricketing world which is more or less playing the same T20 team in the test matches baring 1 or 2 changes (that also bcz of Afridi making himself unavailable for test matches)...................

its high time our selectors understand this...this is a blunder considering our Cheif selector is a keeper himself.

It's only the third day condiitions are still good for batting if our middle order can get runs it must be! 4-5 sessions will be enough to bowl the lankans.

Why we should declare at all?

4444444444444444 :malik:

Exactly - we shudnt be thinking about declaration yet, keep on batting for aslong as we can (tho certainly shudnt go beyond lunch tomorrow)

Kamran is a better package than Moin Khan and Rashid Latif imo. Latif was a better keeper, Akmal a better batsman.

Moin was a worse keeper and batsman than Akmal.

what a shot from akmal !!!! 66666666666 !!!!
nice retirement gift for vaas

sooper dooper shot by Malik. The closer he gets to a hundred the more annoyed his making me.

well i for one dont think that yk, misbah, or akmal should be dropped...i do not prescribe to this grouping rubbish...

if they dont perform consistently then sure they should be dropped..
akmal has played three test matches in the past 18 months but going by his recent form in odi's he's been good..so again i dont see why he should be dropped...likewise for misbah and malik...

now coming to your statement, once again i dont see any logic behind your consistent crticism of yk..

yk has had a bad series with the bat, anyone can see that, but he is the captain who just captained the side to a world cup 20/20 victory..he is a captain who scored a tripple century just three test matches ago and this is his first proper series as a captain...he is a batsman who averages over 50 in tests which alone should tell you that he will score far more consistently then either malik or misbah who both have a far worse average then yk...

so once again your logic seems completely flawed...

Ya 'if they have to declare' :)

that last six from Kamran Akmal reminded me of his two sixes in an odi against west indies when pakistan needed about 16 runs in an over to win, and Kamran Akaml helped Pakistan to get those.....

Looks like Malik, Misbah and Akmal will be around for a little while longer.

50(Akmal) or 100(Malik).... which should come first.....and which one will....your thoughts......i guess it will be 50 from Akmal which will come first

I can't beleive this is the same Kami and Malik that played in the first 2 test....now every one is praising the batting of Malik and Kami.....guys....we should be looking to the long term solutions....not just 1 test match victory.....if something is going wrong in the team (grouping???) than this must be sorted out even if Malik scores a Double century this match........think bigger guys.....

Nobody talking about the point Rameez raised a few mins ago about Kaneria! I wrote it here!

Kaneria has not been in the one day squad for a while dont see why it should effect his performance here.

what would you expect amjid? you've played a bit of cricket, shown good knowledge of the game..so you'd know that you cant just drop three experienced players and replace them with rookies or players who have been mediocre in the past...sure replace one player and then after sometime look to replace another...but what would it do for the team to have all three players replaced at the same time???

I don't doubt YK's ability as a batsman. He has scored consistently in the past and will do so again. There is a question mark as to whether his batting is affected adversely by the captaincy but only time will tell. However my gripe is that he publicly blames players (even when pretending that he doesn't) and shifts the blame for the team's poor performance. Just need him to stand up and take responsibility especially when its clear that he hasn't exactly been a shining example on this tour. In fact he has scored the fewest runs of the current top 6.

oooooh, Malik dances down the pitch, Herath fires it in towards his pads, Malik misses the ball and is stranded a yard and a half beyond the crease but Sangakkara misses the ball and the stumping chance. Malik survives and they run some byes to rub salt into the wound

If Malik ends up getting a hundred should we applaud him or get the chapels out :13:

Does Sanga have Akmal as his Keeping "buddy?"

Kaneria knows he's not part of the ODI setup.

He's also been in the same situation before - where the ODI squad is announced in the last day or two of a test match and he's not in it.

Rameez is talking crap imo.

Looks like he's joined Malik's faction which seems to be growing by the day

Yeah Kaneria has been in that sort of position on a number of occasions before so its nothing new for him! All he needs to do is to concentrate and try and do even better than his efforts in the 1st innings - InshahAllah

Now Waqar promoting Rameez point of announcing the squad during a test match.

in this series we gave the chance to the rookies....(Alam, Aamir, Ajmal, Rauf)

All have proved that if a chance is granted to a deserving player then he is very much eager to grab it...
In the bowlling deptt.. we have given chances to 3 new bowllers (infact excl. gul all the bowlling attack was rookie) despite this they all performed well.....why can't we drop 3 senior batsman straightaway......?????
