Most in current Pakistan team are either new or not established. Only Shaheen, Imam, Babar, Rizwan, and Sarfaraz are the candidates.

I think Imam should be the captain.
 
Pakistan needs a 33 in 100 balls from Sarfarz not a 40 in 33 Balls. Scoring quick runs but only facing 40-50 balls wouldnt help Pakistan much here. Someone needs to play a big knock in terms of balls faced..

Imam should be the captain of test team. He is a fighter unlike coward Babar
 
Sarfraz batting in this innings is much better, impactful, and positive than all Pakistani batters combined.

Going for extra shots is not a good sign imo, think a wicket is around the corner. By trying to score 15 runs of an over, you may succeed for an over or two but it will eventually lead to your wicket.

Pakistan trailing by 44 runs , the sooner they are in lead , the better for Pakistan.
 
These two have got to dig in now. Fight the sort of rearguard action that England were good at ten years ago where Collingwood and the tail would refuse to lose.

I hope Pakistan can hang on.

NZ would go for it even if they need 130-140 runs in the last session. Nothing to lose as Pakistan can't take 10 wickets in one session. Pakistan needs to score 180 more runs.

I don't consider him a top-class batter yet, but he is our best.
 
How in the world is a bowler like Ish Sodhi looking world class ?

Pakistan batting is just horrible, this has to be the worst Pakistan bats of all time imo...

Scoring soft runs on flat phattas, the minute there is a little pressure shows tendency to collapse...

Pakistan currently has to be the worst test playing nation in the world.. Need to get their act together..

Babar should hire Sarfaraz to learn sweep/reverse sweep if he has to become a best test batter for Pakistan.

Let's not kid ourselves. Pakistani bowling especially the spinners have also been very poor. The NZ bowlers have shown that if you have quality, there is enough in the pitch to exploit and create pressure on the batsmen.

Abrar is a finger spinner, Nauman has been under performing for a while. We desperately need to find a young proper leggie who can exploit Day 4 and Day 5 conditions

Not just Babar but the entire batting line up. Other than Sarfaraz, I haven't seen any of the Pakistani batsmen employ the sweep shot barring Saud.

In the first innings asw he came in at 110-4. If he hadn't scored that "irrelevant" 160 we would have conceded a 300+ run lead

These are ridiculous standards lol. People need to tone down their ridiculous expectations of Bobby as a batter. He averages nearly 50 with the bat. Test matches are won when you have a competent team. You cannot win when you have the likes of Shan Masood consistently failing and a bowling attack that is probably slightly below Bangladesh's best.

Bobby has become a soft target for too many things imo.

First class performers should be rewarded , get better pitches , even if you lose at least you learn something , also stop the obsession with sloggers in lower levels , no need of juniors playing 20 overs formats , make them play 2 day or 4 day cricket instead.

Babar was going to be captain irrespective of whomever was at the top as there was no other candidate, he has turned out turned be rubbish at it is another matter.New management had opportunity to change him but they wanted to lose another series before making the change.
 
Hopefully Sarfraz keeping will improve next match, after losing the rustiness of sitting on sidelines. His fighting quality wer missing in Pakistan side.
 
28 runs is what Pakistan trail right now. Ideally Pakistan would want 4 - 5 wickets left when they go in the final session.

Pak was 19-2 and your 4 top batters are back into hut in the first session on day 1 of the test. Babar scored 161 to save team from humiliation. That was surely an under pressure knock.
 
stalemate again. At this rate match will end in a draw without anymore wickets. Negative bowling to stifle Sarfraz

Always the case he scores big in one inning but not good enough for high standard fans, whi want him to score in every inning as if he is a robot. The argument of not scoring when it mattered us rubbish as whenever batsman scores runs it is important, and with Pakistan 4 down for not many runs,they could had been bowled out for 200,and already lost the match by inning now.

Dirt mark on Sarfraz's shirt is a proof of how much he had to fight out in this inning.
 
I think these two want to goto Lunch with deficit removed to ease the pressure when they return.
