Swann's ego taking a battering here. Our batsmen against him

he had helpful wickets and scoreboard pressure, a spinner who isn't Warne always struggles without at least one of these, and Swann has neither

The way thing are going these 2 could bat till tea tomorrow and declare leaving England 4 sessions to save the test :don

I think they will declare tomorrow at lunch.

Leave themselves 5 sessions. 4 would not be enough.

one thing is clear, we could be seeing some draws in this series, more than I thought was possible

was it ian chappell who said after the first day that 260 could be good enough?

if England had 230/6 and Huss out, the game was completely different, but they were out of luck with the new ball and are now frankly looking dire

He could've kept things tight...instead he's being smacked to all corners of the ground. Hussey and Haddin are showing that if you pick the ball up early in its flight, there's not much to fear from him.

England Win is now all but out of the game

They will be fighting to draw from here on in

I think that's all really easy to say right now, remember he has had remarkable success in all 3 formats against many good players. Just looks like a bad day for him, I don't think this is an expose

Current partnership 243 runs, 74.4 overs, RR: 3.25 (Hussey 116, Haddin 112)

Are you going to blame Aleem Dar?

Just making sure. Cause you and RA agreed not to complain about umpiring as its part of the game. :D

Atherton was praising Haddin stance & basic batting approach.....where was all that Haddin approach against :asif & :amir

England 260

Australia 386/5 (127.4 ov)

Australia lead by 126 runs with 5 wickets remaining in the 1st innings

not at all, I've made it clear in the Dar thread that I blame us blowing our referrals on average shouts yesterday. but it cannot be denied that in several ways, England were unlucky in the morning

is that a 'boring' chant? hahaha.

England were very unlucky. No doubt about that.

I thought they were chanting "Colly", but it could be "boring".

Negative tactics from England - no choice anymore really

2nd highest score for Hussey.

Surprised he's never got a double ton in his career, yet.

Not even during his impressive run back a few years ago.

Just checked the latest score . I knew Australia would be too good for England :D I expect no less than 500 from Australia in 1st innings :P

Pretty flat bowling by England all round this session.

I'd like to agree with Botham on the whole bowl aggressively thing, but our bowlers bar Anderson have been bobbins today.

When should aust declare to win? Hope they dnt do wut saffers did vs pak in abu dhabi

Batting at no.6 won't allow you to get a big score. You invariably end up batting with the tail. He has a chance of getting one this innings with Haddin looking good.

Anderson has had 1 outstanding outstanding spell with the new ball and he was rubbish in both spells with the old ball

Keep expecting this from him in Australia where ball doesn't swing all day

Current partnership 245
England 1st innings 260

:)))

the funny thing is this is still not an unassailable position. it's just the atmosphere of the game that has killed England.

All of a sudden this is looking like a very typical Australia Ashes series

Shane Warne's commentary. :)))

You can tell throughout this test how annoyed he is at England being considered favourites by many. He's loving each and every one of their fails.

lol, Anderson.

England don't deserve to win this test anymore (even though I'm supporting them). Defensive tatics, not any real good bowling anymore, no pressure building and finally dropped catches.

England aren't trying to force wickets at all.

agreed that we are starting to look like miserable and deserved losers. the only way we can justify not losing is an inspiring batting display.
