don't bring Finn in! Bring in swann. With the hosts under pressure, he'll relish the chance to bowl.

This is actually a decent first day wicket. Nice movement for the quicks but if you play your shots you can score runs. Ponting will be kicking himself for nibbling at the Anderson delivery and nicking it to the slips. He could've scored a hundred odd on this wicket if he'd stuck around.

When time comes for England to bat, I'm expecting Cook and Trott in particular to make a big score again here. They've got the patience to dig in on this wicket.

encourage the batsman to go for his shots, get lucky one he'll sky and the fielder will catch it. that's how Finn takes his wickets...

clarke and katich have some of the best patience when it comes to batting in cricket. Surprised it's them out and not the more aggressive off the mark ones like watson.
 
Good to see Finn being as ineffective as the Broad :yk Now they just need to focus on Jimmy.

Krapich ran himself out like the idiot he is, and Pup has not batted with any type of confidence the last few months. It shows in his body language and in his shot selection.

Twatto's actually developed into a decent top order bat. Knows when to leave balls now and when to play his shots.

Finn bowling pies aplenty here, needs to bowl a wicket taking ball.

I have a feeling that Anderson's going to end up being another lone ranger here.
 
The funny thing is Finn could have easily been hit for 3-4 more drive fours which were crunched but went straight to the fielders

Hussey was very aggressive against Swann last time. Big booming drive first up here.
 
Watson pretty average player of spin. However, he tends to struggle with the ones who move it both ways. Swann doesn't.
 
they need to belt Swann out of the attack.
 
To be honest its a very flat pitch and Australia just needed to survive the first 30 minutes without much damage

They couldn't survive 10
 
England seems to have over attacked here..... Bowling full is a risky strategy....
