Antoine Semenyo and Evanlison scored as Bournemouth sealed their first-ever win against Manchester City at Vitality Stadium

The Cherries, in good form after picking up four points from their last two games against Aston Villa and Arsenal, started quickly and full of positivity.

Ederson was forced into a double save after just two minutes as he denied Semenyo and Justin Kluivert.

With the tone set, Bournemouth continued to press high and they were rewarded in the ninth minute when Milos Kerkez's cut-back from the byeline was turned in by Semenyo.

City failed to muster an attempt on target during a largely frustrating first half.

Bournemouth came out for the second period full of confidence and were close to doubling their lead in the first minute, but Ederson was sharply off his line to keep Evanlison's effort out.

Evanlison made sure with his next opportunity, though, sliding to meet Kerkez's low ball and nestling it into the bottom corner.

The hosts should have made it three moments later but Adam Smith, presented with an open goal, blazed over the bar after Marcus Tavernier's shot came back off the post.

City finally registered an attempt on target in the 80th minute, albeit a tame one, with Erling Haaland struggling to get any power on his volley.

And two minutes later, Josko Gvardiol headed beyond a despairing Mark Travers to offer hope but the Premier League champions were unable to grab an equaliser.

The defeat means City slip to second after Liverpool came-from-behind to beat Brighton, while Bournemouth climb up to eighth.

Liverpool came from behind to beat Brighton at a rocking Anfield and go top of the Premier League on the day their two title rivals both suffered defeat

Brighton had looked set to move up to third in the table when Ferdi Kadioglu’s fine strike from 16 yards flew in via the inside of the post in a first half they dominated.

But Cody Gakpo’s left-wing cross went straight into the net for Liverpool’s equaliser, his third goal against Albion in four days after his Carabao Cup double.

And Mohamed Salah curled a beauty into the far corner from the right side of the box to completely turn the game around three minutes later.

It was an especially impressive comeback because Brighton had been playing so well – and keeping the home crowd quiet at times.

They could have led by more but Liverpool keeper Caoimhin Kelleher saved Georginio Rutter's effort - before the second-half comeback.

Liverpool, who have won 13 of their 15 games under new manager Arne Slot, are two points above Manchester City after their shock defeat by Bournemouth.

Chris Wood continued his superb start to the season as Nottingham Forest beat West Ham in the Premier League on Saturday

Forest came into the match as one of the league's in-form sides, having won 16 points from their opening nine games while taking points off both Liverpool and Chelsea.

Wood's form has been a key factor in the strong start, and it was the striker's close-range header that gave the home side the lead at the City Ground.

West Ham boss Julen Lopetegui fielded three centre-backs in an effort to keep the New Zealand international quiet, but Wood was left completely unmarked to convert Alex Moreno's cross from six yards out and take his season tally to eight.

The visitors struggled for much of the first half, and their task was made all the more difficult when Edson Alvarez was shown a second yellow card for scything down Anthony Elanga on the stroke of half-time.

West Ham improved after the break but Callum Hudson-Odoi doubled Forest's lead when his cross sneaked past Lukasz Fabianski at the back post.

Nuno Espirito Santo's side looked happy to see out the result before Ola Aina rifled a shot into the top corner from the edge of the penalty arc to send the City Ground into raptures.

Forest have now won three Premier League games in a row for the first time since May 1999.

The victory lifts Forest up to third in the table, one point above title contenders Arsenal and six behind leaders Liverpool.

Already under pressure, Lopetegui's side drop one place to 14th with just 11 points after 10 games.

Adam Armstrong hit a late winner as Southampton claimed their first Premier League victory of the season by beating Everton at St Mary's

Just 25 seconds after Beto hit the crossbar at the opposite end of the pitch, Armstrong fired in from Yukinari Sugawara's pass with five minutes remaining in a dramatic conclusion.

Substitute Beto, who scored a stoppage-time equaliser against Fulham last weekend, thought he had once again rescued his side in the 89th minute - but after a lengthy video assistant referee (VAR) check the goal was disallowed for offside to huge cheers from the home supporters.

Aaron Ramsdale had produced two excellent second-half saves to keep Russell Martin's side level, first pushing Orel Mangala's powerful drive over with a strong hand before preventing Michael Keane's diving back-post header from sneaking into the bottom corner.

Southampton failed to register an attempt in the opening 40 minutes, despite dominating possession, but the hosts had two great opportunities to break the deadlock at the end of a largely uneventful first half.

First Cameron Archer went close to finding the bottom corner following a slick passing move, before Taylor Harwood-Bellis headed marginally wide from a corner.

The home side carried much more of a threat in the second half in pursuit of a desperately needed first victory and eventually got their reward when Armstrong beat Jordan Pickford to lift Saints off the bottom of the table.

Everton boss Sean Dyche was aggrieved that Jan Bednarek was shown only a yellow card after bringing down Beto as the Everton striker raced towards goal, but his side remain 16th.

Jordan Ayew scored deep into stoppage time as Leicester City denied Ipswich Town a first Premier League win of the season

Ayew played a one-two with Jamie Vardy and shot past Arijanet Muric to rescue a point for the visitors.

Leif Davis' superb first-time volley had looked like giving Ipswich all three points.

But the home side, who had Kalvin Phillips sent off for a second bookable offence after a late challenge on Ricardo Pereira with 12 minutes remaining, failed to see out the win and Ipswich remain in the bottom three.

They have now dropped 12 points from winning positions, the most of any team in the league.

The Tractor Boys have registered five draws and five losses in their opening 10 games, the club’s longest winless run at the start of a top-flight campaign.

Wolves remain without a win in the Premier League as they were held to an entertaining draw by fellow strugglers Crystal Palace at Molineux.

Gary O'Neil's side came from behind to go ahead but could not hold on and have now failed to win any of their opening 10 games.

After a stale first half of limited chances, the game livened up when Trevoh Chalobah opened the scoring for the visitors, his low strike in the 67th minute following some poor defensive work from Wolves.

But Jorgen Strand Larsen cancelled that out when he slotted through Dean Henderson's legs.

Joao Gomes then finished well from Goncalo Gomes' low cross to give his side the lead before an unmarked Marc Guehi tapped home at the back post from a corner to draw Palace level.

Jean-Philippe Mateta thought he had given his team a dramatic victory in the 96th minute when he placed a loose ball in the back of the net but was denied the moment of glory because of a foul on Wolves goalkeeper Jose Sa in the build up.

Wolves and Ipswich remain the only two sides in the league yet to register a win this campaign while Palace sit 17th, two points clear of the drop zone.

Dominic Solanke scored twice as Tottenham came from behind to earn victory over Aston Villa in the Premier League

The £65m summer signing doubled his league goal tally for the season with two goals in four second-half minutes as Ange Postecoglou's side climbed to seventh in the table.

Solanke put Spurs ahead with a delightful first by lifting the ball over the onrushing Emiliano Martinez from Dejan Kulusevski's pass, before Richarlison picked out his team-mate to slot in and put a late fightback beyond Villa.

Morgan Rogers had given Villa the lead with the game's first shot on target after 32 minutes, profiting after Spurs failed to deal with Lucas Digne's in-swinging corner.

The visitors, denied an opener less than two minutes earlier when Amadou Onana's header hit the post, were impressively organised and successfully absorbed large spells of pressure in the first half.

But that good work was undone within four minutes of the restart when Brennan Johnson met Son Heung-min's excellent cross from the left, transforming the atmosphere at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium and laying the foundations for his side's latest comeback.

Substitute James Maddison then added a fourth with a wonderful free-kick deep in stoppage-time as Spurs repeated their 4-1 win from a goal behind against West Ham in their previous home league game.

Victory ensured Tottenham reduced the gap to the top four following last week's loss at Crystal Palace, with fourth-placed Arsenal two points ahead, as fifth-placed Villa missed the chance to go third.

Moises Caicedo’s crisp volley gave Chelsea a deserved point against Manchester United at Old Trafford.

United’s interim manager Ruud van Nistelrooy, in charge while the Red Devils await the arrival of newly-appointed Ruben Amorim, looked on course for a second successive victory when Bruno Fernandes broke the deadlock from the spot in the 70th minute after Chelsea keeper Robert Sanchez brought down Rasmus Hojlund.

Van Nistelrooy celebrated wildly on the touchline but United’s elation lasted only four minutes until Caicedo expertly struck a superb shot past Andre Onana from the edge of the area.

It resulted in a share of the points in a largely unspectacular encounter, although Wesley Fofana hit the woodwork with a header in the first half, with United striker Marcus Rashford also volleying against the angle of post and bar before the break.

Just 3 points separating Chelsea in 4th and Newcastle in 11th. Very congested top half of table now.

Substitute Harry Wilson stunned Brentford with two injury-time goals as Fulham came from behind to snatch the points at Craven Cottage.

Vitaly Janelt had earlier scored a goal worthy of winning any match, powering his shot in from 25 yards in the first half.

But Wilson came on with eight minutes remaining and acrobatically flicked the ball over goalkeeper Mark Flekken to score his first, before heading in the shock winner on 97 minutes.

Mohammed Kudus: West Ham winger given additional two-game ban after Tottenham red card

West Ham winger Mohammed Kudus has been banned for two additional games after his red card at Tottenham last month.

Kudus' foul on Micky van de Ven in the 82nd minute of a 4-1 defeat sparked a melee between the two sets of players, with the Dutch defender claiming the winger "punched him in the face".

Pape Matar Sarr was also shoved in the face by Kudus.

The player was initially shown a yellow card by referee Andy Madley but this was later upgraded to a red for violent conduct following a VAR check, earning the player an automatic three-match ban.

He was later hit with another violent conduct charge by the Football Association, which has now handed down the additional sanction.

Kudus has already missed games with Manchester United and Nottingham Forest due to the initial ban, which concludes this weekend as his team-mates take on Everton.

According to the written reasons published from the independent regulatory commission, Kudus informed them he was "deeply embarrassed" by the incident and accepted the charge.

It read: "MK [Mohamed Kudus] began his letter by apologising, stating that he was deeply embarrassed by his behaviour in the 20 seconds following his foul on Micky van de Ven.

"He accepted that he had lost his cool and said that his behaviour was out of character.

"He stated that he could not recall the events clearly, but having viewed the footage, he felt that MvdV [Micky van de Ven] had exaggerated the incident as there was minimal contact from him...He accepted that he should not have pushed PS [Pape Sarr] in the face and that his action merited a red card. However, he did not injure anyone, or use force.

"MK [Mohamed Kudus] stated that his preparation for the match had been mentally and physically challenging because he had travelled for a midweek international fixture and had received various negative comments on social media. He referred to his work within the community and in his home country of Ghana, stressing how he tried to be a role model."

Premier League proposes amendments to APT rules

The Premier League has written to its clubs setting out proposed changes to its rules after last month’s publication of a landmark verdict in a legal battle with Manchester City over rules governing commercial deals.

Both sides claimed victory after the decision of an arbitration panel following City’s challenge against the league's associated party transaction (APT) regulations, which seek to ensure sponsorship deals with companies linked to clubs' owners represent fair market value and are not artificially inflated.

City had some complaints upheld, with two aspects of the rules deemed unlawful by the tribunal. It said low-interest shareholder loans should not be excluded from the scope of APT rules, and that changes made in February to toughen up the regulations also breached competition law.

Following the ruling, City claimed the rules were "void", and expressed "concern" over the Premier League's suggestion that new APT rules could be passed swiftly, signalling possible further legal action if there was a "knee-jerk reaction".

But following meetings of its Legal Advisory Group and Financial Controls Advisory Group, the Premier League has now written to all 20 of its clubs proposing a number of amendments before they meet on 22 November.
