Liverpool FC 2025/26 Season

The reason we keep recycling the ball from side to side is because there's zero pace or 1v1 threat out wide, Frimpong aside.

Compare Arsenal's depth in wide areas to ours and its night and day. I expect nothing but a defeat on Thursday.

Not replacing Diaz as we "didn't want to block Ngumoha's pathway" was a dumb thing to leak to the press last summer. A raw 17 year old cannot be relied on for depth.

A CB and a winger (two if Salah leaves this summer) must be prioritised.

We're fortunate Man Utd and Chelsea keep dropping points so hopefully a high points tally won't be required for CL.

No Arsenal fans is celebrating, just reminding all those Liverpool fans who said league was over after 5 games and running their mouths about being unstoppable and scary. 500M spent to fight for 4th place 🤣🤣

True. Arne Slot is no better than Erik Ten Hag. The difference was that Slot was following in after Klopp, while Ten Hag didn't have that luxury. Slot took advantage of a slumping Man City and the team that Klopp left behind to win the league last season. But this season, when he had to build his own team, he has been exposed big time.

Slot deserved to win the league last season.

Whether it was "klopps" squad or not he managed to get the best out of the players, and managed the squad at crucial points during season.

Making to many changes to system and changing to many key positions all at once is his downfall. He should have slowly made implementations to change.

To many Liverpool fans are now mocking Slots title win like its nothing, give guy credit. This season he's deserves criticism.

Could he build his own team? Maybe, but he's gone about it wrong way, and yes he will ultimately pay for that.

using your approach- just because you say it is not does not meant it is not.

A lot of gooners are being smug/celebrating, whether overtly or otherwise. Tbh, after years of hurt, Arsenal deserve it but receipts are great!

Certain part time plastic Liverpool fans getting butt Hurt because other fans are commenting on their team.

Its a discussion forum, if you can't take other teams fans making comments, then you shouldn't be on here.

I'm sure certain (Liverpool fans) posters have already run crying to the mods as usual
 
Slots tactics were exposed in the latter half of last season

It was just Man city and arsenal were off the boil and klopps inherited team and way of playing got us that title.

Now with slot butchering the team with his signings and tactics are there for all to see plus man city , villa and arsenal have been in form that compared to Liverpool its daylight in difference and simply put this guy is not the right man to close that gap against those teams .

There would be sympathy but look at the amount spent and transfer records broken and for liverpool the bare minimum is a comfortable top 4 finish for champions league which slot is struggling to achieve and for a club like Liverpool that is simply not good enough.

Wether his tactics were exposed or not, Liverpool still could have got 90 points last season, they won the league at a canter.

So even if Arsenal and City had been supposedly better, Liverpool still would have likely have got a points tally to win the league.

Slots mistake was to try and impose his own style to quickly this season, maybe that's naivety on his part.

Klopp failed to get the same players over the line before, so I don't get why slot gets so much discredit. Reality I'd Klopp was done and Liverpool needed freshening up

Lol, no crying at all, all it is are (some/probable majority) of gooners gloating and focusing on Liverpool- if that gives you the quick win and helps you in life AJ- sure, why not- done my community service.

Stutter? I can provide some medical input for that, one of my areas of expertise.... and as for the Van twerk stuff... i can recommend some colleagues that might help with that but even they might say, a near 50 yo man posting mockups of another man twerking- is that right?!

They've started early this time with Liverpool having a poor season and City looking beatable (much props to Geordie Ahmed in calling that), Villa not serious enough- even Arsenal should not bottle it from here.... really is too good to be true!

Arsenal could be 9 points clear with 3 games left, and I still wouldn't trust them to win the league from that position. They are serious bottle jobs and have been since the Invincibles in 2004.

There is no need to hide when your team has won 2 Leagues and 1 champions league in recent years. At least win the Carabao cup , so far Ten Haag on his own has won more than Arsenal in the last 15 years. :ROFLMAO:

Reading lots of these revisionist takes recently which are off the mark. Klopp failed to win the league in 23/24 by some distance. People forget how badly we fell off towards the end of that season.

Few fans and pundits in summer 2024 expected Liverpool to challenge for top 4 let alone win the title, especially with a new manager. Now people are saying otherwise.

It was Slot who retooled Gravenberch as a #6. He was arguably the best DM last season in the PL (Klopp largely benched him). Salah was freed of his defensive duties and had a record breaking season in terms of goal contributions when people said he was past-it and should be sold to Saudi. We combined Klopp's intensity with Slot's control, and won the title in April.

Obviously Slot isn't blameless but there's been a perfect storm of factors from:

- Trying to integrate so many new signings
- Not replacing Diaz
- Jota tragedy
- Failing to land Guehi on Deadline Day then Leoni tears his ACL on debut leaving us light at CB
- Senior players losing form (Salah, Konate and MacAllister)
- Our set-piece record falling off a cliff - and not anticipating the general PL style shift back to Allardyce Ball
- More injuries than last season
- Bad luck/some appalling refereeing decisions

Every top club has seasons like this including City last year. Getting Top 4 and recruiting smart should be the priority. We MUST land a CB this month IMO - Guehi, Ordonez or whoever. Then two pacy wingers this summer.
