Liverpool agree compensation for Slot.

I like the guy. Especially when he first came through and was racking up them 180s

There never has been a good Dutch manager in PL

Fair dos, title challenge is over, remind me again how many titles and CL Arsenal have won during Kopp's reign?

Oh dear that old chestnut, typical default questions from Liverpool fans.

Why not tell me about liverpools 19 league titles and 6 CL.

This is why Liverpool fans are seen as sore losers. Always have to go back to "history" rather than accepting you bottler the title.

I'm man enough to admit Arsenal bottled it last year.

Time for Liverpool fans to celebrate Demba Ba day in great fashion

By the time Arteta’s reign is over, Klopp will not be fit to lace his boots. Arteta will walk over Klopp’s Liverpool legacy. This is just the beginning for his Arsenal.

Streets won’t forget how Liverpool bottled a 10 point lead this season and this is the second time it has happened (previously 2018-19) under Klopp.

Bridesmaid.

Good thing Klopp is leaving Liverpool. He has been rag-dolled by Arteta in the league in the last two seasons and it will continue for the next few seasons. Time for Slot to suffer.

The question should be how many titles has Klopp won during his own reign.

Focus on his achievements...

He'll be remembered for matching Blackburn and Leicester.

You guys did alrite. It's still not over. Never say never.

I'm playing bro. Banter aside Klopp is a G

I've also said its over, so what is the answer?

Jurgen is leaving at the right time after seeing him fighting with Salah like that. It seemed Jurgen felt Ham's equalizer could have been avoided had Salah been on the pitch a few seconds earlier. The season without being a disaster has been an average one at best. I also feel Jurgen will return to the Anfield hot seat one day for a second spell. It is no coincidence that his lack of energy he's been on about can be seen in how the have performed over the last few weeks too.

We need to make some changes particularly in defence and by selling Salah. As for Slot where s Dutch managers do struggle in the EPL I am willing to give him a proper chance to exert his playing style. Roll on next season, we walk on with hope in our hearts. This is just a storm, a golden sky with the sweetest sound of the lark awaits us again:klopp.

The Answer is your deflecting attention from klopps underwhelming record whilst at liverpool
I'm not even demanding an apology. Just a simple and straightforward answer which should take the form of a numerical value. Again, how many titles and CL?

Number of trophies Arsenal have or haven't won whilst klopp is in charge is irrelevant.

The number of PL or CL is zero

Liverpool fans alway like to go on and on about their 19 league titles, 6 CLs and being most successful English club. Which is fair enough.

Yet when it comes to klopp, Liverpool fans want to make excuses like "Liverpool are up against Pep etc"

Klopp should have won 3 PL title in his 9 years. Instead he won 1.

In the CL, fair enough their is no shame losing two finals to Real Madrid. So from that point 1 CL is decent return.

Being biggest club in England, Liverpool who want to celebrate their history, stop now celebrating competing.

It's actually embarrassing, in saying that all big clubs in England baring man city behave in this way.

Klopp 9 years is been decent at best.

Liverpool should look to flog Salah to Saudi for 100M+ and you will probably see Diaz leave aswell so they should be looking at 150M to spend on forwards.

The way Liverpool play football based on get ball quickly and playing on counter then Watkins or Toney and Bowen would be best players for them to target

'Salah was the one out of order in Klopp clash'

Mohamed Salah was "out of order" for arguing with Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp on the touchline during Saturday's 2-2 draw at West Ham United, says former Premier League striker Chris Sutton.

Salah had been dropped for the game and clashed with Klopp as he prepared to come on as a 79th-minute substitute.

The draw leaves Liverpool, who are out of the Europa League, five points behind Premier League leaders Manchester City.

Sutton felt the incident did not reflect well on the 31-year-old, who is the Reds' top scorer this season with 24 goals but has not been at his best in recent games.

"I didn’t like it but I think Mo Salah is the one who was out of order," Sutton said on BBC Radio 5 Live's Monday Night Club.

"He is no different to any of his Liverpool team-mates and the truth is his form hasn’t been good since he has come back from the injury.

"It is nothing against Salah and the brilliant player he has been at Liverpool. He has been phenomenal but I think there is a line and unfortunately for him he crossed it."

Klopp, who is leaving Liverpool at the end of the season, brought Salah to Anfield in June 2017 and he has consistently been one of his most influential players.

But Sutton believes Klopp was well within his rights to choose the first XI he felt gave Liverpool the best chance of securing victory.

“You can’t live on the past," added Sutton.

“It is the here and now and Klopp decided to leave him out. That is his prerogative. He is the manager and Salah is no different to the rest of his team-mates.”

Salah seemed frustrated at something Klopp said to him as he was about to be brought on, and seemed to want to prolong the altercation before team-mates Darwin Nunez and Joe Gomez shepherded him away.

Afterwards, Salah declined interview requests, saying: “There’s going to be a fire today if I speak.”

Former Everton midfielder Leon Osman also felt the incident did not reflect well on the Egypt forward.

“If you act like that you are showing disrespect to your team-mates as well as the manager by basically saying ‘I should definitely be playing before them’," Osman said.

“Yes he has been their best player but you are all part of the squad, you all rotate for the most part, you shake hands when you go off the field because you have the same goal to try and win football matches.

“It is a sad end to the run they have had and the relationship they have had.”

Van Dijk wants to be part of Liverpool transition

Captain Virgil van Dijk says he "loves" Liverpool and wants to be part of the club's transition after the departure of manager Jurgen Klopp.

Klopp will leave after nine years at Anfield at the end of the season with a deal agreed for Feyenoord boss Arne Slot to replace him.

Van Dijk's contract runs out at the end of the 2024-25 season, leading to some speculation the Netherlands centre-back could leave the club.

"There will be a big transition and I am part of that," Van Dijk, 32, said.

"I think the club is very much busy with who is going to be the new manager and that is the main focus.

"Like I said I am very happy here, I love the club and you can see that as well.

"It's a big part of my life already, and that is all I can say."

After their 4-2 win over Tottenham on Sunday, Liverpool travel to Aston Villa next week before hosting Wolves in Klopp's final game in charge on 19 May.

The Reds are third in the Premier League table, four points behind Manchester City and five behind Arsenal with two games left to play.

They have won six major trophies during the German's tenure while Slot, who has won the Eredivisie and Dutch Cup at Feyenoord, has never managed outside of the Netherlands.

"There will be a lot of changes happening and, I wouldn't say scary is the right word, but it is quite interesting and exciting what will happen now," Van Dijk said.

All of Klopp's major trophies have come since Van Dijk joined for £75m from Southampton - then a world-record fee for a defender - in January 2018.

"I am really proud I played for him, fought for the badge and him and count the success we had over the years as well," said the defender.

"It will be emotional on the last day but it is a part of life sometimes. Many things are happening behind the scenes but we focus on matchdays and that is our duty, our job and we want to perform for the last six points."

Aston Villa once again proved a difficult opponents for Liverpool as they managed to score a couple of goals at the end of the game 3-3.

I want to talk about this bottle job.

But but but but Opta Super Dumb Computer said Liverpool are favorites. :klopp

@KingKhanWC

Liverpool’s weak mentality has ruined potentially the greatest season in PL history.

This would have been the first time in the last 30 years, a three way fight for the title on the last day, but Liverpool had other ideas.

The players should be shamed of themselves for letting Klopp down like this in his farewell season.

Liverpool assistant Lijnders named RB Salzburg boss

Liverpool assistant manager Pepijn Lijnders has been appointed as Red Bull Salzburg's new head coach.

The 41-year-old, who joined Liverpool in 2014, will go to the Austrian club this summer on a three-year deal.

Lijnders, who is in his second stint at Anfield, had been set to leave the club following Jurgen Klopp's decision to step down.

The Dutchman said he wants to create an attacking style of play at his new club "where passion and hunger for success are the basis of everything".

Having initially worked under Brendan Rodgers, Lijnders remained a key part of Liverpool's backroom staff after Klopp's appointment in October 2015.

He left the Reds for a brief stint as manager of Dutch club NEC Nijmegen but returned to Anfield seven months later to fill his previous role.

Liverpool's development coach Vitor Matos will join Lijnders in the Austrian top-flight team as his assistant manager.

Midfielder Thiago Alcantara and defender Joel Matip will leave Liverpool at the end of the season, the club have confirmed.

Former Spain international Thiago, 33, joined Liverpool from Bayern Munich in 2020 and made 98 appearances during his time at Anfield.

Matip, 32, has played 201 times and scored 11 goals for Liverpool since his arrival from Schalke in 2016.

The pair have experienced limited playing time this season because of injuries.

Centre-back Matip has not featured for the Reds since rupturing his anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) against Fulham in December.

After missing the first six months of the season with a hip issue, former Barcelona player Thiago returned to action in February against Arsenal but experienced a muscle problem during his brief appearance which has since kept him on the sidelines.

“It has been eight wonderful years here in Liverpool,” Matip said.

“I was allowed to be part of an exciting history with a great coach and an astonishing team in an extraordinary club. We have achieved great titles and have the best fans in the world."

Th ex-Cameroon international was a part of the Liverpool side that won the Champions League in 2019, setting up Divock Origi for the second goal as they beat Tottenham in the final.

Matip then lifted the Premier League the following year - the club's first top-flight title in 30 years.

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp said: "In all the years that I have been involved in football, I am not sure I have come across too many players who are more loved than Joel Matip.

"I’m not even sure it would be possible to say anything bad about him."

German Klopp will also leave after their final game of the season, against Wolves at Anfield on Sunday.

How Wataru Endo is inspiring footballers in Japan with vlogs and a self-help book

Wataru Endo's words of wisdom for his followers back in Japan range from in-depth tactical discussions about football to parenting techniques.

Liverpool's No.3 covers just about everything in his life in regular video blogs and articles for subscribers to his own platform.

The father-of-four has also written what's been described as a self-help book called Duel, with its subtitle reading '30 ways of thinking that don't need correct answers'.

Captaining the Japan national team and playing for one of the world's biggest clubs, Endo is using his position of prominence to inspire others and lay down a path to follow.

"He's kind of a life-coach guru," Simon Ta, the YouTuber Liverpool Fan In Japan, tells Liverpoolfc.com.

"A lot of players have done autobiographies and shared a lot of their playing careers via books. But in terms of online persona and really, really sharing that detail and that personal stuff, I don't really recall anyone doing it to the extent that Endo does it.

"Endo has his own following and has done over 100 videos – some are incredibly long, an hour or two hours, and some are incredibly short.

"He really wants to share everything about everything, so that anyone who wants to follow in his footsteps can see the reality of it, not the glitz and the glamour.

"With his vlog he's showing that, 'Don't be afraid of where you've come from, your stature.'"

Endo's journey is one of patience and perseverance. After beginning his professional career at Shonan Bellmare, stints at Urawa Red Diamonds, Belgian side Sint-Truiden VV and with VfB Stuttgart paved the way for him to become a Liverpool player at the age of 30.

He had already started creating his content – under the title Monthly Wataru Endo – before becoming a Red.

The midfielder sought to fill what he felt was a gap in detailed football analysis back in his homeland.

Indeed, Endo will get out his magnetic tactics boards to demonstrate the inner workings of a game he's just played in.

The Pick Up Match feature has become a must-watch for those in Japan keen to enhance their tactical understanding.

"It is just incredible that a footballer goes this deep into all the matches he played in and everything he tells is so interesting," Yumiko Tamaru, branch secretary of the Official Liverpool Supporters Club in Japan, notes.

"I have never heard such a detailed match analysis from any other Liverpool players. I also find it amazing that he has [such] good memory and remembers every detail very clearly.

"Both his blogs and videos go deep into the details of the matches he played in – how he played, what he was thinking about and aiming at when he was playing, especially when he had to defend, how his teammates played, how he builds the relationship with his teammates during the matches, what Jürgen Klopp required, what Pep Lijnders said to him, how he values his teammates, and so on.

"I think he has a huge influence on lots of footballers in Japan and he is inspiring them a lot."

And then there are the glimpses into his life away from the pitch.

Ta reveals: "Shinji Okazaki went to see a match and they drove home together and his mum was just talking with Okazaki!"

When Endo talks, people in Japan listen, given where he's reached in football and as leader of the national team. That was the case long before his switch to Liverpool.

But becoming just the second Japanese player to represent the Reds' men's team (after Takumi Minamino) only further enhanced his stature.

Dedicated compatriots now regularly brave the early-morning rises, owing to the nine-hour time difference, to watch Endo shine in England.

On the reaction to his August 2023 transfer, Ta recalls: "It was euphoria, it was on the news all the time. The coverage was tremendous.

"Football magazines are still very, very popular here. The old-school format of collectable cards and printed flyers and posters, Endo in the Liverpool uniform was everywhere."

I am still waiting for Arne Slot to be officially unveiled as our new head coach. The delay is becoming strange and worrisome.

Liverpool were on course for a quadruple and then Klopp announced his departure.

Skool boy error.

VVD talking to Saudi. Why would captain do that to the mighty reds

Oh and this is cold

Liverpool great Hansen discharged from hospital

Liverpool great Alan Hansen has been discharged from hospital following illness, his former club has announced.

The former Scotland defender had received well wishes from across the game when Liverpool confirmed on 9 June that he was "seriously ill".

But on Sunday a family statement on the club website said that Hansen, 69, will "continue his recovery at home".

“Alan, Janet, Adam, Lucy and family would like to thank everybody for their wonderful messages of love and support,” the statement read., external

“It has been overwhelming and has helped enormously.

“We also hugely appreciate the ongoing respect that has been shown for our privacy as Alan continues his recovery.”

Hansen spent 14 years with Liverpool, winning eight First Division titles, three European Cups and two FA Cups during the 1970s and 1980s.

He is in the top 10 for all-time appearances for the Reds, having played 620 matches and won 17 major trophies during a golden-era for the club.

Hansen, who earned 26 caps for Scotland, began his senior career with Partick Thistle and joined Liverpool in 1977, spending four seasons as captain before retiring in 1991.

After hanging up his boots, Hansen moved into punditry and worked on BBC's Match of the Day from 1992 until 2014.

Talks of Zubimendi. What a signing he would be for Liverpool.

I've often said Liverpool fall short attracting the big names when other people clubs involved. Zubimendi has said no to a lot of clubs including Arsenal.

If Liverpool pull this off I'll say well played.

Let's see

This would be a huge upgrade for Liverpool in their DM position and would be allow their attacking midfielders to more freedom.

Also if zubemendi goes, they may be less inclined to let another midfielders go.
