Doesn't matter what offers he had from other teams, he was going to go wherever Josh McDaniels landed because of the mutual respect they have for one another.

Yeah, and the Pats are always so eager to respect what players want, esp WRs; cue Randy Moss and Dieon Branch.

Him wanting to re unite with Josh McD did not scare off Rams or the niners.

So what, two teams short in need of a receive being interested in a free agent receiver invalidates my point? :)) The moment Brandon Lloyd became a free agent it was more or less assumed by everybody that he'd end up in New England.

ffs, Jets deal for Tebow might fall through over a dispute regarding $5m owed to Tebow. If he ends up at the Rams I am going to slap someone.

We'll see.

In 10 seasons, he's gone over 740 yards once.

And that one season was when Josh McD was the OC. Not to mention that his current QB is Tom Brady...

Nothing is guaranteed in the NFL, but it will be VERY surprising if Llyod is not productive in the NE offense...

No, it was assumed that he would WANT to end up in NE. Rams obviously wanted him, niners were interested.

With BB, assume is simply ass u me... So anyone who assumed what BB would do was dreaming...

Bottom line, Llyod at $4 mil per is a steal !

He hasn't been the same since suffering the knee injury in 2010. Wasn't an every down LB last year.

I dunno much about except that he finally regained his pre-injury form towards the end of the season and started lighting it up in the playoffs. Also it wasnt just injury that slowed him down, he had trouble adjusting to a 3-4 which TExans were recently running as he was built in a 4-3, I am still a bit iffy on this one but Ihope things work out..

Ryans at 80% is better than the scrubs the Eagles have been throwing out there.

now I wanna see Tebow keep his hands of the ladies in NYC. Jeter watch out, you got competition now, hahah!

ohh is that it ??? I thought it would be more than that,, my ultimate dream scenario now would be to take Kleuchy even though Logic would suggest DT..........

Peter's stats last season;

only 3 sacks allowed in 570 pass plays, that too facing Ware Twice, JPP twice, Peppers and just about every other elite DE in the league,,, INCREDIBLE unhuman like stats........ Peters will be missed now Vick will have a major problem HUGEEEEEEEEEEEE problemmmm.............

Eagles signed OT Demetrius Bell,,, Phewwwwwwwwwwwwww more than adequate replacement for JP............................

so any other Saints players in other teams might get suspended? I hope everyone that is involved gets atleast a 8 game suspension. No room in the game for trying to purposely hurt someone and potentially end their career and impact their families.

Players will do that whether there are bounties or not. It's just pandering to advertisers and sponsors by handing down huge punishments so the league can pretend they care about player safety at the same time as trying to bring the 18 game regular season into existence.

Rumor has it that the Giants pick up LB Keith RIvers from the bengals for a 5th round pick. Rivers was a top 10 pick in 2008 but injuries have derailed his career. Let's see what he can do for us. Good move by JR.

B-Dawk retiring...he's one of those players you'd pay to go watch.

One of my bigest regrets; I missed his entire career as I moved to Aus in 96 and he came in in 97....Hardest hitting safety to ever play the game, I rem the hit below he gave Ike Hillard, Koed for the season I think...

DAWK deserved the ring, he has the record no of wins by an Eagle, heart, soul, passion, hits, sacks, interceptions everything... Unfortunate he didnt win it,, wasnt meant to be I guess..

Any Eagle fans here see the Dawk retirement press conference ?, it was one emotional speech by Dawk WOW........... I repeat; He is the greatest safety ever, I have seen Ronnie Lott play at his prime which most of you kids here on PP havent but Dawk is better not by a lot just slightly and surely should go to the HOF.........

NFL 2012/2013 Thread

With the draft in the books (everybody seems to love the Eagles draft!), we are on our way to a new season.

Will Philly finally win the Lombardi after last year's epic failure?

Legendary Linebacker Junior Seau committed suicide at his home today. A great player who dealt with concussions during his playing days. I'm sure the head injuries played a part in this.

Suicide always comes down to family problem for celebreties.

Just cant wait for the season to start,,,,, I coulddddddd almossstttt feeel it; another missed superbowl trip for Phillyy coming up :))...

Peter's career maybe over, damn he was playing lights out but I am quite excited about Dennis Kelly the kid looks like he has great feet.............

Yes. The year the Giants repeat as Super Bowl Champions! Bow down to the G-Men!

Well that's the thing, they usually have no problem with the Giants (Have won 7 of the past 8 vs G-Men) it's the rest of the league and the playoffs that they bow down to!

Did anybody else catch that 63 yarder from Akers? So amazing.

Also, RGIII had a nice game out, beat Brees and Co.

Pats crushing win today! Brady looked good and Ridley looks sensational! Our front seven seems so much more better than last year. Secondary is still questionable though.

Well, Eagles played as bad as they possible could but pulled out the W

Like I always say, every team in the NFL has a 1/29 chance of winning the Superbowl. Why 1/29? The Browns always fail by default.

Seeing as how the Eagles struggled against the brownies, things won't be looking good against higher quality teams :yk

Great win for my 49ers, especially at Lambeau given our poor record against the Packers. Moss gives us a red zone prescence so looking good. Gore looked awesome, Packers defense still very suspect

Ah, feels good to talk football again! Finally that time of the year... :)

Some awesome games to kick off the season. Pats looked good, especially The Riddler and the front 7. Stopping CJ to 4 yards rushing is no mean feat. My fav play was Chandler and Dont'a combining for a defensive TD! Man, was that sweet!!!

Niners pulled out a stunner, so the stick against Rodgers remains. He cannot come back and win, esp if they are trailing in the second half. He is an excellent QB, but he is no Brady, not yet atleast.

Seeing Manning back on the field and play mind games with Troy was football nirvana. Football is richer with Peyton playing again, and Im a pats fan!

Well then you are always wrong, since there are 32 teams in the league ;)

Yes, it is a worrying sign. The only good thing I can take away is that was a type of game they would have lost last year.

If Vick turns the ball over against even decent teams the Eagles will be in a lot of trouble. If McCoy was quarterbacking for the Browns yesterday - the results would have been different.

Cant wait for sunday, if the Vick from the browns game shows up, he's gonna have long day against the Ravens D..

Claymaker the III absolutely destroyed the Bears O-Line. Great win.

Go Pack GO!!!!

Eagles pick up from where they left off last year with 9 turnovers in 2 games.

Difference this year is that they're going into clutch mode at the end. 2-0.

Disgusting performance by the Eagles today.

Game was over at halftime.

Need to regroup quick, the G-Men are coming to town on 10 days rest.

Arizona Cardinals are for real, I think they might surprise everyone and win the NFC West. To beat the Eagles and Pats back to back takes some doing.

Very disappointed in the 49ers effort, a performance that reminded how bad we used to beat 2 years ago, no deep threat at all, team has become predictable.

The Pats Ravens game was too entertaining last night. Im just glad the Ravens won (even tho refs were just awful) :D

And so much respect for Torrey Smith! He had a great game despite the fact that his bro died the same day.
Flacco also outplayed Brady in the end (oh well, Flacco will still not get any respect)

Green Bay should go and park the team plane in Roger Goodell's driveway.

That was absolutely horrible. No justification for that call.
