I had no doubt in my mind that sheamus was going to be champion by the end of the night
) I don't think everyone knows that he is great friends with HHH and this was always going to be a fantastic opportunity for the two to work together
Am SO RELIEVED that RR is not champion even though he is a better option on paper given that he'd be a fresh face. But honestly although he is improved as an A/R performer there is so much work to be done, the guy botched his promo backstage after beating Alberto and then in the match against Ambrose he just froze on the top or second rope as Ambrose when for the sunset flip powerbomb, when ambrose Flipped Reigns didn't move lol thing is we can excuse that as a one off or something that happens but when you're the chosen one and destined to be the future of the company stuff like that gets scrutinized. Thing is Aman they were never going to turn RR heel as much as I want that, they have invested so much in him as a face that it would be a waste turning him now; creative also realise that RR is not completely over with portions of the audience so this new angle is designed to generate sympathy. It worked with Bryan because he was super over with the audience and was actually incredibly talented in the ring so the pay off was sweet in the end but with Reigns am not sure how far they are going with this or if he will be able to win fans over in the end but this is the best move in terms of keeping Reigns Baby Face I guess. Keep screwing Reigns, give him more time to improve and get over, hope that certain fans accept him and all. Sheamus is just a placeholder champion in all of this but with the Authority behind him his heel work is going to be better.
Was gutted that the Wyatts lost but I guess Undertaker is too big to lose on his 25th Anniversary. Creative have taken the Wyatts for granted in terms of how good they are and rely on Bray's mic skills to control the damage of their momentum being crushed. leatherface58 Vince Russo had been a part of the WWE long before the Attitude era came about but under the guidance of Vince his ideas and storylines were very good and helped save the WWF. On his own he lacks direction and it's a matter of throwing a pile of crap at the wall and seeing what sticks but with Vince he was very very good.
SS PPV was okay, it upset me that Paige and Charlotte were in the dead spot and whoever was behind booking that match should have been fired! the layout was awful and it didn't help that the audience was full of crap. Wyatts losing was another blunder from creative. Kevin Owens v Ambrose was easily the match of the night.
Personally would have liked to have seen Reigns turn heel since they want him as champ although Ambrose turning would refresh his persona to but am pretty sure WWE have it planned at some point, am guessing they knew it may have been predictable here so they could be waiting to pull the trigger when we don't expect it. However from the perspective of keeping Reigns babyface in the long run they've done the right thing by having Sheamus go over.
What I took from the PPV though, Bray Wyatt and Kevin Owens are easily the most polished guys to be in contention for World Championship. KO just come up and I get that he needs to elevate the IC title for now so that's fine but why not Bray? no reason why he shouldn't be in the main-event picture or WWE champion.
Also Adil, Sheamus is a criminally underrated worker and I expect him to do a decent job of carrying Reigns; the matches will be very physical and perhaps it's a style which will showcase Reigns strengths. Don't know about Barettt Seems he is lost in the shuffle.
