)If you fear for your life why announce you are going to London. Its not too hard to track down what time the flights from Dubai to London are and for these "fixers" to be waiting for him at the airport
MY QUESTION IS HOW THE HELL DID ANYBODY KNOW THAT ZONI IS GOING TO PLAY AN IMPORTANT ROLE IN THE 4TH ODI?
I think Zoni is lying. there is something else going one. MY QUESTION IS HOW THE HELL DID ANYBODY KNOW THAT ZONI IS GOING TO PLAY AN IMPORTANT ROLE IN THE 4TH ODI? Bookie thing is total BSh!t

just saw this.dunno how to react.international player goes missing on tour?Pakistan cricket continues to surprise us
Who is getting the most of benefits from this?
Because he can find asylum in UK, he won't get any protection in Pakistan.
the bookies imo
they're very hopeful now that their man is going be keeping wicket for Pakistan in the World Cup :kami
Hi man i was waiting for u since ur an expert on these things.I mean everyone says bookie threats, how many times in pakistan cricket history have bookies actually carried these threats of harming or injuring players or their families in case the players dont comply(there must be people who must have said no obviously).Has it happened, but not come in the news.just a question.
Naheen yaar NAHHEEEN!
What is happening to Pakistan cricket
can anyone give a summary. I don't want to read 5 pages![]()
If he's flying to the UK from a country other than the one where he's a citizen (which is exactly what he is doing if he's heading to London), then my understanding is that he's not entitled to seek asylum here.
Maybe he doesn't know that, or maybe he has things to say that may be of interest to English newspapers, who pay more for stories than Pakistan ones? Purely speculation of course, but whatever is the case, we're likely to find out soon enough.
In UAE, you always have ti carry your passport or hakamaa
I could be wrong but I think Wasim Akram's father was kidnapped (or disappeared) for a few days.

Is that actually his facebook?
http://www.cricinfo.com/pakistan/content/story/486103.htmlPakistan wicketkeeper Zulqarnain Haider is reported to be at Dubai airport and preparing to fly to the United Kingdom. Sources in the PCB confirmed his presence at the airport a couple of hours after saying he was missing from the team currently playing the deciding ODI against South Africa at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium.

As soon as I heard he was missing I thought it had to do with match fixing. Maybe now the ICC can see how deep this problem is and how scared the players are. Maybe its a positive for young Amir. It might help hs cause.
As for for him flying to the UK, as I understand it, he shouldn't be allowed to board the plane unless he has a valid visa or the airline becomes responsible. So either he has a valid visa or something has been arranged.
Maybe the Anti Corruption Unit are involved and have taken him into their protection?
Sad state of affairs whatever is happening.
Why on earth only Haider is threatened when most of the time his role is not very crucial, sure he played well last game but then more threats should be given to Wahab, hes the one who made it closer twice in last two games.

But isn't he flying into UK from UAE which is not the country of his citizenship ?
absolutely my point this might help out PAK with the spot fixing
That's exactly my point. People are not normally considered for asylum unless they arrive directly from their country of origin.
Who is getting the most of benefits from this? He is out the team today.
Umar akmal in, and if this will continue then Kamran will join the team.
What I can't understand is, how is everyone so normal?
Did Afridi, Waqar, Intikhab, rest of the team helped him?
How did he gets his passport?
All of all this is very very sad and very shameful for PCB, Pakistan and the team.
No one supporting him!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You are really hoping to get the cheaters off, by hook or crook
+1zoni was chosen cos hes a keeper - if he rejected their advances... He should be given a medal...
Kamran and his cronies won't let him play the test series.

LOL itll be hilarious if goes to the UK and files for an asylum. I wouldnt be surprised if thats why he is doing all this.
A good point about the possibility that he might have told the Anti Corruption Unit, and that they might be protecting him. Odd that the PCB weren't made aware though, unless he and the Anti Corruption Unit didn't think they could be trusted.
Regarding possible reasons for his flight to the UK, it's not only the press who might be interested in speaking to him. There's also Scotland Yard!
I'm calling Zulqarnain's number but he isn't picking up. It's ringing though.
Im sorry but that is incorrect. Hardly any asylum seekers come to the UK direct they tend to come via several different countries.
The UK doesn't normally grant asylum unless the asylum seeker arrives directly from the country where they are a citizen, so if that is what he's doing, he's gone about it in a strange way, and I don't rate his chances of success.
Anyhow, Big Harvey, are you suggesting Zoni has become a whistleblower for ICC against PCB?

I'm only speculating. There are a number of possible reasons why all this could be happening.
Maybe this is all just a massive sulk after he got fined for staying out late. That seems a bit unlikely though.
