Imran said after WC win that in pressure games its always gud to bat 1st.Considering our batting performance so far.it would have been better to bat 1st.

Bad idea to put SA into bat

Before the game, both coaches said it would be better to bowl first considering the weather.

may be it was ploy by SA to throw pakistan off track. I still think it was a bad idea to bat.

these guys are playing really well, i thought they would struggle against the midgety off breaks of akmal but they seem to be in fine form.

S.A school boy cricket is very well developed . From a young age the kids are playing in inter school league with good coaching and playing 2 matches a week in a very competitive environment , equipment and grounds .

S African captain said that he was going to bat 1st.

You're playing a World Cup Semi-Final against the best bowling line-up in the World in your age group, are you going to admit you werent going to bat first? No-one gives away any advantage with the stakes so high!

yeah may be but i would have batted first.

102-1 after 22 overs.

S.A would have been thrilled to bat first I.m.o ......the psychological factor of chasing in a semi final is far worse than anything the conditions can offer...

The Saffie commentator just said 'the Pakis.. the Pakistanis'

Must be difficult for him since its not a racial slur in South Africa

Yeah....honestly there is nothing racial about that in S.A . We'd use "Pakis" in the same was we'd use "windies" or "aussies" or "kiwis" ...

We have plenty of people of Pakistan origin in south africa....we have a name for them.......we call them "South Africans" ...

strange that they had umar akmal(very short man) at the boundary and the ball went over his head for a 6

why are we still continuing with spinners? we have a decent fast bowling attack i suppose. get one of them on.

Because he's a rubbish fielder, too bulky to be good close-in so you have to hide him somewhere

Yeah that must be it.

They are not playing the leg spinner as well as they played the other bowlers.

It was great to see how disappointed Smutts was at getting out even on 58, it shows he's hungry for big scores.

Most Pakistani players would be happy coz they've 'done their bit' and got a 50, this is one of the reasons our batsmen dont have more bigger scores.

wow what an over from Raza, totally owned the Saffie batsmen there. Lets hope they can start to apply some pressure now

Not like the good old days in the 80s huh

Even then . When genetics took off they embarked on mass testing in South Africa to try and differentiate the races so that they could determine who were the people of "pure" blood. .....they quickly abolished this idea when it was found that 90% of afrikaans had "mixed" blood ....... ah....interesting times .

Nope Vinci. Sawry !!
No problem :D

Looks like the match is beautifully set up. A total of 250 from here looks possible. With hard hitting batsmen like Parnell still to come, they might even post more. Parnell's new ball spell would be crucial. If he can get a few wickets and put Pakistan under extra pressure apart from being in a semi-final, it will be GAME ON !

pakistan is back into the game, hopefully we will try and squeeze another wicket. two new batsmen on the crease.

250+ is looking very likely now. The bowlers have bowled well but the S African batsmen seem to be in excellent form.

Crucial wicket that! Huge wicket!

Good stuff from our sifarishi bits and pieces captain.

yeah.........250-260. Not sure if that will be a winning score. Will have to wait and see.

New batsmen is the next great S.A all rounder ....according to many S.a cricker pundits...

Cricket is a funny game....but that's going to be tough to get in a semi final . But we all know about S.a teams and Semi-finals in world cups...they will find some way to choke .

Also under 19 cricket is not quite the same as international cricket.....scores are normally much lower due to the bowlers developing earlier than the batsmen .

200 for 4 after 42.1 overs.

Come on Pakistan.
