🤣 what a miss, no surprise

This guy makes Darwin nunez look lethal

Nunez is on fire at the copa , he outscored havertz even with horrific misses

Danes look dangerous now
Denmark need to take a chance soon. Otherwise they will get picked off 2 or 3 nil on counter

Fine finish . It’s over .

Germany may win this if Spain don’t .
Spain are better on ball then Denmark, plus if Denmark are causing this much problems so will Spain.

Could be Germany vs Spain / France vs Portugal so who ever comes through All that will be favs lol

🇪🇸 Sergio Ramos completed the most dribbles in the 2010 World Cup (31) which is the highest by any player in the tournament.

⭐️ Statistically, Sergio Ramos was the highest-rated player in the 2010 World Cup.

✅ He played as a right-back throughout the tournament.

Greatness! 🙌🏽👏🏽

Germany have reached the quarterfinals of a major tournament for the first time since EURO 2016.

Kai Havertz and Jamal Musiala scored as Euro 2024 hosts Germany reached the quarter-finals by beating Denmark in a game that was interrupted by a spectacular storm

The last-16 tussle at Borussia Dortmund's Westfalenstadion was suspended for around 20 minutes towards the end of the first half, as lightning lit up the sky and the pitch was soaked by hail and heavy rain.

But the game was also notable for calls by the video assistant referee, with Nico Schlotterbeck having had an early header ruled out by VAR, while Denmark were denied in the second half when Joachim Andersen's strike was chalked off as team-mate Thomas Delaney was flagged just offside.

Germany were celebrating another VAR call in their favour moments after the Danes' disallowed goal when referee Michael Oliver was called to the pitchside monitor and awarded a penalty for handball by Andersen.

Havertz put a cool spot-kick out of Kasper Schmeichel's reach to delight the passionate home fans.

The forward should have scored a second soon after when he clipped a shot over Schmeichel only to see it go wide, but Germany had their decisive second with just over 20 minutes remaining.

This time it was young star Musiala who got the goal as he raced through on the left and slotted into the far corner.

From then on the home fans were on their feet, roaring their side on for more goals, hoping they would really lay down a marker to suggest they might go all the way.

No more were forthcoming, but the Germany fans cheered their side passionately at the final whistle in celebration of this convincing win.

They will next play the winner of Sunday's game between Spain, who have looked one of the best sides so far at Euro 2024, and surprise package Georgia. That quarter-final is scheduled for Friday, 5 July.

Italy must be the most boring country to ever have played the game. No creativity, flair or intention to score at all they deserved to be eliminated from the tournament. In the other match Denmark were surely hard done by being rejected that goal. The penalty awarded against them seemed very dodgy as well from where I was sitting. I guess the ref gave in to the pressure of the home fans.

Man arrested after climbing onto Euro 2024 stadium roof

A 21-year-old man who climbed onto the roof of Dortmund's stadium during the Euro 2024 match between Germany and Denmark on Saturday evening has been arrested.

Local police say a man from Osnabruck in north-west Germany has been detained.

They added that there is currently no evidence that the man intended to endanger spectators at the Westfalenstadion, which is the home of Borussia Dortmund.

Authorities said on Saturday that they were using a helicopter to illuminate the roof in a bid to find the man, who had been spotted by fellow spectators climbing the interior of the stadium.

The match had to be temporarily suspended in the 35th minute because of a thunderstorm, but Germany's 2-0 win took the hosts through to the quarter-finals.

England have been so lucky with draws in competitions.

Need a proper performance in which should be an easy match v Slovakia .

But it’s English, bottling tournaments is expected

Need a statement win here. 3-0, couple of Kane goals and a clean sheet.

Slovakia started game well here, causing England issues

This may go ET or pens later

Another chance for Slovakia, walker nowhere to be seen

England collecting more yellow cards then creating chances

Eng 0-1 SVK

England trash lol

Fully deserved lead .

This could be embarrassing if England don’t start playing any type of football

Some fans on were saying Kyle walker was world class 🤣🤦‍♂️

Foden shouldn't have bothered coming back 🤣, gone missing again

Apart from Mainoo, no one had turned up

This team under Southgate has never had a style of play , being behind you’re confused how to move the ball , your positioning , intent , pretty much everything .

England can win this but only via a mistake or a moment of brilliance but both looking unlikely atm .

Fans will boo at halftime, more pressure

HALF-TIME

England 0-1 Slovakia

Lots and lots of jeers from England fans greet the half-time whistle. The Three Lions are heading out of Euro 2024 as it stands.

I've seen better fluidity from Sunday league teams. Like you say no style of play, players not being used to their strengths.

At Same time a lot of these players can take blame as well. It's been a 💩 so far.

Only saving grace is Slovakia have gone to defensive which will help England apply pressure. Slovakia should try and kill game off

England creating chances now. Slovakia two defensive

Saka playing at left back 🤣. Southgate taking the p now , he should get him to run at the defence , only one who can , feel sorry for the boy.

Slovakia playing with brain . England tempo improving but not quality

Saka started his career at LB at youth level and under Emery. Better option then tripper and Shaw haha.

10 mins( including extra time) is left. If england want to score, they gotta do it now or else pressure will be too much

England have the worst players money can buy.

England got lucky , great moment from Jude who’s been average but players not knowing what to do has been their weakness.

Anyone’s game , Slovakia is still in this with a great keeper if it goes to pens

Jude Bellingham produced a moment of genius to keep England in Euro 2024 as they survived another desperate display and a huge scare to beat Slovakia in dramatic fashion to reach the last eight.

England were seconds away from an embarrassing exit in Gelsenkirchen as Slovakia defended a lead they had held since the 25th minute when Ivan Schranz raced into to the box to poke a low finish past England keeper Jordan Pickford.

It was then that Bellingham, who celebrated his 21st birthday on Saturday, demonstrated the brilliance that has made him England’s new superstar by going airborne in the penalty area to send Marc Guehi’s headed flick past Martin Dubravka with a stunning overhead kick.

Bellingham rescued England from a performance that scaled such depths that his goal was their first effort on target – but then set the platform for a victory as Slovakia, who had defended so stubbornly, were left stunned.

And captain Harry Kane emphasised England’s sudden superiority a minute into the extra 30 minutes when he headed home from close range to complete a remarkable turnaround and set up a quarter-final meeting with Switzerland.

England’s display before Bellingham’s wonder goal was another to add to the catalogue of mediocrity they have delivered under Gareth Southgate in Germany, even though Kane had missed an easy header and Declan Rice struck a post as they strived for the equaliser.

Bellingham, the young man with the Midas touch, came up with the goods to save them at the death as England's stuttering Euro 2024 journey goes on.

Shocking performance. We played as if we were constipated. No creativity, no rhythm and few chances. The FBs give us nothing and all the attacks break down when they get the ball, Kane has been incredibly poor and Foden has been awful. Our local lad Jude brought them back from dead

Agree but 1990 was similar. Awful in the group stages, rubbish against the Belgians and Cameroon and ironically they lost the best game they played in the SF against W Germany

They can't manage the Expectations. The weight of the jersey is clearly telling. Swiss just put Italy of their misery last week, England's turn next week

The Swiss have a good system 3-4-3 and look pretty solid defensively and going forward. England will be missing Guehi through suspension so that will effect England defensively. Unless England improve in midfield they will lose

They can't. It's the same story since I have been watching from 82 onwards. Keegans miss from 4 yards out right at the end of the Spain game (that would have put them into the SF against Fr) still lives in the memory

Ageee. But hopefully they can find some confidence after today

England's should have got to final in euro 96, they had chances to brat Germany in semis.

The final vs Italy in 2021, that was southgates rubbish tactics which cost them.

But even 96 they drew with Switzerland, played OK against Scotland and beat a divided Dutch team and they got played off the park by Spain which included Nadal uncle of Rafael.

Yeah they did ride their luck vs Spain, I remember the 2 disallowed Spain goals. But that's one tournament England played positive football.

Bro. Like Amjid says. England have no structure. Today was just about of individual quality that saw off a ordinary Slovakia side.

The Swiss are a VERY good side. They've got good quality with structure. And most importantly they had no expectations, so they are playing with freedom. England will be once again expected to win, but the Swiss will be to strong
