I call nyc home. Very few people have left nyc due to the pandemic for good. Rents are down ( short term). Sale prices are holding ,, 5-7 percent down in manhattan. A bit less in Brooklyn and Brooklyn 2 beds with private outdoor up 5 percent. Columbia university one of the biggest landlords in nyc just. Colllected 90 percent of the pre pandemic rent (third quarter). Upper middle calls leaving . Rich people will return as usual. Where else will they go to spend their hard earned money.

look at the data families are leaving NYC towards south because of rents and I also gave my personal example of bunch of people I knew who moved out of NYC even before covid
some shake up is needed in city hall this is getting out of control
