Usman Khawaja and Tim Paine take Australia to nail-biting draw in first Test against Pakistan

You cannot win over Australia when we have 3-4 passengers in our team. Bilal is not good enough to represent another 5 test. Any good batsman will read him after playing 1 or 2 innings.
 
26 overs still a lot of time. Patience is key.

One wicket away really. Tail don't have the capacity to survive in such a situation - Day 5 vs. Yasir and Bilal. No matter how ineffective they look now.

Khawaja has been there a long time too. Concentration will soon wear thin.
 
Yasir has been average in this season both domestic plus international. Bilal got 6 wickets in 1st innings but he wont do this in every innings. Plus he isnt getting any turn and Aussies arent afraid of him.
 
Not great signs for the next game

Yasir shah has been completely neutralised. He will struggle in the next game also

Whe was the last time Yasir was relevant in a test match? Seems like a long time ago when he last performed.
 
I wouldn't be surprised if Wahab hands in his retirement plea by the end of this series. Needs to move on and focus mainly on T20 and franchise cricket. Isnt getting any younger toiling on dead UAE tracks.
 
Sarfraz should bowl Haris more. He is our best spinner in this innings. Probably should have tried with Azhar too.
 
Lucky we didn't at in 4th innings otherwise Australia would have won the match.
 
Yasir has slowly been on the decline

He bowls a lot of overs for his wickets and nowadays there seems to be very little variation
 
Whatever the result, this is a brilliant fightback by the Aussies. Thye should take away a lot from this and be more confident in the next game. What a comeback after sandpaper gate and the loss of Warner and Smith!
 
Good comeback by Australia. Never imagined that. Surely the wicket is still good for batting but you have to question both the captaincy and bowling here.
 
If we can't get another wicket in next 3-4 overs its time to handshake. Our bowlers can't get 5 wickets in 15-17 overs.
 
But happy for Khwajha sahib, his best knock!

Yasir has been poor throughout the domestic season and didnt look threatening.
 
Time for Abbas to show why he is the best bowler in Pakistan.
 
Still think Nathan Lyon will run through us in one of the innings in the next test match.

Will make Aussies favourite for next game

He's been trying for 40 overs at Khwaja from round the wicket. Hasn't worked. The foot marks haven't worked so logic dictates you change your strategy.
 
Early non review messing with Sarfraz head. Typical emotional pak player lacking mental strength

Just look at Dhoni for calmness and mental toughness
 
There's nothing to suggest that 1 wicket will bring more wickets. Starc, Siddle, Lyon are all capable to hold their own for the next 15 overs at least combined. This Test is done. Over to the next one. However what I'm surprised is that Sarfraz doesn't have 7 fielders around the bat. He's been horrible.
 
Everything about Sarfraz just stinks. Overweight, can't bat, rubbish keeper and is an poor captain

Get rid please
 
Sarfraz has been mediocre at best ever since he became captain. Be it his batting, wicket keeping or captaincy.

He missed lot of tricks not just one..
Poor Field placing and above all.. He didn't give abbas 1st over of the day..
 
Abbas to strike later and get his 50 wickets while helping Pakistan to a win. Don't worry guys!

Wahab again proving fast bowling is not all about pace but it is all about skill .
 
Discard wahab and bring in another top 5 pacer from the domestic.
 
I still can't get myself to understand how Sarfraz has not had 7 fielders around the bat for spinners. Which runs is he looking to defend?
 
It's tight, but still just enough time to claim victory.

What times. Is it a standard procedure for umpires to refer to the TV umpire in a case of a run out appeal. I mean in this case the whole body was behind the line when the bails were dislodged.

I have seen old cricket matches on YouTube where onfield umpire feel give run out decision from the hips.

That is mental part of the game. Which most of Pakistani players are weak.

First you don't take a review on a dead plumb lbw. Then your desperate to take a review whenever the opportunity arises. Not knowing every case is a different case.
 
If these two manage to survive 6-8 more over s. Australian tail have the potential to survive 6-8 overs.
 
If Australia bat first in the next Test match and with Pakistan probably playing with just 1 quality bowler in Abbas, Australia will fancy their chances of a series win. Yasir and Bilal have been very ordinary.
 
Does Sarfraz really things our bowlers are capable to take 5 wickets in 15 overs? I bet even taking 2 wickets is impossible with this type of bowling

At lease 80 deliveries left. 4 of them have to be wicket taking one. I say let's believe in it.
