Two sisters died the same day in Rajasthan's Jodhpur after allegedly consuming a poisonous substance. According to police, both woman, identified as Shobha (25) and Vimla (23) were set to be married on Saturday. Their family was preparing for the wedding festivities of their two daughters, when the incident occurred. The wedding celebrations at their home continued until late Friday night. Around midnight, both brides went to sleep and allegedly consumed pesticide. Their health deteriorated soon after, and family members rushed them to a private hospital, where doctors declared both dead.
"At about 4 am, their health suddenly deteriorated, prompting family members to take them to a private hospital. They were declared dead on arrival, and their bodies were brought back home, where funeral preparations began," ADCP (West) Roshan Meena stated.

When police received this information, they arrived at the scene and halted the funeral arrangements. The bodies were sent to the mortuary for a post-mortem examination and were later returned to the family, officials said. Preliminary investigations suggest that the sisters may have died after consuming a poisonous substance; however, the exact cause of death will be confirmed after the post-mortem report is completed.

So far, no suicide note has been recovered from the scene. The two sisters as per reports were teacher by profession.

This comes weeks after three minor sisters died by suicide after falling from the ninth-floor apartment in Ghaziabad. The incident took place on February 4 around 2.15 am. "Would've Cremated Him Alone": Lucknow Man Who Murdered Father To Cops

Akshat shot his father, Manvendra Singh, in a fit of rage during a fight in the early hours of February 20, chopped his body into pieces and disposed it off.

Lucknow:
Akshat Pratap Singh, a 21-year-old man from Lucknow who murdered his father and chopped the body into pieces, has confessed to the crime during interrogation. Sobbingly, he told the police that if he had the chance, he would have cremated his 50-year-old parent alone, officials said.

Akshat shot his father, Manvendra Singh, in a fit of rage during a fight in the early hours of February 20. Minutes later, he moved the body from the third floor of the family home to a vacant room on the ground floor, where he used a machine to dismember the body. Sources said that he severed the legs below the knees, chopped off both hands, and decapitated the victim. He then disposed of the chopped parts near Sadrauna on the outskirts of Lucknow - around 21 kilometres away from his home.

The accused had carried his father's torso in a blue drum to dispose of it, too, but a knock on his parked car caused him to panic and leave the body in the drum, sources said.

The grisly crime was reportedly witnessed by the accused's sister - whom he threatened into silence.

In a move to divert the police, Akshat filed a missing person report for his father. Sources said that Akshat - who had returned home after committing the crime - was switching his two mobile phones on and off constantly. The police have seized both the phones, and his Instagram account has been deactivated.

Accused bought knife, room freshner

Days before the crime, Akshat had bought a knife - indicating that it was a well-planned murder, sources said.

Sources also revealed that while chopping the body into pieces, the accused used a room freshener to keep the stench away.

Accused stole cash, jewellery from father

A few days before the killing, Akshat had stolen jewellery and cash from the house and blamed the maid for the theft. According to the accused's neighbour, he stole it to buy expensive gifts for his girlfriend and to indulge in debauchery. His father was aware of Akshat's relationship, he told NDTV.

"He was addicted to drugs, which troubled Manavendra," he added.

The accused also transferred a large amount of money to another unidentified person's bank account. The cops are investigating the bank details, officials said.

The neighbour further claimed that the victim fought with a woman on the phone on the day of the incident.

Fight over studies

Sources also revealed that the father-son used to have frequent fights over Akshat's studies.

Akshat was uninterested in studies and had resisted his father's wish that he become a doctor. Sources said this academic pressure had created a long-standing, volatile relationship between them. The businessman had wanted his son to continue the family business, but Akshat had problems with it and wanted his father to pursue something else.

According to the neighbour, there was so signs of remorse on Akshat's face after the crime.

Akshat's mother's death under scanner

Akshat's mother had died 10 years ago; however, the cause of her death remains suspicious as no one in the family is talking about her to the police.

Sources indicate that she died by suicide.

UP Man, Who Spent 23 Years In Jail For Wife, Children's Murders, Acquitted By Allahabad High Court

According to the prosecution, on the intervening night of August 29-30, 2003, Raees allegedly slit the throats of his wife and their three children with a knife following a domestic dispute

The Allahabad High Court has acquitted a man who spent about 23 years in jail after being convicted for the murder of his wife and three children, holding that the prosecution failed to conclusively prove his guilt.

A division bench of Justices Siddharth and Jai Krishna Upadhyay described the case as a "sad commentary on our criminal justice delivery system" and said it required serious introspection.

In its February 16 judgment, the court observed that "real remedial measures like increasing the number of judges, their supporting staff and infrastructure are the need of the hour as merely holding conferences and meetings can never ameliorate the situation".

Acquitting the accused, Raees, the bench remarked that although he was being released, "his real punishment has not come to an end and his real ordeal will begin after his release".

"His parents and siblings may not be alive. His wife and three children have already died and whether his surviving son Ajeem who must be aged about 25-26 years now will welcome his father to his house is also not certain," the bench said.

According to the prosecution, on the intervening night of August 29-30, 2003, Raees allegedly slit the throats of his wife and their three children with a knife following a domestic dispute. The FIR was lodged by the victim's woman's uncle.

The trial court had convicted him of four counts of murder and sentenced him to life imprisonment.

While hearing his appeal against conviction, the high court examined the prosecution evidence, including the testimony of the sole alleged eyewitness," the couple's surviving five-year-old son, Ajeem.

The court noted that during cross-examination, the child admitted that he had given tutored statements at the behest of the informant and a government advocate. He also stated that he was threatened with eviction from the informant's house if he did not testify as instructed.

The bench further took note of an existing land dispute between the informant and the accused, which it said cast doubt on the informant's motives.

The court also examined the medical evidence, which contradicted the prosecution's claim regarding the weapon used. The postmortem reports indicated that the fatal injuries were inflicted by a very heavy incised weapon that almost severed the necks of the victims from their bodies.

The bench observed that this finding negated the prosecution's theory that the injuries were caused by an ordinary knife allegedly recovered at the instance of the accused.

"While it was a gruesome murder of a mother and her three children in the most brutal manner, the prosecution's evidence could not conclusively implicate and prove that the offence was committed by none other than the appellant," it said.

Granting the benefit of doubt, the high court acquitted Raees and directed that he be released forthwith if not wanted in any other case.

Talks regarding their marriage were also ongoing between their families. However, late last night, an argument reportedly broke out between the two over an undisclosed issue, which escalated into a violent altercation.

Earlier, a Valentine’s Day outing in Haryana's Bahadurgarh, ended in a shocking murder after a banker was allegedly killed by her husband, who then tried to stage the crime as a robbery. Police said they solved the case within 18 hours.

The victim, Mahak, was found dead after her husband, chartered accountant Anshul Dhawan, called police late Saturday night, claiming the couple had been attacked by unknown assailants while returning from dinner. However, officers who reached the scene quickly noticed inconsistencies in his account. Investigators said Dhawan repeatedly changed his version of events and could not provide details about the alleged attackers, raising suspicion and leading to the case being unravelled.

When questioned strictly, Anshul eventually broke down and confessed to the murder. Police said he had been suspicious of Mahak’s character, who worked at HDFC Bank in Gurugram and led to frequent arguments between the couple. Mahak’s father, Krishna Kathuria, said he had suspected his son-in-law from the beginning.
According to investigators, Anshul wore gloves during the crime to avoid leaving fingerprints. He allegedly strangled Mahak first and then used scissors to slit her throat. Police said the murder took place shortly after the couple had spent Valentine’s Day evening together.

Bengaluru School Horror: Door Slammed on Hand, 6-Year-Old Loses Fingers, Staff ‘Dumped’ Them In Bin

A six-year-old girl lost two fingers in a school door accident in Tumakuru, with teachers booked for alleged negligence and delay in providing medical care.

A six-year-old girl lost two fingers in a shocking incident at a government primary school in Guluru on the outskirts of Tumakuru, around 75 km from Bengaluru. The incident took place on February 11, when the Class 1 student was waiting in a queue for her mid-day meal. An iron classroom door was allegedly slammed on her hand, severing two fingers. Despite heavy bleeding, teachers present at the school didn't rush her to hospital immediately. Rather, the severed fingers as per reports were swept up and thrown into a waste bin.

Her parents, daily-wage construction workers, alleged in their complaint as per Times of India that no attempt was made to preserve the fingers or arrange emergency care.
As her parents were informed late, valuable time was lost before they could reach the school. They rushed her to the Tumakuru District Hospital, where doctors reportedly said reattachment might have been possible if the fingers had been retrieved promptly.

When the parents returned to the school searching for the severed fingers, they were allegedly told that staff had disposed of them because the sight of blood frightened other students. The family also alleged that the school authorities transferred Rs 2,000 to the parents’ account.

Following the complaint, Tumakuru Rural police registered an FIR against headmaster Nagesh, teachers Renukamma and Venkatesh, and block education officer Hanumanthappa under Sections 125(a), 238, and 190 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023, along with Section 75 of the Juvenile Justice Act. An investigation is currently underway.

"If they responded immediately, the outcome might have been different," a relative of the parents was quoted as saying by TOI.
A senior Tumakuru district police officer told TOI that "Based on the complaint by the kid's parents, we have registered the FIR. The parents have named a few teaching and non-teaching staffers. We are currently questioning them."

3-Year-Old Boy Dies After Falling into Water-Filled Pit in Greater Noida, Month After Techie's Death

A tragic incident occurred in Dalelgarh village, Greater Noida, where a three-year-old boy named Devansh fell into a deep, water-filled pit and drowned.

Greater Noida: A three-year-old boy died after falling into a deep, water-filled pit in Dalelgarh village under the Dankaur police station area of Greater Noida on Saturday, triggering anger among villagers who allege long-standing negligence by authorities. The incident took place when the child, Devansh, was playing near a temple where a community feast was being organised. According to villagers, the pit had been lying open for a long time and had filled with water after recent rains, posing a serious danger.

Anil, a resident of Dalelgarh, had returned to his parents’ home a few days ago from his in-laws’ place in Secunderabad (Bulandshahr) along with his son Devansh and daughter. On Saturday, the family went to the nearby temple to attend the feast. While playing in the area, Devansh accidentally slipped and fell into the water-filled pit.

By the time family members and villagers managed to pull him out, the child had already died. His sudden death has left the family devastated and plunged the village into grief.

Villagers alleged that they had repeatedly complained about the open pit and other such hazards in the area but no action was taken. They said that even after a recent incident near Sector 150, they had written to the Greater Noida Authority demanding that dangerous pits be filled and proper safety measures put in place.

Despite these complaints, the pit in Dalelgarh remained uncovered, villagers claimed.
Police said they have been informed about the incident and further action will be taken as per procedure. The matter has once again raised questions about civic safety and the lack of preventive measures in residential and village areas.

Noida Techie's Death
This comes a month after, a 27-year-old software engineer, Yuvraj Mehta, died after drowning in an open pit in Noida’s Sector 150, despite struggling for hours to save himself.
The tragedy occurred late on January 16 near Yuvraj’s home, when his car broke through the edge of a deep trench that had been dug years ago for a mall basement and left unsecured. The pit, filled with rainwater mixed with sewage, had turned into a deadly trap.
Yuvraj, who did not know how to swim, managed to cling to his sinking car and stay afloat for nearly two hours before he drowned.

1 Man, Over 80 Men At Rescue, Still No Saviour: Noida Techie's Father Says Authorities 'Left Him At God's Mercy'

The tragic drowning of Yuvraj Mehta, a 27-year-old software engineer, in Noida's waterlogged trench highlights severe deficiencies in India's emergency response system. Despite nearly 80 rescuers on-site, including police and disaster response teams, no one entered the water to save him as he struggled for two hours.

Noida: When 27-year-old software engineer Yuvraj Mehta cried out for help from a waterlogged trench in Noida on a foggy January night, he was not alone. Around him stood nearly 80 rescuers from multiple agencies, floodlights piercing the mist, ropes dangling into the dark water, and emergency vehicles lining the road. Yet, despite the overwhelming presence of manpower, Yuvraj drowned—slowly, helplessly—exposing what many now describe as a devastating institutional failure in India’s emergency response system.

A desperate night in Sector 150

The tragedy unfolded late on January 16 near Yuvraj’s home in Noida’s Sector 150, where his car broke through the edge of a deep trench dug years ago for a mall basement and left unsecured. Rainwater mixed with sewage had filled the pit, turning it into a deadly trap. Yuvraj, who did not know how to swim, managed to cling to his sinking car and stay afloat for nearly two hours.

He screamed for help, switched on his phone’s flashlight and waved it frantically, hoping someone would see him through the dense fog. By around 1.30 am, his cries stopped.

A Father’s Account: ‘My Son Gave Them Two Hours’

For Raj Mehta, the night is a blur of hope turning into horror. “My son was very brave,” he said. “Even after falling into the pit, he struggled for almost two hours. He gave the rescue team ample time. But they showed great negligence and left my son to God’s mercy. He could have been easily rescued.”

Thanking citizens and the media for amplifying his voice, Raj Mehta said justice for Yuvraj would not bring his son back, but accountability might prevent another such death. “I want strict action against those responsible so that no other Yuvraj suffers this fate,” he said, welcoming the UP government’s decision to constitute a special investigation team (SIT).

Many responders, no decisive action

Yuvraj’s father, Raj Mehta, was the first to receive the SOS call and immediately dialled 112. A police response vehicle reached the spot within nine minutes, followed by personnel from the local police station. The fire brigade arrived around 45 minutes later, and then the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF). Eventually, the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) was also called in.
In total, close to 80 responders gathered at the site. Yet no one entered the water. Police personnel threw ropes into the trench, hoping Yuvraj—barely visible in the fog—would catch one. Firefighters attempted to deploy a makeshift boat, but it could not move due to creepers and iron rods protruding from submerged pillars. Cranes, ladders and searchlights were tried. Time slipped away.

The accident took place around 11.45 pm on Saturday near Jindal Aluminium in Anchepalya on Tumakuru Road, when a car carrying the five youths collided head-on with a KSRTC bus.

Car Jumps Divider, Crashes into Bus

According to police, the Tata Indica car was travelling from Nelamangala towards Bengaluru when it entered a flyover on the national highway. The vehicle reportedly hit the road divider, jumped into the opposite lane, overturned multiple times and rammed into the KSRTC bus coming from the other direction.
The impact was severe, leaving the car completely mangled. Police suspect overspeeding as the primary cause of the crash.
The deceased have been identified as Danush (17), Keshava (19), Durga Prasad (20), Harshith (20), and Lalith Kumar (23). All were residents of different parts of Doddaballapura in Bengaluru Rural district. Police said Keshava was driving the car at the time of the accident.

‘I Saw the Car Cross the Divider’

Bus driver Kemparaju, who was driving the KSRTC bus, described the terrifying moments of the crash.
“I saw the car cross the divider and crash into our bus. The windscreen shattered, and shards of glass pierced my face. I managed to apply the brakes in time, preventing further damage. There were 43 passengers on board, and a few sustained minor injuries. The impact was loud as the car was travelling at high speed, and the front portion of the bus was damaged,” he said.

The injured bus passengers were treated at a hospital and later discharged.

Youths Gave Different Reasons at Home

An officer said the youths had stepped out late at night after telling their families different things. While one told their parents they were going for a drive, one said he was visiting a temple and would be back shortly.
The car involved in the accident belonged to Lalith, who had recently purchased it as a second-hand vehicle.
The sudden deaths have left families in deep shock.
Harshith was a second-year BCom student at a private college in Rajanukunte, while Lalith worked as a CCTV technician.
“A grown-up son has left us,” said Roopa, Lalith’s mother. “He had breakfast at home and told us he was going to a temple and would return late.”
Danush’s mother, Sunitha, said the family came to know about the accident early on Sunday morning.
“He took me and my younger son to a bakery and bought us snacks. After we returned, he said he would step out for 10 minutes. We didn’t know he had gone out with friends in a car,” she said, adding that she knew only two of the other boys.

"If She Survives, Who Will Marry Her?" Father Of Bride Shot At On Stage

The wedding procession returned home soon after. The groom's family is now refusing to go through with the marriage.

Buxar, Bihar:
In three days, the life of a woman from Bihar changed completely. First, she was a bride-to-be, then a bride, and finally, a victim shot at during her own wedding. Now, as she fights for her life in the hospital, something else is on a ventilator: the marriage that almost happened.

Eighteen-year-old Aarti Kumari, a native of Bihar's Buxar, was on stage with her groom on Tuesday. A girl, likely Aarti's sister, was performing a ritual when a man among the guests gathered in front of the stage shot at Aarti. The bullet hit her in the stomach. Chaos ensued, and Aarti was rushed to a nearby hospital. After providing first aid, doctors referred her to the Varanasi Trauma Centre. The man behind the gun was Deenbandhu, a neighbour and allegedly her former lover.

The wedding procession, which had travelled from UP's Ballia district, returned home soon after. The groom's family is now refusing to go through with the marriage. They stated, "If we had known about any affair or lover, we would never have come here. That bullet could have hit the groom as well."

Meanwhile, Aarti's father, Nand Chaudhary, has distress of his own. "My daughter didn't like him," he said. "That's why he shot her." He is now worried about her future. "Even if my daughter survives, who will marry her?"

This was not the first time the accused tried to sabotage Aarti's wedding. A year ago, when her marriage was first fixed, Deenbandhu threatened the groom's family, who subsequently broke off the engagement. Following that incident, the villagers held a panchayat. Deenbandhu was sent out of the village, but he continued to stalk her.

Deenbandhu is now in police custody. He had previously been jailed in a liquor-related case, according to Additional Station House Officer Chandan Kumar. Police are currently investigating where the accused obtained the weapon and his exact motive.

‘She Slipped, Others Jumped to Save Her’: How Six Children Drowned in Bihar Holi Tragedy

In a tragic incident in Bihar's East Champaran district, six children, including five girls, drowned in a water-filled pit while bathing. The victims, aged between 7 and 12, attempted to rescue one another after one of them slipped.

Champaran News: Six children, including five girls, drowned while taking bath in a water-filled pit in Bihar's East Champaran district, police said on Wednesday. The incident occurred late on Tuesday at Lohargava village under the jurisdiction of Kesariya police station. The deceased have been identified as Diksha Kumari (12), Sonakshi Kumari (9), Priya Kumari (7), Arayadhya Kumari (11), Choti Kumari (8), and Prince Kumar (11).
"According to villagers, when one of the girls entered the pit to take a bath, she slipped and started drowning, and in a bid to save her, the others, too, jumped into the water and drowned," Rahul Kumar, Station House Officer of Kesariya police station, told reporters. "Officials from the district administration reached the spot, recovered the bodies and sent them for post-mortem examination," Kumar added.

In another incident in Bihar, the Bhagalpur Police have registered two major breakthroughs under their special campaign against crime, dealing strong blows to both cyber fraud networks and organised robbery gangs. Acting on the directives of the Senior Superintendent of Police, these coordinated actions have created panic among criminals operating in the district.

The Cyber Police Station cracked down on a cyber fraud gang that was cheating farmers by misusing the name of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana. The gang specifically targeted farmers whose subsidy payments were stuck due to incomplete KYC. Two accused—Rajkumar Das of Habibpur and Deepak Sharma of Radhanagar—were arrested.
Police recovered laptops, mobile phones, six ATM cards, and multiple bank passbooks from their possession. Investigations revealed that the gang opened fake bank accounts and illegally withdrew money meant for farmers. Following a written complaint received on February 27, 2026, Cyber Police Station Case No. 20/2026 was registered.
After technical surveillance and raids, the accused were arrested on March 2, 2026. Police confirmed that two other members of the same gang have already been sent to jail, and further interrogation is underway to expose the full network of fake accounts and accomplices.

'No Cash, Food or Water': Mumbai Man ‘Begs’ for Help After Being Stranded in Moscow Amid Israel-Iran War; Govt Responds

Sunil Gupta, an engineer from Mumbai, found himself stranded at Moscow Airport without cash, food, or assistance from Etihad Airways amid the ongoing US-Israel war with Iran. His post gained attention, prompting responses from the Indian Ministry of Civil Aviation and political leaders, who are working to assist stranded travelers.

As the US and Israel launched coordinated strikes on Iran, flight operations have been affected across the Middle East for four days now. After Iran was attacked, Tehran launched retaliatory strikes across the Gulf region, including the UAE, Saudi Arabia and Kuwait, leading to airspace closure and flight cancellations. A Mumbai-based engineer called the crisis a nightmare after he was stranded at Moscow International Airport, saying that Etihad Airways offered no help or assistance.
Mumbai engineer, Sunil Gupta, took to X and claimed that he was left stranded in Russia with no cash, adding that he does not even have food and water.

"I’m completely stranded at Moscow airport… alone, helpless, and running out of hope...Russia doesn’t accept Visa or Mastercard anymore. I have ZERO cash left. Not even for food or water," he wrote on X.

Making a sarcastic comment, he further wrote, "The Etihad ground staff is avoiding me more than my ex ever did — literally turning their faces away and telling me 'just call customer care'… which has been busy for hours. I’m standing here like a beggar in my own nightmare."

Gupta further asked for help from the Indian embassy or Etihad Airways, "begging" for assistance and to make his post viral. "Please… if anyone from Etihad, MakeMyTrip, or even the Indian embassy sees this — HELP ME. And if you’re reading this, just one RT could save me. I’m begging."

Ministry of Civil Aviation Responds

After his post went viral, the Ministry of Civil Aviation responded to his X post, and asked him to share his PNR number, full name and phone number via direct message for resolving the issue.
"Inconvenience caused is deeply regretted, please share your PNR number, full name and phone number via direct message for resolving the issue," they stated.

Etihad Airways Responds

Etihad Airways also responded to the post and assured him that they are looking into the matter.

Political Leaders React

After his post went viral, AAP Leader Ruben Mascaren has responded and said he had spoken to the Indian Embassy in Russia, assuring him that the embassy will make some arrangements for the stranded passengers.
"Requesting Sanjay Singh and Dr. Sandeep Pathak ji to please take up this issue of Indians stranded abroad due to the US-Iran War," he stated.

Acid Attack, A Married Woman's Multiple Identities, And A Game Of Deception

A woman was also arrested in the case, police said, adding that she has been identified as Jahanvi alias Archana.

Sambhal:
A man has been arrested following an encounter for allegedly throwing acid on a teacher here, police said on Friday.

A woman was also arrested in the case, police said, adding that she has been identified as Jahanvi alias Archana.

According to the police, the accused was identified as Nishu Tiwari (30), a resident of Tigri village in Amroha district.

Superintendent of Police (SP) Krishna Kumar said that on 23 September, in the Nakhasa police station area, a 22-year-old teacher was returning home from school when the accused, riding a scooter, threw acid on her face near Dehpa village.

The teacher suffered 20 to 30 per cent burns in the attack.

Following the incident, the teacher was admitted to the district hospital for treatment. The police acted swiftly to apprehend the accused, the SP stated.

He noted that when the Nakhasa police stopped Nishu late Thursday night near Kalyanpur village, he opened fire at the officers, prompting police to return fire in self-defence, hitting him in both legs.

Nishu was arrested and subsequently taken to the district hospital. The police have also recovered a pistol, two cartridges, and the scooter from his possession.

Speaking to reporters, SP Kumar mentioned that the victim, who suffered severe burns, is currently undergoing treatment and is out of danger.

In his interrogation, Nishu claimed that he was lured into a relationship by a woman he met through social media. This woman, who identified herself as "Dr Archana," informed Nishu that her sister, Jahanvi, had been engaged to a soldier, but he called off the wedding as he already had a fiancee.

She allegedly instigated Nishu to seek revenge against the teacher, who was the soldier's fiancee. Nishu, who previously worked as a chemist, bought acid and carried out the attack.

Further investigations revealed that Jahanvi and Dr Archana are the same person, who created multiple online identities to manipulate Nishu.

The woman is allegedly married with three children, the police said, adding that she had previously fled with Nishu after giving her husband sleeping pills.

To make her deception easier, she even had a mole on her face removed.

Meanwhile, both Nishu and Jahanvi have been placed in judicial custody, the SP added.

‘Stabbed, Suffocated with Plastic’: Bengaluru Love Triangle, Sham Marriage Behind Man’s Death

A man was suffocated to death in Bengaluru’s Manjunath Nagar. Police arrested three suspects, including a woman roommate, after probing a love triangle and frequent disputes that allegedly triggered murder.

A man was brutally murdered in Bengaluru after being suffocated with a plastic item, police said on Monday (March 2). The incident took place in the Manjunath Nagar area under the limits of Bagalagunte police station and has shocked local residents. Police have arrested three people, including a woman, in connection with the murder. According to investigators, the woman was living in a rented house with the deceased after both separated from their spouses. She was also in a relationship with another man, which the victim strongly opposed. Frequent arguments over this issue allegedly led to the crime.
Officials have identified the deceased as Mohan Rao, who was in his 40s. He was engaged in pigmy collection, financing two-wheelers, and some small-scale business activities, they said.

What The Police Said

Deputy Commissioner of Police (Northwest) Nagesh D L stated that they reached the incident site soon after receiving information regarding a man's dead body. He said, "When we visited the spot and conducted an inspection, it was found that someone had murdered him (Rao) and left the body there. In this connection, a murder case was registered, and an investigation was taken up."

Following the investigation, the police zeroed in on three people - a woman identified as Bindu, and her associates Vinay and Dhanush Gowda. "Accordingly, all three have been arrested and taken into custody. Further investigation is under way," he said.

Fake Couple Lie

Police said the preliminary investigation revealed that though Bindu and Rao were not a couple, they convinced the rented house's owner that they were married to each other. "Rao had left his wife and had been living alone for a long time. At the same time, the woman (Bindu) had also been married earlier and was living separately from her husband. So both of them came together and took a house for rent," he said.

They had been living in the rented house for the past three months.

Love Angle with One of the Accused

While sharing the apartment with Rao, Bindu had developed feelings for Vinay who had also planned a marriage with her. However, Rao had objected to Bindu's relationship with Vinay and asked Bindu to stay with him only. Police suspect that this could be a reason behind the mysterious death of Rao.
An officer said Vinay, Bindu, and Dhanush allegedly conspired to eliminate the deceased.

"It is learnt that they (accused) made him consume alcohol at night, then stabbed him with a knife and also suffocated him by covering his mouth and nose with plastic, thereby committing the murder," DCP Nagesh said in a video statement.
Bindu claims that she has completed LLB, but that needs to be verified. She also claims to have acted in some short videos or movies, but police said they do not have proper information yet.
Responding to questions, the DCP said Vinay is a lorry driver who became acquainted with Bindu, and the two decided to get married. Since Rao was allegedly obstructing their marriage, he was murdered for that reason.
Gowda, described as a friend known to Bindu, was also involved in the crime. He was reportedly working at a restaurant, he said.
Police said Bindu had called Gowda over the phone seeking help, following which he joined the other two in committing the crime. Further investigation is underway.

Video: Father Confronts And Beats Student For Harassing Daughter At Pune College

A father in Pune took the law into his own hands by thrashing a College student who had allegedly been harassing his daughter online for 15 days.

A father's outburst at a prestigious educational hub in Pune has sparked intense debate over safety and "vigilante justice" after he physically intercepted a student who had allegedly been harassing his daughter for over a fortnight.

The incident took place near the MIT ADT University campus in Loni Kalbhor. The city, often referred to as the 'Oxford of the East,' was left stunned as a video of the confrontation went viral across social media platforms.

Two Weeks of Harassment

According to preliminary reports, the victim-a student at MIT-had been subjected to relentless online harassment and stalking for 15 days. The accused, identified as a student from D Y Patil College, reportedly targeted the young woman through various digital platforms, causing her significant mental distress. After enduring the ordeal in silence, the victim eventually confided in her father.

The Campus Confrontation

Driven by a mix of concern and frustration, the father accompanied his daughter to the campus vicinity to identify the individual responsible. When the accused appeared and allegedly continued his provocative behaviour, the father initially attempted to reason with him.

Witnesses claim that the student responded with arrogance rather than remorse. At this point, the father lost his composure, tackling the youth to the ground and beating him in full view of the public.

While some social media users have voiced support for the father's protective instincts, others have raised concerns about the lack of formal intervention by college security or local police before the situation escalated to violence. Local authorities are currently looking into the matter, though no formal statement has been released regarding charges against either party.

Nagpur Woman's Violent Rage: Flings Scalding Hot Water On 4-Year-Old For Splashing Her With Holi Colours - DISTURBING VIDEO

A four-year-old boy suffered severe burns after a 60-year-old woman threw boiling water on him during Holi celebrations in Nagpur's Koradi area.

A four-year-old boy suffered severe burn injuries after a 60-year-old woman threw boiling water at him for spraying her with Holi colours. The incident happened in Nagpur's Koradi area, where the boy was playing with colours near a Holika Dahan bonfire. As per reports, the boy, identified as Om Vange, sprayed coloured water on Sindhu Thakre, who is a relative of the boy and lives in the neighbourhood. In a fit of anger, the woman grabbed a bucket of steaming hot water and flung it at the boy.
The boy was taken to a nearby private hospital where doctors said he had suffered around 18-20% burn injuries and was battling the effects of the attack. The child lives in Koradi with his maternal uncle and grandmother and attends school there, while his parents work in Chankapur in Khaparkheda.

The police has launched a legal action against the accused. A TOI report quoted Zonal DCP Sandeep Pakhale as saying that the attack appeared to be a rash reaction to the child's actions rather than a pre-meditated attack. "It seems to be a case of sudden provocation - the boy splashed coloured water on her, and she reacted in anger. Not premeditated, but still reckless. There is no leniency for endangering a child," he said.

Officials from the district child protection unit also visited the spot after the incident. District Child Protection Officer Mustak Pathan called for strict legal action. "Police should make a tight case against the perpetrator. This isn't a mere injury - it's grievous. We'll push for maximum charges so no one takes festivals as an excuse for violent behaviour," Pathan said.

Koradi police have registered a case under Section 117 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) for intentionally causing grievous hurt, an offence punishable with imprisonment of up to seven years along with a fine.
However, the woman has not been taken into custody yet. A senior police official said that considering the age of the woman, the police was yet to arrest her.

Bengaluru Man Slits Throat of Mother, Father and Sister - How A Ringing Phone Cracked the Triple Murder Case

Bengaluru police apprehended 27-year-old Akshay BJ for the brutal murder of his mother, father, and sister, which he initially reported as a missing persons case.

Bengaluru: Bengaluru police arrested a 27-year-old man, who killed his mother, father and sister and then mislead police by filing with 'missing person' complaint. According to reports, Akshay BJ, filed a complaint weeks ago saying his father, Bheemaraj H, his mother Jayalakshmi and his sister Amrita had gone missing. He stayed in regular touch with police, pressing them to find his family. But what seemed like a straightforward missing person case turned out to be planned brutal murder by the very man who had reported them missing.

A Phone Call That Changed Everything

The case broke open when a police constable randomly dialled Amrita's number — one of the phones that had been switched off since she went missing. The phone rang. It rang from inside Akshay's trouser pocket.
"Sir, I gave the ring to his sister's mobile, and it's ringing now," the constable told the officer.
Police thoroughly searched Akshay and discovered three SIM cards on him, belonging to his father, mother and sister.
Officers had already been suspicious. Akshay's statements kept changing and he contradicted himself multiple times during questioning.

Joint Commissioner of Police-East Ramesh Banoth said, "Tilaknagar police sensed something was off from the beginning. Akshay made contradictory statements and tried to mislead us on several points. We had been dialing the family's numbers randomly, all switched off. But on January 30, while Akshay stepped out for tea, he switched on his sister's phone to create the illusion they were in Bengaluru."

What Had Actually Happened
On January 26, Akshay murdered all three family members at their home in Kotturu, Vijayanagar. He killed his mother first in the afternoon. He killed his sister in the evening. Late that night, he killed his father. He used an axe, slitting their throats. He covered the three bodies with a bedsheet and slept in the same house.

The next morning, he boarded a KSRTC bus to Bengaluru, leaving his own phone at home and carrying his family's three phones with him.

In Bengaluru, he clicked photographs near Jayadeva Hospital and sent them to his own number — to create the impression that his family had travelled to the city for his father's medical checkup.
He then returned to Kotturu, dug a 10-foot-deep pit inside the house using a drilling machine and buried all three bodies. He kept the television running at high volume to mask the sound of digging.

On January 29, he came back to Bengaluru, met his uncle Vasanth, and walked into Tilaknagar police station to file the missing person complaint.

The Arrests

Police arrested Akshay and his uncle Vasanth, who allegedly helped him plan the destruction of evidence.
Deputy Commissioner of Police-South East Mohammad Sujeetha said, "We arrested two accused: Akshay and his uncle Vasanth. Though Akshay claimed personal reasons, we are investigating all possible motives."
Vijayanagar police recovered the three bodies from the pit. The operation was recorded on video. Akshay has been sent to 10-day police custody. His uncle Vasanth has been sent to judicial custody.

Senior citizens present there questioned him about bringing the dog close to the walking zone and allowing it to urinate nearby, which allegedly led to a heated argument with both Arora and the senior citizens assaulting each other.
Both sides have filed complaints against each other at Varthur Police Statio

According to the FIR filed by Arora, senior citizens present at the spot questioned him about bringing his dog close to their walking zone and allowing it to urinate nearby, which led to a heated argument. When he attempted to record the incident on his mobile phone, Om Prakash Bajpai, about 81 years old and a resident of Eden in Yediyurappa, allegedly snatched the phone from his hand," the FIR states.

"Immediately after this, around five to six people suddenly attacked the complainant as a group. They allegedly pushed him to the ground and assaulted him, hitting him with their hands and legs, causing injuries," it further states.

The senior citizens, however, tell a different story. According to their FIR, Arora had been repeatedly warned in the past not to bring his dog near their yoga and walking area, as the apartment association had already allotted a separate park for pets.

"When the residents tried to stop him and told him not to take photos of them, his mobile phone reportedly fell to the ground. This made him angry, and he allegedly caught hold of the leg of Om Prakash Bajpai, aged 69, and attempted to attack him," the FIR states.Further investigation is underway.

New Delhi: What began as a simple splash of water during Holi celebrations turned fatal in Delhi's Uttam Nagar, where a 26-year-old man was beaten to death by a mob after a water balloon accidentally splashed on a woman from a neighbouring family.

Tarun, a digital marketing student who lived with his family in Uttam Nagar, was returning home on his bike after celebrating Holi with a friend when a group of 15 to 20 people allegedly stopped him and attacked him with iron rods, bricks, stones and other objects. He was rushed to hospital but did not survive.

He added that the matter had initially been resolved, but about an hour later the group returned and targeted Tarun. DCP Dwarka Kushal Pal Singh confirmed that the two groups, both originally from Rajasthan, belonged to different communities. Eight people in total were injured, three from one side and five from the other.

"We registered a case and arrested four adults and apprehended one juvenile. One of the injured, Tarun Kumar, died during treatment. So, we added Sec 103 to the FIR and added murder charges," the DCP said.

According to Tarun's grandfather, Maan Singh, the woman allegedly began hurling abuses and picked a fight over the incident. He claimed that although the matter appeared to have subsided, members of the other family later gathered and allegedly assaulted Tarun when he was returning home after celebrating Holi.

He also created a WhatsApp group in which he posted updates about the supposed disappearance so that others would trust him. During questioning, Akshat broke down and confessed to the murder.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (Central) Vikrant Vir said police had been investigating the missing-person case when the son was extensively questioned. He admitted that a dispute had arisen with his father and that he had shot him.

Senior police officials and a forensic team inspected the crime scene in detail and collected evidence. The body has been sent for post-mortem examination. The accused remains in police custody. A case will be registered under the relevant sections of the law and further legal action will be taken, police said.

Akshat was uninterested in studies and had resisted his father's wish that he become a doctor. Sources said this academic pressure had created a long-standing, volatile relationship between them. The businessman had wanted his son to continue the family business, but Akshat had problems with it and wanted his father to pursue something else.

Neighbours told police that Akshat used to play the role of Ravana during Ramlila performances and showed a particular interest in villainous roles. He was also fond of watching crime thriller web series.

Four years ago, Akshat had run away from home after leaving a six-page letter. In the letter, he said he would not pursue medical studies.

Further investigation into the case is underway.

Karnataka Woman, Lover Kills Husband In Sleep, Stages It As a Heart Attack

A Karnataka man initially believed to have died of a heart attack was allegedly smothered with a pillow by his wife and her lover, a crime uncovered after his body was exhumed nearly a month later.

The deceased, Paramesh, a daily wage labourer, died on January 29, and his wife, P Asha, told relatives he had suffered a heart attack, after which the family conducted his last rites the next day. Neelima, Hardik's mother, found her daughter, Himashikha, in a pool of blood. When she let out a scream, Hardik attacked her too.

Hardik and Himashikha, both 25, had been living and working as engineers in Gurugram for some time. Himashikha was also pursuing an MBA on the side. The dispute started on Holi after coloured water from a balloon accidentally splashed on a woman from another family.

New Delhi:
Tensions gripped Delhi's Uttam Nagar area after the death of a 26-year-old youth following a dispute that began during Holi celebrations. The incident triggered large-scale protests, with hundreds of people gathering outside the Uttam Nagar Police Station demanding justice.

According to police, the dispute started on Holi after coloured water from a balloon accidentally splashed on a woman from another family. The balloon had reportedly been thrown by an 11-year-old girl who was playing Holi on the terrace with relatives. The balloon burst on the road, and coloured water splashed on the woman, which led to an argument between members of the two families.

The argument soon escalated into a violent clash. The injured youth, identified as Tarun, was allegedly attacked by a group when he was returning home after playing Holi with friends. He was seriously injured in the assault and later died during treatment in the hospital on March 5.

Family members of the victim alleged that the attackers brutally beat Tarun and even threw a large stone on his chest while he was lying on the road

Following the youth's death, anger spread among residents and members of Hindu organisations.

Police said around 500 protesters were present at the spot, while 200-300 police personnel were deployed to maintain law and order. Security has been tightened in the area, and police have restricted entry into the inner lanes to prevent any untoward incident.

Man Shoots Deputy Forest Ranger, Woman, Then Hangs Himself In Madhya Pradesh's Raisen

The accused, identified as Puran alias Gudda Lodhi, had reportedly been dismissed from the nursery several years ago.

Bhopal:
Panic swept through the Forest Department's Amravad Nursery in Madhya Pradesh's Raisen on Tuesday afternoon when a former employee allegedly opened fire, shooting the deputy ranger and a woman worker before fleeing into the forest only to be found hanging from a tree shortly afterwards.

The accused, identified as Puran alias Gudda Lodhi, had reportedly been dismissed from the nursery several years ago.

The incident unfolded around 1:15 PM in Vankhedi village, nearly 13 kilometres from Raisen headquarters. According to Additional Superintendent of Police Kamlesh Kumar Kharpuse, "Around 1:15 PM, he previously worked at the Amrabat nursery. He was fired 3-4 years ago. He came to the nursery and fired his gun after an altercation. Firing caused panic and commotion. A woman was also shot and is being treated here."

Eyewitnesses say Puran first approached Deputy Ranger Rakesh Sharma respectfully, even touching his feet before expressing displeasure and suddenly pulling out a country-made pistol.

He then fired five rounds in quick succession.

Deputy Ranger Rakesh Sharma was shot in the back. He was rushed to Raisen District Hospital and later referred to Bhopal due to the severity of his injuries. Sharma, speaking from the hospital, said, "He shot me in the back. There was no issue as such. He used to work here 3-4 years ago and would come asking for work. He was a troublesome person, so he was not given work."

A female nursery worker, identified as Suman Bai, was also shot in the back. The bullet reportedly passed through her body. She remains in serious condition and has been referred to Bhopal for advanced treatment.

Another employee, Dalchand, narrowly escaped death. "We had just finished eating and were back at work. Our boss was leaving when he came from behind and shot him. He pointed the gun at me, too. I ran and fell," Dalchand said.

He stated that when he fell while fleeing, the bullet passed over him. In the chaos, he threw a stone at the attacker, prompting him to run toward the forest.

After the firing, Puran fled the nursery premises. A short while later, his body was found hanging from a tree not far from the crime scene.

Police suspect suicide, though the matter remains under investigation.

The police team reached the scene immediately after the incident and began collecting evidence. The country-made pistol used in the attack has been seized.

Sources say Puran had worked at the nursery as a labourer about three to five years ago, but was dismissed for negligence and misconduct. Since then, he reportedly harboured resentment.

Preliminary investigation suggests a possible personal grudge, though police are questioning locals to determine the exact motive.

In a troubling twist, when Deputy Ranger Sharma was referred to Bhopal, officials reportedly found no government ambulance available at the district hospital. He was ultimately transported in a private ambulance.

Mumbai:
Devanandan Prasad Singh, in his mid-50s, had shifted from his longtime home Bihar to Mumbai in 2019 along with his family - wife, and two children. A marine engineer, he sailed the oceans with a small crew in cargo ships, taking care of them.

Two days ago, an underwater drone had struck an oil tanker near Iraq. The authorities had confirmed an Indian sailor had died in the explosion whose visuals showed a massive ball of fire piercing the black night.

That sailor was Devanandan Prasad Singh, a resident of Mumbai's Kandivali East, officials said today. Singh served as the additional chief engineer (superintendent) on the US-owned crude oil tanker.

Amid the US-Iran war in the Middle East, the Islamic nation had claimed a coordinated underwater drone strike on two vessels in the Persian Gulf, one of which was the crude oil tanker Safesea Vishnu in which Singh served as an engineer.

Singh received critical injuries following the drone attack on the tanker, officials said. He died during treatment, they said. Fifteen other Indians were rescued from the burning vessel.

His wife and two children are devastated.

On getting information about the matter, maritime agencies and authorities began formal processes to investigate the circumstances surrounding the attack on the oil tanker.

The shipping firm's management and stakeholders have expressed condolences over Singh's death. The company said it will give every possible help and support to Singh's family.

The remaining crew members are safe and in good care, it added. The Indian Embassy in Baghdad had confirmed the casualty on the day of the attack.

Iran had previously warned it would target ships attempting to pass through the Strait of Hormuz, the chokepoint through which roughly 20 per cent of global oil supply moves. The US-Israeli military campaign against Iran and the Islamic nation's counterattacks have not slowed down.

According to the Miami-Dade Sheriff's Office, Gupta, 37, told investigators her daughter, Aria Talathi, got out of the temporary rental home and fell into the pool in the middle of the night. The paediatrician and her daughter were visiting Miami in Florida from Oklahoma when the incident took place.

The Call

"She was in the pool, I tried to save her, but I don't know how to swim," she is heard saying in the 911 recording released by authorities. "I tried to get her out."

"We were sleeping, and I heard some noise. She was in the pool, and I tried to save her, but I don't know how to swim. She went down in the pool," she told the dispatcher.

When asked if anyone else was there to get the girl out, Gupta said, "No, it's just both of us here...It's just me...I tried my best to get her out."

The dispatcher then asked her if the girl was awake, Gupta said, "No, she's at the bottom of the pool...She's not moving."

Gupta was then asked to try to pull her daughter out of the pool. But she asked the dispatcher when paramedics would reach their location.

"They're on the way, but you need to try to help her, find any way you can to try to get her out," the dispatcher is heard telling her.

The dispatcher then asked her about the dimensions of the pool and if the girl was on the shallow or the deep end. ""I think it's nine feet, I don't know how deep," Gupta said.

"Ok, you need to try to get her out, ma'am," the dispatcher said again.

"Yeah, I'm trying," Gupta responds.

Moments later, when police officers arrived, Gupta went to open the door for them. The officers were then heard getting her daughter out of the water.

The Case

Gupta told paramedics she had no idea how long the child was in the pool, estimating maybe 20 minutes.

But during the autopsy, no water was found in the girl's lungs or stomach, and it was determined she was dead before she was placed in the pool. Investigators believe she was smothered to death. Gupta was later arrested and remained in jail with no bond.

Gupta and her lawyers maintain that Aria's death was an accident. She is due back in court in May.

At the time of the incident, Aria Talathi's father had been seeking full custody, raising concerns about Gupta's mental state. He told police he had no idea his daughter was taken to Florida.

When you reproduce like rats, life will obviously be devalued and that is the situation in India. Having been there a few times, i can tell you that they really do not care about each other and if push comes to shove they will start eating each other, that's how bad it is there. Do not be fooled by their economic numbers, thats because of the sheer size of their country in totality. But whenever things go bad, hell breaks loose there.

From ‘Accidental Fall’ to Murder Case: Bengaluru Police Arrest Nephew for Killing Uncle Over Property Row

A 52-year-old polio survivor, Inayathulla Pasha, was allegedly murdered by his 23-year-old nephew, Masrur Ahmed, following a dispute over living arrangements. The incident occurred on March 1 after Pasha returned home intoxicated.

Bengaluru News: In a shocking incident, a 52-year-old polio survivor in Austin Town allegedly killed by his own nephew, who initially tried to pass off the death as an accident. The accused, 23-year-old Masrur Ahmed, reportedly attacked the victim, Inayathulla Pasha, after a heated argument at Pasha’s house on the evening of March 1. Pasha ran a two-wheeler repair garage near Shoolay Circle. For the past 11 years, he had been living in a house owned by his elder sister, Usna Banu, under a lease arrangement. Pasha had been divorced for about 14 years and had no children.

According to police, Pasha had been in a long-running dispute with Banu over the house. He had reportedly paid a lease amount of Rs 3 lakh, but Banu allegedly refused to return the money and was pressuring him to vacate the house. This issue often led to arguments between Pasha, Banu and her son, Masrur Ahmed. On the evening of March 1, Pasha returned home after drinking alcohol. Police said Ahmed again asked him to vacate the house, which led to another argument. The verbal fight soon turned violent.

Investigators said Ahmed allegedly assaulted Pasha inside the house. During the attack, Pasha suffered serious injuries and died.
After the incident, Ahmed allegedly tried to hide the crime. Police said he placed Pasha’s body on the bed and told relatives and neighbours that Pasha had died after accidentally falling while drunk. Banu and Ahmed reportedly repeated the same story to friends and family members.

However, suspicion grew the next day when preparations for Pasha’s funeral began. Some of his friends felt something was wrong and approached the Viveknagar police, raising doubts about the cause of death.
When police arrived at the house, they noticed visible injuries on Pasha’s body. Residents and relatives also told officers that although Pasha’s body was lying on the bed, there were bloodstains near the door, which raised further suspicion.
Based on a complaint filed by Pasha’s stepson, Syed Mohammed Ali, police registered an unnatural death case and sent the body for a post-mortem examination. Ali told police that Pasha had survived polio in childhood and his left leg was affected.
Doctors later informed the police that Pasha had died due to assault. The post-mortem report revealed that he had multiple broken ribs, indicating a violent attack.

Following this, police asked Pasha’s relative, Attaullah Sharif, to file a formal murder complaint.
Inspector Veeresh R and his team then detained Masrur Ahmed for questioning. During interrogation, Ahmed allegedly confessed to the crime. He told police that he lost his temper after Pasha abused his mother during the argument.
Ahmed admitted that he assaulted Pasha with his hands, pushed him to the floor and repeatedly kicked him in the chest and abdomen.

Police said Ahmed later tried to cover up the crime by cleaning the bloodstains from the floor and leaving the house after placing Pasha’s body on the bed.
Ahmed was arrested on Tuesday and has now been remanded to judicial custody.

Police recovered laptops, mobile phones, six ATM cards, and multiple bank passbooks from their possession. Investigations revealed that the gang opened fake bank accounts and illegally withdrew money meant for farmers. Woman, Lover Strangle Husband In Sleep In UP, Try To Frame His Family

Haseena initially informed police that Zakir's uncle, and his relatives murdered her husband over a dispute regarding the division of ancestral land

A woman and her lover were arrested in the Bahraich district for allegedly murdering her husband, who had opposed the relationship, police said on Sunday.

The deceased, identified as Zakir Ali (35), was a resident of Alinagar Kala village and had been married to Haseena Begum (30) for 10 years. The couple's family includes six children, officials said.

According to the police, Zakir's body was found on Saturday morning under a tin shed in the verandah of their house.

Haseena initially informed the Khairighat police on Saturday that Zakir's uncle, Asif Ali, and his relatives, Rozan and Nafees, murdered her husband over a dispute regarding the division of ancestral land. However, as police registered a case and began investigating the complaint, a different story emerged, sources said.

Investigation teams, utilising evidence and information from informants, learned that Haseena was having an affair with Abdul Salam (20), alias Piddi, and that the two conspired to commit the murder, Additional Superintendent of Police (Rural), Durga Prasad Tiwari said.

The Additional SP further informed that Haseena and Salam were arrested on Sunday and interrogated, after which they confessed to their crime.

Their confession revealed that they had been involved in a relationship for nearly two years and that Zakir was an obstacle to their plans. Consequently, they devised a plan to kill him and frame his relatives for the murder, the officer added.

Revealing the details of their plan, the officer said that on the night of October 24, once Zakir fell asleep, Haseena called Salam to her house.

Together, they strangled Zakir with a dupatta while he was sleeping, after which they took him out on the verandah and slit his throat with a knife. Following the next step of the plan, Haseena filed a case against Asif Ali and his relatives with a written complaint, Tiwari said.

Based on the confessions of the accused, police have recovered the murder weapon - a knife - as well as the dupatta, blood-stained clothing of the accused, and their mobile phones.

Superintendent of Police Ram Nayan Singh announced a cash reward of Rs 20,000 for the police team that uncovered the incident.

Man Kills Wife, 3 Daughters After Loan Caller Threatens To "Make Them Work" In Delhi

After a relentless 72-hour pursuit across several states, the Delhi Police Outer North District traced and arrested the woman's husband, who had fled after the crime.

New Delhi:
Driven by debt and repeated gambling losses, a vegetable seller allegedly killed his wife and their three daughters, slitting their throats in their one-room home before leaving the city.

After a relentless 72-hour pursuit across several states, the Delhi Police Outer North District traced and arrested the woman's husband, who had fled after the crime.

On the morning of February 25, a PCR call alerted police to a disturbing situation inside a one-room house in North-West Delhi. When officers reached the location, they found Anita (30) and her daughters, aged 3, 4 and 5, lying dead. All four had suffered fatal injuries caused by a sharp-edged weapon.

The husband, Munchun Kewat (42), who worked as a vegetable seller at Azadpur Mandi, was missing. His disappearance immediately made him the prime suspect, and a case was registered.

Recognising the gravity of the crime, police formed a special joint task force. The investigation involved a massive technical effort, including scanning over 800 CCTV cameras and using Facial Recognition System (FRS) technology. Police teams were sent to Bihar, Tamil Nadu and Rajasthan at the same time.

By following his movements through Delhi's transport hubs, investigators traced the suspect's escape route to areas near Ajmer. After continuous tracking, the accused was found and arrested in Kishangarh, Rajasthan.

The arrested man, identified as Munchun Kewat alias Ashish, confessed during interrogation. He told police that he and his family were struggling financially due to a "huge loan," which often led to arguments at home. He said that in the early hours of February 25, after another quarrel, he waited until his wife and children were asleep and then killed all four of them.

According to the accused's statement, the sequence began on February 23, when a man named Mithilesh called him demanding money. They argued and exchanged abuses. Mithilesh allegedly told him that he would keep Kewat's wife with him and make her and the children work. Angered by this, Kewat blocked him and decided to kill his wife. Around 1:00 PM, he bought a jackfruit-cutting knife for Rs 90 and hid it under a bag in the house. He planned to kill her that night but did not go through with it.

On February 24, his wife told him that Mithilesh had called again. Around 11:30 PM, they argued, and she went to sleep with their children. He stayed awake through the night.

In the early hours of February 25, at about 4:00 AM, he picked up the knife and slit his wife's throat. His eldest daughter woke up and began crying, so he killed her too. He then killed his other two daughters. He reportedly thought of killing himself but could not.

After committing the murders, he fled to Ajmer. Before escaping further, he returned briefly to the vegetable market and looked for a contractor named Suresh but could not find him and did not have his phone number. He learned that work would restart only after Holi. In the meantime, he slept in the market area and survived on roadside food before leaving again.

The accused, Munchun Kewat, is a resident of Patna, Bihar. He had earlier been involved in a theft and stolen property case in 2025.

He has a history of gambling, both online and offline. He used to bet on cricket matches and play teen patti. In recent months, he took Rs 2 lakh from his in-laws. Out of this amount, he paid Rs 60,000 to Mithilesh, Rs 40,000 to a current ginger seller, and lost the remaining Rs 1 lakh in gambling again.

The accused is now in police custody. Investigators are working to recover the weapon used in the murders and to further verify the reasons behind the act.

3 Of Family Die By Suicide, 3-Page Note Reveals Credit Card Fraud

Vaibhav Rungta was arrested after a three-page suicide note revealed credit card fraud and relentless mental torture.

Surat:
Days after a mass suicide shocked Surat, the man accused of pushing the Khetan family to the brink has been caught in Delhi. Vaibhav Rungta was arrested after a three-page suicide note and testimony from a seven-year-old survivor, who was reportedly spoon-fed poison, revealed credit card fraud and relentless mental torture.

While the Vesu police team caught him following technical surveillance, a local Delhi court refused transit remand, ordering the accused to appear in person before the Surat court instead.

The investigation into the death of Balmukund Khetan and his family uncovered a trail of financial abuse. A three-page suicide note written in Hindi details how Rungta allegedly misused Khetan's credit cards. When Khetan, a stock market professional originally from Bihar, demanded his money back, he was met with verbal abuse and death threats. The family was allegedly pushed to the brink by this constant mental and financial pressure.

The family's youngest daughter, 7-year-old Prithvi, who was the sole survivor, has also revealed some details about the case. While undergoing treatment, she told relatives that she had been "spoon-fed" something by her parents. This led investigators to believe that the children were poisoned first before the couple consumed the substance themselves. Police will record Prithvi's official statement once doctors confirm she has fully recovered.

The family consumed aluminium phosphide, a highly toxic substance. On the day of the incident, Balmukund's wife, Priyanka, called her father to tell him they had consumed poison. Although an ambulance rushed them to the hospital, it was too late for most of the family. Balmukund was declared dead at the scene, while Priyanka and their elder daughter, Bhavya, died during treatment.

Surat Police are now conducting a thorough interrogation of Rungta. They are also investigating whether other moneylenders or accomplices were involved in the harassment. The victim's bank accounts and credit card transactions are currently being audited as evidence.

Telangana Student, 16, Gives Birth In Toilet Hours After Appearing For Exam

She appeared for her exam and later complained of severe stomach pain. While waiting for her turn at the scanning centre, the girl went to the washroom, where she suddenly went into labour.

Hyderabad:
A 16-year-old student in Telangana's Nagarkurnool has given birth to a baby hours after appearing for her examination. The girl is a first-year intermediate student at a residential girls' school, the police said.

On Monday, she appeared for her exam and later complained of severe stomach pain. Her mother then took her to a private hospital in the town, and doctors advised a scan and asked them to visit a nearby diagnostic centre.

While waiting for her turn at the scanning centre, the girl went to the washroom, where she suddenly went into labour and delivered a baby.

Staff members later noticed the newborn inside the washroom and immediately alerted the police.

Police rushed to the spot and shifted the girl and the newborn to a government hospital for treatment.

Doctors said that both the mother and the baby are currently safe and under medical care.

Initial reports said the girl and her mother had allegedly placed the newborn in a dustbin inside the washroom before the staff noticed it.

Since the girl is a minor, police have begun an investigation to find out how she became pregnant. Officials are also examining whether a case should be registered under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act.

Last month, a Class 10 girl delivered a baby during her board examination at an exam centre in Madhya Pradesh's Dhar. The police said the 17-year-old student complained of a severe stomachache two hours into the examination and sought permission to visit the washroom.

When she did not return to the classroom for a long time, the invigilators checked the washroom and, to their dismay, heard the cries of a baby, the police said.

Female staffers of the school rushed to the scene, and the girl and the infant were brought to a government community health centre in an ambulance.

A preliminary probe revealed that the girl had been 34 weeks (eight months) pregnant, and the infant was premature, an official said.

The teen told the police that she met a boy while participating in a dance programme, and he had sexually assaulted her, which resulted in the pregnancy. She alleged that the boy had threatened her into silence. The police said a probe is underway.

Boyfriend 'Tried To Summon MBA Student's Spirit' After Killing Her In Indore

CCTV cameras installed near the house captured Dhamnotiya, arriving with the student on February 10. Roughly two and a half hours later, the same cameras recorded him leaving alone, carrying a bag.

He lit incense sticks in a secluded corner of Panvel near Mumbai. He watched YouTube videos on "how to summon spirits." He whispered apologies into the darkness, claiming he wanted to speak to the 'aatma' (spirit) of the woman he had murdered hours earlier.

This is not fiction. According to police, this was the conduct of Piyush Dhamnotiya, the accused in the brutal killing of an MBA student in Indore's Dwarkapuri area. Now on a three-day police remand, the details emerging from interrogation have sent shockwaves across the city.

CCTV cameras installed near the house captured Dhamnotiya, arriving with the student on February 10. Roughly two and a half hours later, the same cameras recorded him leaving alone, carrying a bag.

Investigators say what happened inside that room was calculated.

According to police sources, Dhamnotiya pressured the student for sex. She refused, stating she was unwell. He allegedly forced himself on her. After the assault, he tied her hands and feet with ropes found in the apartment and blindfolded her, claiming he wanted to give her a "gift."

When she resisted again, he stuffed cloth into her mouth and sat on her chest, choking her until she lost consciousness. Realising she had stopped breathing, he allegedly stabbed her near the chest with such force that the knife broke.

But the brutality did not end with death. Police say he remained inside the room even after killing her. He stepped out, bought beer from a liquor shop, returned, and drank beside her lifeless body. During interrogation, he allegedly admitted to sexually assaulting the corpse before changing his clothes and fleeing, leaving the young woman naked.

Earlier that day, the student had left home saying she needed to correct her Aadhaar card. Her father dropped her near the collectorate. She later called her younger sister, saying she was going to a birthday party with her classmate Piyush Dhamnotiya and would return by 11 pm.

At 11 pm, a chilling message was sent from her phone: "Tell Papa she won't be returning home."

Her phone was switched off soon after. Investigators later discovered that 11 objectionable videos of the two had been shared in a college group. The same clips were uploaded to the woman's WhatsApp status and sent to contacts saved in her phone, alarming relatives.

During interrogation, Dhamnotiya repeatedly changed his version of events.

In one statement, he claimed he wanted to marry her, but she was distancing herself and had not spoken to him for about 15 days. He said he noticed a dating app on her phone and assumed she was communicating with another man. An argument followed, and he allegedly strangled her.

After the murder, Piyush fled to Mumbai, travelling through Panvel and staying in hotels. He reportedly roamed metro stations and broke the student's mobile phone to destroy evidence.

What shocked investigators further was what they found in Maharashtra, signs suggesting he had attempted black magic rituals in an isolated area. Indore DCP Krishnalal Chandni provided a detailed statement on the case "Piyush Dhamanotia, the accused in the Uncle Gali murder, was arrested in Mumbai and is currently in police remand. He had been in a relationship with a woman, but her family wasn't ready for the marriage, which was causing a dispute. He went to her home to resolve the matter, and they had a physical relationship. An argument ensued, leading to the woman's strangulation. That same night, he returned to Panvel in Mumbai, stayed in a hotel, and the next day, he destroyed her mobile phone. We arrested him with the help of the Mumbai Police.

When police arrived in Panvel, they found a place where he had attempted to perform black magic. It appeared he had become mentally disturbed after the incident and was trying to communicate with the woman's spirit. In his statement, the man stated that his girlfriend had been talking with someone else via an app, which led to the incident. The main reasons for this included pressure from marriage, and later issues with the woman because she was also talking to other people, making the accused insecure. After the murder, he consumed alcohol and sat with the corpse for some time. The accused also stated that he had sex in the same apartment. There were several pieces of rope there, which suggested that the woman's hands and feet had been tied."

Forensic teams are now examining digital evidence, CCTV footage, ropes recovered from the apartment, and the broken knife.
