[VIDEO/PICTURES] Mayank Yadav, another speed gun from India a.k.a The New Delhi Express

Ever since Dravid became the coach, Knuckle ballers, tuktukers started returning in the name of experience. I can't wait to see the end of the management. No guarantee who will be. But this one is a highly defensive, conservative management.
Hot take but having Dravid as LOI coach is a bigger circus than everything PCB has done.

BCCI is doing everything to ruin its powerful position in cricket. Kumble, Dravid and now Laxman? These Indian greats have too much power.

great pace, but the modern era has shown that the majority of express bowlers are one season wonders.

This kid is genuinely quick. We're not talking about one effort ball crossing the 150 mark, were talking about 3-4 balls every over.Deserves more hype than Umran.

If we were to see average speed data, i yhink he'll be comfortably the quickest bowler on display this IPL.

Yesterday green was able to negotiate 3 150 plus deliveries and he was almost got out on 3rd delivery trying to hit.He got bowled on 4th delivery with out feet movement for a 146 km delivery. He got stuck/rattled with first 3 deliveries and missed a less speady one.

Always good to see an all-out pacer beating batsmen for pace.

There's nothing more entertaining than this.

New Delhi Ranji team has to have one of the quickest fast bowling attacks going around including international teams.

Mayank
Harshit
Himanshu Chauhan (he's been sensational this Ranji season)
Simarjeet
Ishant

On Mayank, it's a matter of time before batsmen prepare to use his pace against him in T20s. Instead of attempting pull against him, they'd probably train to guide it behind the keeper etc.

He has to be as good as Bumrah to succeed in the brutal short format and that is possible but unlikely. Bumrah is one of a kind.

How he comes along in tests is what would interest a lot more. So far it looks like short of length is his natural length which might need to be worked on in tests.

This young man is a real deal and I'm sure will be an international star in a very short period of time . He is as talented at the start of his career as were all the great fastmen in recent times.

I saw a graphics of avg speed. Mayank was on top with 149. Umran second with 145.

Mayank on Perth/Gabba pitch will be quite fun.Bcci should take care of him proactively.Lsg should not play him once they qualify for playoffs .He should play again in play off's and hopefully in t20wc against good teams only.

You guys really live in a dream world of your own where your personal wants/insecurities supersede everything?

Why wouldn't LSG play him in all matches?

Yes, no chance of him breaking down if he just stays at home.
Don't u know rotational policy implemented from last 24 years.where is archer now ?what happened to ssa, ishanullah, bumrah etc after injuries.

Who cares what happened to them? This is sports, players get injured. Why would Lucknow rest him? They didn't pick him, groom him, laid out all the facilities for last two years for him to rest because you think he should. This is professional sports.

BCCI can let him rest from India matches. He'll get a lot of rest.

This graph illustrates how fast he is. Batsmen are literally camping on the backfoot including Western Australian batsmen.

ANd how did you come up with this assumption? Just because he bowled 150+ so he must be a vegetarian?
Ye le..

"At 15, with that weak physique of his, he could generate above average pace for his age-group. He has had his share of struggles but he always worked hard. He might look lean but he is very strong now with proper nutrition and regimented fitness. He is a pure vegetarian and an ardent devotee of Lord Krishna"

We know about our players in the system. Many Indian fans know about this boy since 2021.. as in 2022 he bowled couple of balls at 155 clicks. Last year he was injured and had to sit out whole season.
But credit to the system in India now, the players don't fall off the radar now. If they are willing to put the hard yards, success is there to achieve.
We all are watching only 24 balls in bowled in IPL. He has been working on this since he was 15 years old.
His coach is the same person who has produced Rishabh Pant and Suresh Raina.

from the same article above..

"He is an exceptional talent and obviously, he is a candidate for exclusive pace bowling contract like Aakash Deep, Umran Malik or Vijaykumar Vyshak. He has to play the full IPL. But he is injury-prone and has to show that he can last a full season including Ranji Trophy.

"For the time being he would be seen as a white ball prospect unless he plays Ranji Trophy. But he needs to play India A and smaller bilateral rubbers first," a senior BCCI source told PTI on the condition of anonymity ..

Good thing that you have found an article about his vegetarian stuff. Thanks but it is not necessary that you have to be vegetarian to bowl quick just like you cannot bowl fast only of you just eat meat. It is all about proper diet and hard work and this guy is doing both.

No one said you have to be vegetarian to bowl quick. There are snide remarks saying Indian bowlers are slower because they dont consume meat. Mayank just busts that argument.

Yah he is injury-prone but I have hopes. His action looks legit.

Express pace excites everyone. Players, coaches , fans etc.

But reality is that express pace alone is only really useful in T20s where batter is under pressure to attack bowlers and express pace can cause batters to lose hitting shape thus having more probability of miscues/holeouts.

In ODIs such expresses will now be milked comfortably for 70-75 runs without risk by using pace and in Tests they will be seen off without fuss.

If a bowler wants a regular intl career he has to get control over execution of atleast one direction movement (either in air or off pitch) at 138-142 kph range to pose regular wkt taking threat. On balance all the 150 and 155 kph balls will only help in setup (i.e. pushing batter into backfoot) and for scaring tailenders

Wow he looks very very quick.

I hope he has a long and fruitful career. Watching cricket is a lot more fun when there is an express bowler operating.

I don't think he is remotely ready for longer version. Dhoni warned of using Pahtirana in ODIs. But Srilanka used him and it impacted his performance as he lacked consistency. At this point he should be treated as a T20 specialist and use him as an X factor.

Yadav is probably going to lose all of his pace either after marriage or after national team selection; it’s a common trend all across the world

148 kph

Well, people making such argument because they don't try to know the facts first. LOL. EAT MEAT AND BOWL FAST? not true,
Shoaib Akhtar in 2022 -
"You become what you eat, right? My nation eats lots of animals and we end up being like animals. When it comes to fast bowlers, we just run in like lions,"

"“There is a difference between Pakistan and India. The Indians are producing good fast bowlers, but what they are lacking is the rare energy - that anger on your face, that attitude that I am going to just kill you,"

Sami was consistently over the 150s and yes, unofficial readings even have him bowling over 160. But I really wonder how much slower he would’ve been when he clocked 164. Pure hypotheses but I doubt that it was 10 KPH faulty. Would’ve been 4-5 KPH less.
I do remember Sami in a Test in NZ bowling a 10 over spell consistantly bowling up to 155kph, and Shoab almost touched 160kph on that same day with reverse swing to Smoke NZ

He looks quick very quick. he doesn't look 21 and his action seems a bit dodgy to the naked eyes. Umran's action is very clean on the other hand.
He has bowled over 150 quite a few times now.
Many Pakistani bowlers have bowled 150 plus and Pakistan bowled the most number of 140 plus balls in 2023 world cup and 2022 world cup as well.

You could have written "Pakistan bowlers are better than Indians " and spared us the big para..

Mayank is no Ihsanullah, Musa Khan or Aimal Khan . He is very much his given age, give or take a few months

The aforementioned guys on the other hand look 6 years overaged.

To be fair, Musa Khan was still very young. Be fair to him, he was not more than a couple of years over his claimed age. I don’t even know who Aimal is.

Ihsanullah is a fraud. He’s easily 28 at least.

Lol hit a nerve there. I wrote the factual statement. Pakistan bowlers were the fastest bowlers in the 2023 and many other tournaments as I saw posts in this thread in which your fellow countrymen were spreading lies.

To polish skills yes. But a 21 year old express fast bowler needs to be handled with a lot of care.
Playing County would be the worst thing for him at this stage. LOL. Wrap this guy in cotton wool. He’s already leagues ahead of County bowlers with his line and length let alone his pace. Natural guy to eventually replace Bumrah.

Lol no he is definitely not 21. He looks older than 25.It seems like he has done ihsanullah there.

Brother, Musa Khan was playing a regional under 19 tournament in Pakistan when he was around 12 years old officially .

Dude. lol In India you cannot do that. If they catch you do that your career is pretty much over. Also you have school record, college record, birth certificate. There is no way you can cheat like you do in Pakistan.

Believe me I know all about Indian system.I can do anything I want here just know the right people and show some green you are good to go for anything.
I m "aware" of the so called system.
I don't know about Pakistan though.

Here come another imran khan " i know india more than Indian people's .hahahha lol

We need to wait for full IPL session to see where is he stands. He only just played two match so far.

Hahahah okay. Answer me one thing.
Which country is the most corrupt country in the world? There lies your answer.
You can do anything you want here just need the right people and obviously the money.

T20 is a thankless format. His speed can be his enemy too. But if you use him in the riight phases he can be mighty effective. So far LSG is doing the right hting. They bring him on after 5 or 6 overs.

All countries are corrupt. What has anything to do wth birth certificate. Just ask for a certificate with different date and see what happens.

You do realise that it is common for 14-15 year olds to be playing local under 19 tournaments at that age? He would be the youngest looking 28 year old if you think he’s a day over 26.

And age rigging is a padosi thing, you celebrate and nurture but there's almost no chance of it happening with the bcci.

Viijay lokapally talked about Mayank a couple of years back. Now he has identified another guy. Akash Kashyap. Let us see how accurate he is with this guy.

Need to get those eyes checked by a doctor near you, another bitter pakistani fan.

Manjot kalra for 2 month violation is permanently outcasted. The actions are stringent here.

I don't care about T20 but can he play test cricket as he only play single FC game .
2-46 in 17.2 overs.
These are Mayank Yadav's figures in his only FC game. He broke down in the 1st innings, and didn't bowl in the 2nd innings.

Steve Smith reveals his plan to tackle India’s sensation Mayank Yadav while speaking on a program on a local Indian sports channel:

"If you look at all those balls, there wasn't one slower ball there, so you don't have to worry about that at this stage. He might have it in his armoury, we haven't seen it yet but you can probably trust to get inside the line or maybe give a bit of room and use the pace and let it come to you."

"The thing that impressed me is that he's played his debut game the other day obviously, There'll be a lot of hype around him and you see a lot of players have that one good game and then just can't back it up."

"I don't think he bowled a slower ball. They should be using the pace as much as he can to score behind the wicket and make him do something different. He's bowling quick and if you get some bat on it particularly in the Chinnaswamy the ball races away. So try and use his pace a little bit more instead of finding it. Teams are finding it at the moment and they are coming well short."
