He is a must in every format, especially while his purple patch lasts. Ideally batting at #5 in tests and opening in the limited overs.
Pakistan needs to get pragmatic and make the most of its resources. The best players should be playing in each format. Every modern international player is good enough to transfer their skills across formats, as long as they are in form.

Im talking of what is achieved by your comparisons so far, not what you think they will achieve... Keep dreaming.. Let me tell you the same thing again.
QDK, BUTTLER, BAIRSTOW all these three have played more than 50 tests so far in their career and still couldnt avg close to 40 to the least. Shows that either they are not good for avg 40+ in tests as they dont meet your expected ceiling or they are happy with what they have done so far...
You can set their ceiling to be way higher but in reality they have not come close to it..

He was undone by a slower ball but may be he should not have gone for a big shot but he played a really vital part in today's win after pathetic collapse by middle order. Utterly shocked to see Asif and Imam playing pathetic shots when things were under control.

Not a correct batting position for Rizwan in ODIs. Ideally, he should open with Haider Ali and Imam should be dropped. Not sure if they have better options though.

His innings today didn't take Pakistan home but it was vital at a time when Pakistan were crumbling under pressure.
He came in steadied the ship and then played some fantastic shots.
I prefer him in the middle order, given that at the moment it looks weak.

He is not comfortable in Limited Overs in the middle-order. He would struggle in T20s as well if he doesn’t open.

He’s like a wk/batsman and not ideal for 4. Just doesn’t feel right. We’re so bad right now he’s one of our best batsman but I’d like to see a specialist batsman take that spot.
I don’t want to burdening him with everything. Its time someone else stepped up and not leave everything for Babar and Rizwan.
The only other option is to open with him and drop Imaam however that is unlikely.
Who should take the number 4 spot Kamran Ghullam ?

Sarfaraz Ahmed. He plays spin well and he is very good at counter attacking.
Nawaz makes the team but he's injured also I think he's done well down the order.
So we don’t have replacement. Thank you all I needed to know. So it makes sense now why you hate rizwan because he kicked the racist barking clown out.
Just for the record Sarfraz averages 24 in England, 16 in SA and 14 in NZ and he is our back up. Why don’t you just admit you don’t like rizwan because he has replaced garbage Sarfraz.

You can’t answer and you run away. No point having a discussion when you just run away. Can you tell me what is mediocre average 14 for a wicket keeper or 40. Average 24 or average 40. Rizwan averages over 45 plus in tests buts let’s drop him for a racist player who was averaging in 20 odd over a long time because he was a specialist captain. Answer the question.

Kamran Ghulam is untested, so doubt he'll be tried there. Pakistan have royally messed up induction of new talent. This is why when expired seniors hang on to their spots like Hafeez and Azhar Ali, Misbah and Younis before them it really hurts the team.
He is untested but thiers not many options.

Rizwan needs stack up the numbers in ODI cricket just as he has done in T20.
With Imam and Babar record currently although Imam plays 80’s cricket he will struggle to get up the order.
He needs to make sure he can accelerate in the middle rather than play a 20 off 30 balls.
