Farhan is averaging 20 in the vastly inferior BPL.

Pakistan fans need to accept that the current crop of players lack talent.

We have a rich pool of young batters coming up in including but not limited to Maaz Sadaqat, Minhas, Imran Naeem. And lets not even talk about the flood of high quality spinners.

In BBL other top opener's dont play for comparison.almost half the ipl coaches are aussies , its difficult for him unless they feel he can prove himself against head, abhishek, buttler, salt etc.

I was surprised Smith did that.

But, I can see why he did it. He was striking very well. His strike-rate was 200+ and Babar's strike-rate was 120. He wanted most of the deliveries I guess.
 
Smith did what was right for his team to win... Nothing wrong here.. He was striking better and he had full authority over the bowlers so he took charge... He did the right thing and it paid off.. His team won.. Babar did anchor on the other end, which was needed as we all saw once they both got out, Sydney's wickets begin to fall quickly...

It's been embarrassing seeing the way Pakistani players have performed in this league.

Sticking to crease is not a role or Batter Speciality in t20 cricket. You make it look like no one else can stay at crease lol any tom dick can score run a ball in t20 coming as opener.

after a big patnership , when match is over , usually few wickets fall , its not like babar was holding one end and he thought no one else down the order is capable enough , thats how he lead Pak team as captain. as a consequence even today Pak is struggling to make decent middle order. Babar thinks he can pollute Australian team with Same approach. Smith Shut him down good

The wickets fell because Smith finished game already. It happens in Cricket. not because Babar was holding one end lol nobody asked him , im sure certainly not asksd by SS team management. its a self assumed anchor role at opening spot

The team reflects in a way the state of a nation as well, especially if the sports is popular enough in a country and played for some time.
That's why our teams find it hard to beat European, western teams, be it hockey, cricket etc.
As the country has been ruined in the last 5 years, so is the team reflecting it as well while before they were mostly ok, with one period around 2000's where they were pretty good as well but never could dominate continuously

He did nt have to play 3 dot balls trying to score a nice fifty. He had 4 balls he could have taken charge but no he did nt. at that point Smith was nt going at 200. It happened when babar failed to keep up

This is where cricket has now changed, you need to go ballistic irrespective of what’s happening at the other end.

It’s an inconsequential T20 league game, if Babar is content on playing second fiddle here aswell, then that speaks volumes about him as a player.

More like Smith worked out that the donkey at the other End isn’t going to do anything so I might as well chance my arm. He started this assault in the 2nd/3rd over and just kept going.

Also Smith probably cautious of losing the opening spot because Babar was the flavour of the month for Sixers before his arrival.

This is the reality of your boy when he doesn’t get that opening spot he cries, screams and dies for.

He’s a failed T20 player who was forced to open so Misbah can keep his job how. He was a failed T20 opener even with a 40+ average and had to be dragged out.

You should have listened 5 years ago when I told you this guy is a scam, but you knew it well and kept at it.

Come on dude, if you favorite cannot even hit out in such domestic leagues against domestic bowlers and goes a run a ball, how will be even put bat to ball in international?

Isn't the whole point of known players playing such leagues to improve their game and practice?
 
Haris Rauf has proven time and time again that he should only be selected for australian and South African bouncy pitches, otherwise the run machine is just a 12th man for the opposition.
overall, nothing will change in Pakistan cricket. Where a duffer like Wahab Riaz is selected for a management position multiple times, only your connections matter. From the grass roots to the highest echleons in Pakistani society, it's the one constant thing
 
This Big Bash league has exposed the reality that Pakistans best players are at best Category C, D players in other countries. The PCB decision to strip Babar, Rizwan and Shaheen of their A category contracts was 100% justified.
