[VIDEOS] Pakistan players in Big Bash League 2025/26: Performance Watch

Babar shouldn't be angry at Smith. This is how a world-class, once-in-a-generation batsman operates. He doesn't get intimidated by a sorry looking Sydney Thunder attack such as this one. Smith is trying to prove a point... that he is still good enough T20 player who should be playing for Australia in the next Olympics. He is not expecting to get back into the Australian T20 team by doing nothing and relying on the failure of other players like Babar

Yep. Doesn’t have a strong PR. Never claims to have been unfairly dropped. Only cares about his team and his legacy.

Game recognizes game.

Babar is scared to take on world Cricket. Smith isn't. Babar was not angry that he was refused single. He was angry because he was refused single and then shown like a tail ender on the other end how to hit sixes.

Agreed, Smith has to prove a point, Babar has to do none.

At no point during his innings did he try to do some thing unorthodox like moving around his crease like Smith...just waiting for the bad balls to come his way...
Only sort of unorthodox shot he played was that sweep shot. But that too was a bad delivery.

Still tells you that fortune favors the brave. In this format you have to take your chances. Some days it pays off, other days it doesn't. But at least you don't waste balls for your team.

not one six shows he is forever afriad to get out. You need to have clear mindset to clear the field for that

I don't want to be seen like someone who bashes Babar willy nilly, hence why I left my office work upstairs to come downstairs and watch him bat...but it's the same ol' same ol' ... A player refusing to adapt to the modern game and playing the same way he has always played...ah well, at least I got to see a Smtih masterclass in how to bat in T20

You know what's sad.

Pakistani fans not getting disappointed over Babar anymore. They are just over it.

Not at one point in the game I had the belief that Babar would take on the bowlers. I used to think like that years ago with Babar, when he was looking to climb up in world Cricket. But not anymore.

And still ends up with a 120 strike rate knock on what was, comfortably, the best wicket in the entire BBL
Probably the flattest normal bounce wicket

From a batting pov, the fast tracks at Perth are a batters dream. You connect there with clarity and the ball flies!

One series doesn’t make him the best, he will soon be exposed too. Get better replacement and drop him but you don't have any. Your team is literally a minnow level.
Yes, 7 years of Babar and being refused a single by Steve Smith hasn’t exposed him 🤡

Same here...I still remember that masterful innings where he chased a tricky low score against the Kiwis in the 2019 World Cup with help form Harris but he has regressed badly, probably due to believing the hype around his name...I can't remember another innings in a knock out match where he has performed since....

that Innings against NZ was useless. Target was chaseable in 40 overs . Kiwis were so un serious , Kane Williamson was bowling at one end. Yet Babar chose personal milestone over team goal. I never rate that innings either. Pales in front of Kohli 2012 when he chased 330 plus under 40 overs to stay alive in tri series

For BBL performances so far. I would rate.

1/10 for Rizwan (1 because of his Wicketkeeping).

2/10 for Babar (2 because of couples fifties)

Perth has a lot of bounce and the ball swings quite a bit there being a coastal venue.

This was as close to a Pindi wicket as you can find in Australia.

And Sydney Thunder's seam bowling is pretty mediocre.

One of the weakest knocks I've ever seen taking all this into account

@topspin @shaz619 @TheSultan @YousafTheBeast

What do you think Smith said to Babar there with his hand gestures?

“Don’t worry I’ll make sure you can still take this home next over even if you have to bat at a strike rate of 70”
Wow.. This is even worse than Rizwan Fiasco other day. Complete Dis Regard for Supposedly best t20 batter in the world. I suspect BBL took on these PR hungry Cricketers to expose them. It may well work in favor of Pakistan Cricket. Thank you BBL

Steven Smith isn’t even a T20 player, but he knows that coward wont even try, and those who are brave enough to give it a go are admired a lot more in a place like Australia where doing everything you can to WIN is a religion.

This is a bit skewed tbf

I think Smith laid the smackdown openly knowing Bobsy has the other end locked down. Plus Babar did OK in the powerplay unlike his usual putting immense pressure on the other batter.
Babar did okay in powerplay I agree. But afterwards he slowed down massively hence his impact took a hit.

It’s a matter of perception shifts between SENA and South Asian batters on such decks.

Asians already go on to these decks fearing the rapid pace and bounce whereas the fearless SENA batters love these decks and want to connect hard.

Who let these jibroni play in Australia? Give me their address so I can send them some fresh deluxe Timmy Horton donuts

Even the Australian jobbers are better than these guys, just look at their urgency, body language, they are like a pack of wolves hungry to win. Australians have a different psyche but what we need to accept is that not every Pakistani player is a coward like Rizwan or Babar, there’s a lot that needs to be changed in terms of professionalism etc But when have our players been such chicken sh!t on this level, and that too in domestic cricket - you now know why they don’t commit to it completely if you’ve been living under a rock.

A decent innings. Nothing special. A very typical Babar innings - played a supporting role.

Tbh, even if Babar didn't play that innings, sixers would have easily won with how Smith was playing.

Low impact innings.

Looking at the scorecard- not the worst innings in the overall scheme of the result 👍.

This is definitely 💯 times better than the USA knock and more valuable so no use nitpicking.

Who made USA knock the yardstick? lol
It is definitely one of the meekest knocks by a top tier batsman against a minnow team.

From that context, this is an ATG knock. So not sure why the outrage now.

I have seen Babar play some outstanding knocks too and also some meek knocks but this is a decent middle of the road knock that helped the team, so not sure why the nitpicking now.

Not a Babar fan especially in t20s. He should never play, those signing and playing him are fools.

But, Whatever Smith did was not acceptable at all. You could have anyway got strike in the next over, and it wasn't the last over of the match as well.

Would love too the reactions if any Asian does this to any Non-Asian frontline batter when you have half of the overs left.
