[VIDEOS] Pakistan players in Big Bash League 2025/26: Performance Watch

Hassan Ali got absolutely thrashed. Earlier, I thought the BBL was being generous by giving Pakistani players a chance. Now it feels like they brought them in just to expose them on the big stage. Completely overrated, total frauds.

Well, the BBL never signed Pakistani players who could actually perform or at least show competitive edge in these conditions.

Saim Ayub
Abbas Afridi
Aamer Jamal
Abrar Ahmed
Sufyan Muqeem
Khwaja Nafay
Ali Raza
Arafat Minhas
Ahmed Daniyal

These boys would have been much better options for this competition and style. They all would develop their game as well and add some value to the teams. Clearly the BBL doesn’t care about competition and is more about outreach through names.

You missed Mohammad Haris

Hasan Ali with a little comeback. Giving away only 6 in the 20th over.

Still all pacers got smashed at around 15 rpo.

I think the Sixers knew this game was to be washed out so they sent Babar to open with Smith just so the crowd might enjoy it a bit for however long it lasts,

Although I would be highly surprised if they go with this ploy going forward in their crunch games.

What do you recon boys? Do you think it’s part of Babar’s contract/agreement with Sixers/BBL that Babar will open the innings in every match for them? So far Sixers have tried:

Babar/Hughes
Babar/Moises
Babar/Smith

Babar has been the worst opener for them but he doesn’t change, everyone else does. Something very suspicious about this? If true, doesn’t it show why this guy genuinely doesn’t care about the team’s he represents and only cares about making himself look good?

If I recall correctly over the years, @Saj also mentioned contractual details of Babar’s direct signings with Peshawar Zalmi and Galle Strikers, that they will sign him as an opener+captain. This is the reason why the guy doesn’t directly enter any draft or auction system to be picked. He’s only featuring for you if the money is on the table and he gets to bat where he wants.

@salman24

Can you ChatGPT this for us?

Well your point is valid but the names you have taken would not get a picked except Saim Ayub and Abrar.

However, would love to see Fakhar being picked, but considering his poor performance since last few years in this format, don't see him making it.

Apart from these two, there is hardly any player who is worth getting picked especially a batter. I know you would argue about Farhan, but don't see him getting success in long term.

Definitely seems as if there’s some small print Saya have successfully put in the contract. Im sure there’s probably something in there that says “unless our client voluntarily moves down the order”. Obviously he voluntarily would never do that. Not for the good of the team that’s for sure
