[VIDEOS] Pakistan players in Big Bash League 2025/26: Performance Watch

Babar 58 off 48. Commentators are acknowledging his anchorship
MashaAllah
Anchors are not needed in T20 cricket, specially in a team like Pakistan where we don't have enough quality in the form of stroke players.

I disagree, you can file your complaint to PCB.
They tried but failed with the so called hitters in Mohammad haris etc.

Babar must be shocked to see why he didn't get MOTM for getting most runs in the innings. Cause in Pakistan he gets MOTM for statpadding. Here in BBL though. The give MOTM to impact players!

Even Michael Vaughn is mocking Babar.

"We should be celebrating Babar's innings. It's like a throwback. We don't see the anchor role that often now a days".

Vaughan is an idiot . You play the situation in all sports . Babar played the perfect innings, highest score and his team won .

jalnay k bo arahe ha,
Awr sarro sarro,
Well played Babar, hope he continues to play like this .

We don’t need to file it. We know what the PCB truly thinks of him

It’s up to the begherat to do the right thing and step away from this format.

Nice to see him score.

His team one because of the other guy though.

But still good on him for holding up one end. Given all the hype around our players in just hoping they can leave with some dignity intact.

If he can do that in ODIs than we’re laughing.

I’m one of those who’s mentally moved on from Babar.

You CANNOT have a near 100 s/r having played nearly 30 balls! This may be fine in his current team, where you have hitters, but doesn’t work in a PAK team with none.

On the other hand Saim batted poorly in the BPL w/ a 80 s/r too. Rough times😬

Babar has his own game, he wouldn’t change it for some era ghera , on PP.

4 times 200+

I'd like to see him chase 190-200 also.

3 times 190-200.

Score reflect the difficulty of the pitch (usually) . Australia has big grounds with the ball coming onto the bat nicely. I’m not sure if this prove anything further

If it wasn't for Davies Sixers would've lost and Babar would still be celebrating his 50

Well so far we haven't seen him strike at a good rate. Mostly hovering around 120 SR.

Mark Howard: “Babar Azam is the key to victory for Sydney Sixers.

Michael Vaughan: “Yeah if he gets out early, their chances of winning will be stronger.” (laughs)
Vaughan must be relieved now... Babar gave him a high dose with his bat.... SSSHHHHHH

He was chasing 160

Babar at the crease pushed the required rate to 10 by the 10th over

The power surge saved him, the 20 run over against Tye…some good hits by Moises and later by the young left hander

Babar can do this, we know this is what he offers. If you insist on being humbled again, by all means push for him to be the captain and opener with Rizwan for the T20 World Cup!

Well, Gilchrist summarized what most of the realistic Pak cricket fans have known about Babar's game plan in T20s (@23 sec)

Adam Gilchrist also called out Babar Azam slow batting in T20s during today's match.
• His limited power range restricts his boundary options.
• He must be proactive himself, not outsource the SR.
• His run-a-ball approach unfairly pressures his partner to take risks.

It is all mental for him. Always has been. Otherwise his base is stable and has enough power to clear the ropes. Like we saw today with that extra cover six.

It has always been! What is the reason so many skilled domestic sportsmen fail when play internationally? Only the chosen ones have the mental strength to cope with the pressure. It is true for everything in life when become the center of attention.

Babar MOSTLY failed when exposed to pressure. T20Is bats have their own skill set which Babar does not possess. The sooner he had realized, the more he could succeed in other formats without adding pressure on himself. Adding fuel to the fire, he was stubborn to OPEN in T20s - why?

If you had to remove the video, might as well edit the 23rd second reference!

I'm waiting to see him play in a situation where his team needs to score 200.

You’re replying to an individual who claimed Rizwan > Jaysuriya in T20 cricket. Don’t bother wasting your time with him.

Great analysis and response to some nauseating Babar propaganda.

If I’m absolutely, he hit one great shot over extra cover for 6 but besides that, he was on a mission to mess this up had he not been saved by a couple of batters.

The opener Hughes,
Moises in power surge
And the left hander down the order

They saved his @ss here

Babar has the ability or at least had the ability to be a good player across all formats and be our version (albeit inferior) Kohli.

As I’ve said on numerous occasions, he was on the ascendency under Mickey Arthur, where he peaked in the 2019 WC. Things changed after that when Misbah and PTI took over, who both vouched for his promotion to captain.

After losing captaincy, Babar’s head has never been in the right place. His work ethic and fitness declined after that. That’s why I wrote him off in white ball cricket in 2022 after the Asia Cup and WT20 tournaments.

As for this clown who you’re responding to, he’s nothing but a complete lost cause bro. In last year’s PSL, he got butt hurt over a post I made about Babar, so he got touchy and decided to edit it, which I later discovered during my interaction with PakEngFan. Another mod resolved it.

In the suggestions/support thread, I highlighted that he also deleted posts because he became delicate over some statements made about Liverpool FC.

Game evolved in the last 3 years or so rapidly. Consoliators are acceptable except they must have power game they can pull out when needed. Tilak Varma is sort of a consolidator for India. But he has power game when needed.

100% agree. Also, he was mentored by the wrong person, Misbah, after he took over from Mickey Arthur.

Along with his agency, Misbah and them made him feel like he was untouchable.

You could see from his personality that was he no leader of men and making him captain would turn out to be a recipe for disaster because now he’s now lost motivation, which is evident by how his fitness and batting has deteriorated in recent years.

In the past (long time ago), my posts were edited, deleted, got warning messages - I never stopped calling Misbah the CANCER of our LOI cricket.

Problem with Misbah was perhaps his Mianwali Imran's shadows. He wanted to be next Imran Khan. He wanted to imitate Imran's strategy of conserving wickets, and then do the make up later at the end. Time changed but he never considered evolving with time. That my friend was the start of our LOI disaster.

As you said, our following generation of cricketers were kind of brainwashed thinking that this strategy would bring the WC as in 92. Babar Azam unfortunately started his international journey under an ominous LOI leadership.

Brisbane Heat vs Melbourne Stars, 20th Match

Haris Rauf is playing here for the Stars. HIs team is batting first atm..

Babar hits you where Babar wants to and I am sick of bowling at him. I don't think I have ever got him out whether it's domestic cricket or international. He's a real asset to have and one hell of a fit for us so far.

Babar hits you for six where he wants?

Haris will say no one remembers me for the good times but keeps playing games like this

Adam Gilchrist:

"Babar is not known to have a power-packed game. He is not going to hoick across the line and slog one over the boundary for a six. He needs to be proactive. He can't just think run a ball and put all the responsibility on his batting partner to get the job done."

2 overs and 27 runs so far for Shadab as Thunder face off against Hurricanes in BBL15 match today

Babar is lucky not to face a young Sean Abbott with a venomous bouncer.

Melbourne Stars vs Melbourne Renegades, 22nd Match

Hassan khan and RIzwan playing for renegades here

Haris Ruaf playing for stars.

The Stars' attack benefited from bowling first in most of their matches.

Were poor while defending last match , apart from Peter Siddle

Rizzu bechara was hoping Stars get wrapped up under 130 here but 172 is a big score at the G

It’s time to Bounce Billo!

These guys like Josh brown who are not even in the top 30 of their country are better than most of our players.

Rizwan can't find any timing

He's hitting the toe of the bat
Every time he comes to the crease

Aussie commentators

I don't know what is the thinking behind signing Rizwan. I can understand about Babar for his delusional social media fanbase, Sixers got some good followers but Rizwan ? What did they saw in him ? He is nowhere near to his best years in this format (2020-2022)

Rizwan has been completely useless in this chase. Singlehandedly hampering the chasing effort

Same agency

I think Rizwan came for free with whatever fee they paid for Babar. Agent just chucked him in for free for whatever deal that is made.

25 off 26 . What is this batting ? Looks like BBL has just brought PAK players in just to make their domestic players look better than they actually are :inti

Rizwan's vehicle Brown gone. Now it's up to him to take his team home. Specially if McGurk fails here
