Congratulations to Arshad Nadeem and my Pakistani friends on this forum.

What a performance. The big man was head and shoulders above everyone else.
 
No one has ever thrown a 90+ throw in olympics before.
He made the record. He is the legend.

People don't understand how big of deal is it throw 2 90 metres plus throws.
 
If he follows the route of cricketers I'm sure we will see Arshad Nadeem Javelin academies pop up in a few cities.
 
Massive congratulations to Arshad and a massive slap on the face of sports association who sent back 30+ cr back to the government stating they had nothing to spend on.

Well done to his perseverance and dedication and his mentoring team for keeping up the morale.

An olympics record is stuff of legends.
 
What a great achievement for Nadeem. Historical. May Allah reward his success. A high quality competition and what a rivalry we have between Nadeem and Chopra
 
The fact that he did it all on his own is what makes it even more remarkable. Inspite of all the hurdles he not only shattered the Olympic record but also ended our 40 year wait for a Gold medal

I am assuming you have never been in an athletic contest but for your info that’s how it works, you try harder when trailing behind in any tournament/sport leave alone Olympics. Anyway congrats and enjoy. Nadeem is a freak.

He just looks like a complete athlete and could do well in many other sports too. But let's just enjoy this moment. First gold medal in 40 years, that's some time lol.

I was a district level athlete in India mate. Certificate dikhaun kya?. You clearly haven’t even played gully sports based on what you are spouting.
 
Nadeem, If you ever read this, stay away from politicians in Pakistan and they will ride on your success and claim credit.
 
Nadeem has achieved so much with so less assistance compared to all the overpaid underachieving Cricketers like Babar n co. Sorry to compare.


Also don't see many wild celebrations from Pak fans , only Indians do overacting even when they win just Bronze medals lol
 
I don't understand why Pakistani athletes always are kind with indian athletes but indian athletes never show that level of kindness in return.

In over 100 years of the Olympic games, no one has managed to throw like this. Insane stuff and still finding it hard to fathom considering everything he had to contend with and yet he did it. Pakistan as a nation will forever be indebted to Arshad Nadeem for what he achieved today.

Glad they actually showed the throw that broke the Olympic record, I would’ve broken my tv if they showed the long jump instead.

Congratulations Arshad, you’ve brought some positivity into the country.

They hyped the Gold Medal to moon when last time the guy won it, won't shut their mouths about it and go on and on and on .Pakistanis on the other hand while winning the same after defeating the Indian guy, are like Meh !

Neeraj has always been appreciative of Nadeem.

He was in pressure because he was fouling trying to cross 90
 
Guys if anyone knows what time the medal ceremony is tomorrow please let us know :) not often you get to see the flag raised at the Olympics :pkflag

No man he was angry.He knew he couldn't lost to arshad or Pakistan. He wanted to throw 95+.
 
This is brilliant, a record in Olympics is certainly something to be proud of, you did something that has never been done before by anyone! Hopefully this will inspire our generation and our governments to spend in sports development.

Nice to see both Pakistan and India leading in this category of Olympics

He threw 2 90+ metres which has never been done in olympics before.
A 93 metres throw is a record throw. I don't think anyone's gonna break that 93 metres olympics record soon.

Genuinely hearty congratulations to every single Pakistani here.

I hope and pray that you guys realize what an earth shattering achievement this is. This honestly has the potential to single handedly change the face of sports in Pakistan.

As a non-Pakistani looking in -- this ranks as the No. 1 SPORTING ACHIEVEMENT IN PAKISTAN's history every.

Cricket and hockey are team games and the pressure on players can be distributed - but to compete in a sport which had zero legacy and to win an Olympic Gold which historically the Europeans have dominated is an insane achievement.

And for the one or two uneducated, illiterate people who thought the initial 92 meter throw was a fluke - how about the final slipper shot throw of another over 90 meter throw.

Anyway I do not want to get angry and I am not even a Pakistani (at the people who might downplay his achievement).

To all the PP'ers here - who live in Pakistan - it is also your job to hype this achievement up - talk about it in your own social settings - inspire the kids in your family etc.,

And Nadeem - the gentle giant - the Pakistani throwing beast - you have achieved immortal status.
