Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman on Saturday declared it ‘haram’ to vote in favour of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf chief Imran Khan and his candidates.


Imran Khan, according to Fazl, is being sponsored by the West and the Jewish lobby.
Fazlur Rehman used every word that would foment hatred against any person in the conservative masses of Pakistan. He called Imran an agent of “Americans, Jews, Ahmadis and a person of ill character”.

JI strikes deals with JUI-F in Karachi

KARACHI, May 4: The Jamaat-i-Islami (JI) and the Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) have reached an agreement on seat adjustment for one constituency of National Assembly and three of Sindh Assembly in Karachi.

Mohammad Hussain Mehanti, the chief of JI’s Karachi chapter, made the disclosure at a press conference at JUI-F office on Saturday.

He said that Jamaat candidates Sabir Ahad, Wasiuddin and Shafiqur Rehman Usmani had withdrawn their candidature in favour of JUI-F aspirants for Sindh Assembly seats of PS-117, PS-96 and PS-98.

In return, the JUI-F would support Mr Mehanti, a candidate from NA-252 (Bahadurabad-PIB Colony).

Nasrullah Shaji of the JI and Farooq Syed of the JUI-F would be joint candidates of a 10-party alliance, including the Pakistan Muslim League (Functional), from the constituencies of PS-116 and PS-117, he said.

The JI and the Pakistan Muslim League (Nawaz) had also agreed on seat adjustment in a national assembly and a provincial assembly constituency in the city, Mr Mehanti said.

The PML-N had withdrawn its candidate Salim Zia from NA-250 in favour of JI aspirant Niamatullah Khan. In return the JI would support Mr Zia on PS-113.

Character assassination is certainly the way of Western politicians and well it's no surprise that same culture is now very much present in Pakistan. A Maulana should know better. He should've questioned PTI's policies to make his point instead of publicly trying to humiliate Imran. Disgraceful stuff.

What would perhaps have been more relevant was section 171-C of the Pakistan Penal code - 'Undue influence at election'. This makes it an offence to make "attempts to induce a candidate or voter to believe that he...will be rendered an object of divine displeasure or spiritual censure."

This law originates from the colonial era and the wording above is in fact exactly the same as the rule that was created by the British authorities.

Of course the mere existence of the law has not stopped many threats of 'divine displeasure' in elections in Pakistan and in British India.

Otherwise Imran Khan would have been in a position to make Coalition Federal Government or would have been in a position to bring successful No Confidence movement in Punjab Assembly or even if he was not in federal government he could have thrown it away if he felt that the government isn't running institutions the way it should and there is no accountability.


This 2/3rd majority of PML-N is not factual. It is artificial manipulated mandate with rigging. Had PML-N been in power with a marginal majority than they would have worked better knowingly that if they don't work as per requirements than people will throw them out of the power next time and with strong opposition they would not be able to misuse beaurocracy, police, education, land reform department & election commission to Rigg the Elections massively once more.


So the Entire Society is not Corrupt and nor is the major chunk of society corrupt and they came out and voted for PTI in huge numbers.


PTI is delivering much better than ANP, PML-N, JUI-F, MQM, PML-Q & QWP and things are going in the right direction in KPK.


Hope Panama & Dubai Leaks drown the ship of the Corrupt Mafia & we get rid of them.
